Obviously yeates did something else after brereton after the initial bump, in the original 1989 broadcast of the grand final they showed what happened after yeates bumped him but now they no longer do. Can you not see that yeates is about to run at him again at 0:57 ? Why would dermott be on the ground in agony a minute after he was just bumped and was getting back on his feet.

Actually they showed Yates hitting Brereton and as he went to the ground they showed Yates swing his leg and cut just before it made contact. As I said they showed it once and have never shown it again. Someone at Ch7 knows where the footage is.

The footage shown here does not show the second hit, although it does show Yeats hitting him once, bouncing off him and then running back towards him and at this point the camera cuts to play. I do remember seeing footage from a different camera view point on the news at the time in reference to the play being a reportable offence, so there is footage of the second hit, but because it wasn't shown in the
