David! Can I come with you guys next time! ;) (LoL) My video will be out soon btw! But I'm not happy with it, I feel like I can do much better. I'm just going to get some snow footage and do the "interview" part. Hope you guys will like it!
Oh and Phil, Danny! I have hugh respect for you guys and I hope I'll get the chance to meet you one day!
I'm not attacking Danny, but just the ongoing argument that we shouldn't name moves nor what parkour and freerunning are. Parkour does have a definition. Parkour is a word, therefore it has meaning. The same for techniques. If we don't have names for moves, how do we refer to them? (That last one is really for Epic1). Sorry this has been on my mind for awhile now.
@Satoriate While it is true that we should not be afraid to properly define what parkour/movement in general, note that Danny is only saying that we shouldnt be limited by the certain definitions. If we do, we are bound to end up as slaves to our own creations rather than be liberated from the norm because of it.
@Satoriate hmm. that's a good question. some people may not take it the right way. some people may use definitions to argue the difference of Pk from Fr. right? those people who do are limited.there is no point in arguing the difference of Pk from Fr because the body is capable of both. they are limited only by definition. they are limited by words that defines the movement for general agreement, not the will/potential of a person.
@levlinks24 No offense, but that's a silly way of looking at it. A word is just a word. You can move however you like. If you're doing pk, then it's pk. If you're doing fr, then it's fr. Again, they're all just words. For instance, if you practice both karate and kungfu, yes, they are both martial arts, but they have different origins, techniques and philosophies. The two arts need name to differentiate themselves. There's no physical limitation by having a definition.
@levlinks24 Essentially, my point is that there's no referee nor judge who says you can or cannot do a move because you signed some contract saying that you promised to only practice parkour or freerunning or tricking or whatever you practice. In the overall scheme of things, we have language, which has words, which have definitions, so that we can effective communicate with each other. If there are no definitions for what is what, then we're left with having to communicate long-windedly.
On behalf of Phil Doyle, Daniel Arroyo, and David Thompson, we at the WFPF were very proud to be part of this project!!! Thanks again!! Love this second episode too and the welcoming Moroccan Traceurs who greeted us there! We love MOROCCO!!!... and yes... it's Parkour... the path...the way through... and each person moves the way he would like to move!! What is YOUR Parkour?!

@levlinks24 Not to come off as argumentative, but how would we be limited? Isn't it all just a word game? What enforces the limitations?

Holding a phone while jumping and doing difficult stunts is really difficult I guess. Good thing they're professional.

they are quite an amusing and unexpected pair. Love the videos, just wish they wouldn't cut out the ends of some of the movements
