Bet you get a nice kick seeing those bricks falling apart afterwards, btw wich martial art is it that you practice? and what type of taht martial art?
@XjugglingX , i get whats called 'patio blocks' at menards here is wisconsin. lowes or home depot sometimes have them. they are 2" x 8" x 16". what type of planks are u referring to, could u be more specific or send me a link?
@GuyBelmont not necessarily. u have to strike it the right way and have good bone conditioning depending on how u hit it. speed or impulse breaks require a certain type of strike. you need follow through of course as well.
I am in taekwondo and am a first dan i can break 4 bricks at this point in time.
To be honest anyone who is not in martial arts can do it. It's quite simple. All you do is follow all the way through and if you dont break it the force bounces back into your hand which could very quite possibly break and or shatter your hand or fist.
@Skate4life12396 id be curious to see if they are the same quality of bricks. ive seen and hears a lot of TKD guys talk themselves up then i watch them break cement, half as thick and twice as long with dust flying up due to the fact they baked the bricks as well.
@tonygunshow19 Actually the bricks are the same, at least the ones i have used. And im not going to lie it took me a little while to get all 4 broken and im not going to act like a tough guy. But as for baking bricks and the thickness we used pretty much the same bricks in your video. Although I have heard that some of the instructors who are just in it for money and not the quality of their students do, do that. You know what i mean the ones who hand out black belts after a couple of months...
I use to do martial arts a long time ago, but I never attempted anything past 2 boards, cause I was pretty young. I work out a lot now, but mostly just for muscle, I'm not sure how much wood I could go through, let alone brick. Would you recommend working on bone strength before trying even the first few?
@rarogar definitely, because muscle growth can inhibit your speed in striking as u know. also muscle growth as u eluded to has little to do with overall bone strength n density. i really gotta post another video with more in depth explanations.
Very impressive sir! Can you tell me if you are using 1" pavers or 2"?
One of my fellow students needed to break 3 2" pavers for his blackbelt and wasn't able to do it. He thought it was gonna be 1" pavers, so didn't prepare for 2". Trying to find something to help him meet his goal.
@factionparadox , these are 2". message me what type of strike he was doing and if possible a video of it. ive broken 100's of times and ive gotten pretty good at critiquing myself.
@jdog4ever2 , forearm workouts are good, punching bag to give u a stronger grip when hitting, and even just repeatedly slapping the concrete surface to get your hand cal-iced (SP).
my hospital bill for the 7 bricks palm hand $6000 yah broken hand and foot cause i got mad when they didnt break so i kicked the shit outa it when i was done
I have just started breaking, but have done marital arts for years. I have worked up to 5 boards 3/4in each. Also 1 and 1/2" sold breaks. I use hammer fist as well as knife hand. However I am having a little trouble stepping up to blocks any tips?

@arcanemuses , yeah personally i hate doing the hammerfist, maybe forearm but not the fist. all the force goes on the one metacarpal bone to your pinky and hurts like hell.
@tonygunshow19 I think the only time I'd use a hammerfist in a downward motion in a fight would be for strikes to the collar bone. Do you think an iron palm would work just as well, if not better for that strike zone?
@tonygunshow19 I vaguely recall breaking bricks with other bricks, held vertically, when I was about 5 or 6 years old. Though it was easier to put a brick on the ground and throw the other brick at it, and break them both.
@tbomgwtf , no i broke on my 1st try. best advice buddy is that its more mental then anything. ur afraid of hitting it & hesitating therefore not going THRU the bricks. hit thru them, dont hit & stop ur force at the surface. i gotta make a better video to explain more indepth i think. this just shows different hits.
@jacka8952 , id really recommend martial arts training to start first. having good hitting technique & balance thru the use of your power takes time and energy. also conditioning of your hand takes a while as well. join a local martial arts school, itll do u some good.
@DotoftheDead and much better can be said for trolls leaving stupid comments on videos all over youtube. get a life because you obviously dont have one and spend too much time trying to be involved in mine.
@heavenmonkey1 , 2 without spacers, but i figure 3 with this type of strike would be the most you could hope to accomplish without screwing up your wrist.

easiest way to break a stack of bricks is to pick one up and use it to smash the rest.
