@stickwalker How is it not, there is cars that are much heavier with much bigger engines that are getting 45-50, so why cant a small bike get 35, its very easy to get 35+ on that.

@JTyler52 You would think 35mpg would be easy to get on a bike like this but from what I've read on Spyder forums, low gas mileage is one of the concerns of the owners. Once in a while a person will claim they get 35mpg or better but most owners say they get in the middle 20s.

The Can-am Spyder is a great looking bike and looks like it would be fun to ride. It has problems and I'm sure Bombardier is working on getting them fixed.

Sounds like crap when hitting the rev limiter. Make it sound like gsxr 1000 with straight pipes, and maybe id buy it as a cruiser..... Doubt it tho.

I own a 2008 Can Am Spyder.

As much as I love it, I wish BRP would reconsider the performance.

Make it Shaft driven.

Give it an inline engine ( maybe an engine similar to a Honda Goldwing's )

I do like the look of the belt but I hate the feel of it when I do heavy accelerating.

I love V-Twins but the engine doesn't have the same roar as a V-twin cruiser so might as well give it a more reliable engine like an inline.

We all know they're smoother and would last longer.

Oh yeah, fix the front.

He got the name wrong. It called a can am spyder rs. The trans on this bike is called the se 5 , It also comes with the standard 5 speed trans (SM 5) you see on motorcylces. The se 5 is a extra $1,500 and the sm 5 is standard.

All this is a bike with training wheels on it.. That back tire is wider than alot of the cars being sold today..Which is good..Maybe mustang should take notes and learn how to put a wider tire on the cars..Cause they having traction problems like crazy..

Nice machine but, my ninja 500 gets 48 miles to a gallon..If you're going for looks,then by all means get this can-am instead of a ninja or gs500..If you dont mind looks but dont want a bike thats super fast and gets more to the gallon than this,then get the 500.

@afgr173 While there are a number of first time riders who buy the Spyders, the vast majority came off of Harleys, Wings, and sport bikes... such as me. I wanted a sport touring setup and the spyder along with the side and top hard cases could carry more stuff than any other bike without towing a trailer. Riding is riding...

I agree with Lawawuu. I don't consider it a Motorcycle either. Is a T-rex a motor cycle? It's is made from a motorcycle. Furthermore to say those who can't ride a 'real' motorcycle. if any1 from brp stumbles onto these comment pages please PLEASE do something about the front end styling of this thing. From every other angle this thing looks awesome but when ever they show the front perspectives or footage it looks like those ridiculous segways
