Most designers and teachers will say to insert your hook from right to left under the front vertical bar (a side-to-side instruction). Since I am opposed to instructions which do not allow a left-hander to learn as easily, I use the words "side to side" under the front vertical bar exclusively.
this is the first time i've heard the stitch instruction referred to as side to side. is that the same as insert the hook into the front vertical bar?
