  • Hey does anyone know if a camera that's motion picture quality for only $1,000 or less? I've been wanting to shoot an independent movie for awhile now. The problem is I'd have to get 2 of them. Any help here?

  • please tell me what camera you used to film this so i stay far away from it... thanks

  • i guess this was the aiptek was good in 2007, damn we'ra living in 2011 I won't get a camera under $200 anymore!

  • give me a brief description of yourself, with your name, number and why should I hire you thanks :)

  • Email you guys if you want a internet job at abuathieh05@yahoo.com

  • i hate the word guru

  • Well, the video is 4 YEARS OLD!...Back then, it was good quality, so stop hating.

  • i got a svp hddv 8800 camera but when i use it it ends up having to be pluged in for me to use it. can you please help me??

  • Always trust a guy with an idiotic hat!

  • of cource that aiptek camera is bad but he reccommended it look at the "quality of his videos"

  • du u use a phone camera to record videos because your videos are 240p

  • @RedDragonzOfficial YouTube was only 240p back in the days when this video was uploaded.

  • WTF HES THE SAME GUY WHO MADE THE REALISTIC BUT FAKE GHOST FILMS!!

  • I have a question. I have a Gigaware HD camcorder. I am gonna get a new one soon, it keeps defocusing all of the time and it's annoying. For now, I want to use this camera, but for some reason it says I can only record one minute and four seconds. I've recorded a lot with it, but deleted it all after I have put it on my computer. How do I fix this?

  • What camera do you use? and how much was it?

  • Anybody know what camera I should get...something for holidays...needs to pick up sounds, screen is not a biggie, needs to be portable and have a long battery/recording time...any suggestions welcome...?

  • Check out my vid too see the SVP HDDV 8800 at best specs, not too good :(

  • you want a good camera for less than 200 bucks? buy the Kodak zi8 amazing camera.

  • i hope i win that itouch

  • Those cameras there seem very handy Mark thanks 4 the video

  • Great video

  • the Lucky Charms Leprechaun wants his hat back.

  • I didn't find the D1 video mode...but I did love the DVR mode...I never miss a TV show anymore

  • Doesn't work in low-light conditions? Guess I won't be using it in my ghost-hunting videos. After reading some of the comments, I think I am going to spend a little more - like in the $500-$800 range. Have you any reviews for that price range? Thanks Mark.

  • Doesn't work in low-light conditions? Guess I won't be using it in my ghost-hunting videos.

  • i was thinkin about geting the flip camera...

  • they are both cheep and you get what you pay for lol i was hoping to see you with the svp t700 its not bad for a cheep camera under $200 but it shoots in full spectrum but not out of the box like that you need a filter

  • i ounce used an aiptek camcorder i bought on target amd i thought it was pretty good but the sound was awful however not all aiptek products suck some even comes with remotes so you dont half to push the rec button when making a video stil i could make some improvments

  • Dang... I love portable cameras

  • how come the first camera was able to pick up what was on the green screen? don't you edit that in later? or did your editing software add it in?

  • @ilovedagreenday because it was showing his green screen, the green screen showed up on his camera so the program he uses turns anything that shade of green to what he has his graphic set to.

  • O.o

  • Cameras and such are coming down in price so quickly these days that it's great for anyone looking to buying. Good tips in this video Mark.

  • now, cameras with HDD or solid state camcorders are cheap as f**k

  • this must be old because he obviously doesn't know about the flip.

  • I could buy this "Aiptek" camera... OR I could spend 100$ more and buy Sony HandyCam DCR-DVD110E, guess what I did?

  • Yeah, I have one of the aiptek cameras and they SUCK. Seriously SUCK. Don't buy them! Look at all the thumbs up the other people saying not to buy them got!

  • this is a very insightful video!! i really hope u do more bc im looking for "that" camera and i just havent found it yet.. but u have definitely helped me rule out some of the bad ones.. i really wish i could just take both of those cameras and combine them into one.. then it would be perfect!! lol.. but thank you so much for this.. PLS DO MORE!!!!!! :)

  • Can anyone recommend a good camcorder for under 200? Just something to use for family gathering and fun times?

  • THANK YOU CDRUM30 I WAS ABOUT TO BUY THAT CAMERA!!! YOUR A LIFE SAVER! HAHA

  • Could you please do an update video on this? This technology is probably outdated now :x

  • hey could you sell me one im 12 and have low money

  • I like your theme music! : )

  • Your talking about nice cameras, but you need to upgrade your camera quality.

  • @cory8u It's because in 2007 you couldn't upload HD videos. Youtube would just lower the quality.

  • hey guys i wanna start making vids of me singing and skating on youtube so what is the best video camera for that PLEASE reply im desperate to know

  • @element608 flip mino

  • I HOPE YOU PICK ME !!!!!!

    awesome !!!

  • do you know of any [moderately] cheap HD camcorders?

  • cool video

  • I had problems with the aiptek codec... It won't recognize the video anywhere but windows movie maker haha

  • Hey markapsolon, I just wanted to ask a question. I am willing to pay at least $300 on a good starter video camera; do you think that spending the extra $100 is worth it or should I just settle with a camera around the quality and price of these?

  • hi i want to start making youtube videos of me blogging and some gameplay videos should i get one of theese or Panasonic SDRH80 60GB HDD Camcorder and my laptop sucks soo i think i will need to get a better one so can someone suggest a good laptop for editing films that is a reasonable price. thanks

  • You're best off getting a desktop, a powerful enough laptop is going to cost a lot more than a powerful enough desktop, unfortunately, because of how they need to manufacture the hardware smaller to fit.

  • Not the easiest review to watch...too many pauses and hesitations....

  • Would you recommend the $250 Canon FS200?

  • please make a video about the consumer grade cameras- thanks

  • the aiptek 5800 is only 129 new now. At the aiptek website. I might buy it.

  • I need one that's good in low light. But I don't like how they said it was a high def camera.

  • cool

  • SUBSCRIBED

  • good video, video games? wtfreak? do you know of any good HD camcorders for cheap currently looking at the Zi8 and flip ultra HD even a compact conventional camcorder would be great better actually also that i can use as a webcam, i like the style and shape thats about it thanks good video as always.

  • i bought the aiptek ahd h-125 for 80 euro buth i hate that it doesn't has an auto focus like when u put one of my sony lenses onto it it's super blury what i realy hate so now i need to make all my vids with my sony (sd) is there a way that i can use my sony lens for that camera ?

  • Do NOT buy that damn Aiptek camera. At the video store, the salesperson told me it was the worst camera he's ever seen, and that there were numerous returns. Because of this video, I bought it anyway. Literally on my third time using it, it broke. Plus, the sound quality is horrible, video is low quality. I cannot believe this "pro" said it's a great camera. It's a piece of crap. DO NOT BUY!!!

  • This Video was made in 2007 Those cameras are out of age compared to the camera now a days.

  • @cdrum30 lol he just says that because its his job and he gets payed for it >.> i've seen a couple of his other vids give alot of false information

  • @cdrum30 absolutely agree it sucks!

  • @cdrum30 What would you recommend? I want something which is full HD - Long battery life and can record for long periods of time....and discreet too something small

  • @cdrum30 LOL you made the same comment twice and got both top comments! haha

  • @cdrum30 I bought a aiptek T8+.. Shittest camera in the world. Lol shouldn't even be youtube certified

  • @cdrum30

I can't believe anyone would listen to this "pro" when his video is uploaded in a whopping 240p!

  • @facestomp88 The video was uploaded before 320p-1080p was available on YouTube.

  • can u make another one for 2009?

  • I personaly hate camcorders that are like that.=P

  • i got the aiptekAHD100 and i cand use it in windows movie maker how will i do it any one know how to

  • movie maker does not recognize HD video format

sorry pal gotta buy some editing software

  • There are some free good video editing softwares, just search free video editing program/ software and maybe you'll find one

One software I used was " Wax " video editing software

  • or get pirated software...

  • you cant ive tried multiple times. your best bet is to use onetruemedia which is not very good :/

  • I had the same problem. Download Windows Live Movie Maker and you'll be able to import it fine!

  • You should take down this video since there are much better and more modern cameras out there that put the ones presented in this vid to shame. I'm sure this video was very helpful at the time it was posted but now it can be a bit misleading.

  • I agree. the Aiptek camera is HORRIBLE. I bought it because of this video, and it's a true piece of crap. I can't believe he said it's a great camera. wow.

  • @cdrum30 ya.. it was good when this was relevant information in 2007..

  • with the second camera, once you download it on the your computer would it be compatable with windows movie maker???

  • i just got a sony hdr- xr500v today it was about 1,234$ lol just a tad bit over 200$

  • just a 1000$ more nothing big....

  • the Aiptek camera is crap

  • nice video cool cameras

  • u also have your 32 gig sd card, lol

  • You are the best on youtube u rock!

  • thats false advertising!!! do put hd if its not what the h man.

  • Hey Mark, when do you think you could update this video?

  • Nicce

  • thanks 4 the tip

  • would someone tell me if the sanyo xacti cg10 is any good? i want to ask for it for my b-day next month and i'm not sure if i should get some other camera (flip mino hd, kodak zi8, creative vado hd)

  • I have a JVC camera, with LCD and HDD hard disc. What do you think about it? I think I need to learn about every single detail, including lighting, sound, all those things, Thanks for all the tips.

  • wow I dont even have to ask about anything you got videos answering all my questions... thanks!

  • background is nauseating. i am prgers tho ha ha

  • did any body sew that it is from 2007?!

  • I did :P

  • i need a camera that is compatible with an external mic (camcorder under $200) (mic 50 to 75) please help

  • Kodak zi8 is a good one and its portable, comes out in store sept. 1st or buy it online at their site.

  • Most cameras by DXG are exactly like the aptec

  • hey mark is this a different camera u used? tthis video looks a bit bad quality xd

  • Lol he can't pronounce Aiptek. Good video though. I used to use an aiptek camera; it's a pretty reliable brand.

  • i got a decent jvc mini dv camera (i cant remember the exact model) for £120 its good.

i had one of those sd cameras and it broke really easily and now doesnt work at all.

  • they measure it diagonally to fool you so you think you are buying somthing bigger

  • Historically TV tubes were round, the screen size measurement simply being the diameter of the screen, even when tubes became (rounded) rectangular the distance between the diagonals was used. Nowadays with real rectangular shaped LCD and Plasma screens the old convention seems to have stuck.

  • Awesome! This is exactly what I need.

  • im getting the sony mhs 1 sd for i little under 200 it like $199.99

  • do you know what kinda camera smosh and those people use because there quality is really good

  • Smosh uses the Panasonic AG-HVX200.

But that's not low budget, it costs around 3000 bucks.

  • most likeley a prosumer camera aroun 4 grand

  • i just got a rrrreeeelllyyy good deal for a 12 mega pixle cam brand new for 120$

  • The Toshiba Camileo HD is a very good camcorder. I Bought it for €100,-. You can make movie's in HD(720p) Realy good quality. You can watch my movie's to see the quality. Some movie's are filmed in 4:3, because, it's a lote smaller

  • awesome!!!

  • does the flip cameras, beat those two?

or are they almost the same?

  • how do you get the option to turn down the light on youtube

  • I bought the Aiptek and it is a total and utter piece of crap. Under no circumstances should you buy it. The microphone is pointed the wrong way, it is made of cheap plastic, and it literally quit working the second time I used it. The man at the video store warned me and told me they had multiple returns on it, and he absolutely didn't recommend it, but I didn't listen. Seriously, don't buy it. HORRIBLE

  • It's already almost two years since you made this video. Keeping in mind with Moore's law, don't suppose you'll be updating this list?

  • I need a new video camera !

  • man, mark is gangsta wit it !!!

  • i need a new camera but i don't have the money. i am still stuck with a panasonic vhs camcorder from the 80s

  • you can do chores and get money [if that helps]

  • gd vid. (ure url not workin 2 ure website)

  • Wow this video is over 20 minutes. Might be in PAL format.

  • i used to have the aiptek but someone stole it at a park and the cop who said he could find it never did. he called like a week after it was taken and said he might have had a lead and said he would call back. that was a year ago and he never called. :( that camera was pretty good

  • Ink stop is the place where i got the Aiptek for $59.99 and i now am gonna keep my cam for sure because of you description thanks. I do intend on owning a better hd quality one.

  • I have the very same cam as the first one and i paid $59.99 today. I justgot it and i was searching for better info about better cams on you tube.I want a good web cam to have any good ideas?

  • the logitech quickcam pro 9000 is probably the best webcam out there in terms of price:quality ratio.

If I get it, it'll be $79.97. It shoots 8 megapixel photos, it has HD, and it's fairly mobile for it's on a 6ft long USB cable.

  • Canon ZR900 camera is about $200 and has the most important feature : a external mic in jack!!!! no other camera has that until you get to $700-800 cameras have that!!! Also, dont buy higher model zr950 (no ext mic jack?!),built in mic's on cameras suck, makes difference between crap quality video and semi pro anyway

  • I have a HDDV 8800, my one can record in 3 resolutions QVGA, VGA and D1

  • My camera shoots in .avi standard file format I think becuse it has no problem playing. If you have trouble with playback you should download something like VLC MediaPlayer which has many codecs :)

  • lol. haha. Not gonna find 1. haha. They DO make them UP TO 16gb. BUT, They cost 200 bucks. lol. 1gb is around 10 - 20 bucks

  • So can you make movies with Aiptek DV5800? Is it good

  • thy have a 35gig

  • Man! You really put some decent info in this presentation, and you come across very sincere, and honest with your opinions and experiences with these cameras... Thanks very much. :)

  • AWSOME

  • wow! that's helpful!

  • Nice. Thanks this really helped me choose my camera.

  • lol.

  • I know you can get 16gb you might be able to get a 20gb but it will cost quite a lot and it will probably be done by a specialist shop.

  • so can you use the SVP for youtube?

  • my budget is 100

  • But Now is diffirent there is new amall cam from sony but is more than 200$

  • Im gonna get the aptek

  • I Bought The SVP brand new in box for 90 bucks free shipping..i dont really care for the mic i got a small hang ^_-

  • nice

  • i prefer the jazz 178

  • It's not EKcetera, it's ETcetera, douchebag.

  • a really great camera is the Nikon Coolpix S550, it takes grat pics with 10.0 megapixels and takes great videos too. It is only $200 and dosent olny have good performance but also looks good too, I highly recommend it!

  • LONG LIVE THE ECONOMY

  • hey where do u get the videos to put in the background of u?

  • I might have to bear this in mind, im currently in the market for a new one...

  • excellent, excellent review. :D

  • Is there an update to this? A 2009 update? Or are these 2 cameras still good for the money?

  • awesome review.

  • An excellent and informative video, thanks for producing and showing.

  • YOU SAID IT, SVP LISTENED,

THE NEW T-500 Has a mic on the screen

rechargble li-on battery. It is HD - 1440*1080.

They reduced the size of interpolation

  • Ive got the SVP T500 for £115. I like it and needs a bit of light to get the potential out of it. Max res: 1440*1080

  • Thanx for the review! it was very helpfull.

  • Do these cameras have the ability to turn auto focus off as my green screen is not being keyed correctly because my current camera keeps changing its focus and changing the lighting on the greenscreen.

  • the apiteck has a 720p hd model
