i have hear so many musket shots and cannon fodder here.. even late at night and early mornings even smelled pipe tobacco not to mention i have an evp when i was lighting a cigarette it sounds like a man saying "can i smoke with you... " i have some great pictures of apparitions which i will gladly load onto e bay with in the next couple days.... i have so much respect for this place....
I do think it's odd that here at Gettysburg there are apparently ghost sightings and sounds, and yet at most of the battlefield locations of WWI or WWII there are practically no stories of ghost or other paranormal activity.
The musket fire at :59 is pretty cool. If you're sure there wasn't anyone around then you just may have captured the battle that never stops. To the right of you along the tree line I saw bright flashes of light. My 12 year old daughter also saw them and I captured one on video. That was really bizzar to see something like that. It was as if someone was in the tree line with a flash camera taking pictures but there wasn't anyone there. I don't know how to explain it.
@cutless74 Thank you, I have great respect for all service men/women. My husband is an ex-Marine. Most people comment on how much I talk, I appreciate you recognizing my thoughtfulness.
My general advice is to announce any explainable noises as they happen...mocking bird...geese...I think a plane I do hear something like a weapon rifle in a couple places what time of day was this ?
@lynda514 Thank you for your advice. This was 7:00am. The park spreads out 25 miles around Gettysburg. But this location is well hidden within the hills and woods. There were no other visitors at that time. I passed a jogger on the way in.
I went there last summer, In almost the same spot below little round top I heard 3 very distinct musket rounds. It was in the night too. I feel so safe and warm when im there, sometimes I think my past life may have had involvment in that war and I feel like the spirits are friendly.
yeah, I know, sounds like geese for sure tho. Even though i wasn't there, how can I account for all the other things I hear? Especially the soldier asking What? and the reply Let's go..?
ok...listen at.. .37-cannon/guns, then geese in background .59 gunshot, then geese again, 1.13-1.16.... echo of shots? geese in background 1.25 is soldier saying ..."what?" 1.27-1.28 officer saying "let's go"... 2.03 gunshot background echo of wind not really there very begins at .33, 1.35 to 1.44, 2.09 to 2.18. 2.54 to 2.56., 3.04 to the rest still the best catches of evps ever in Gettysburg
@karatechick1981 at :59 when you heard the 'cannon' I saw the camera jolt..which leaves me to believe it had something to do with the camera...seeing as she didnt hear it the first time it couldnt have been her reaction to the 'cannon'
Thanks for your comment. I did not hear anything except birds chirping on a beautiful Sunday morning about 6:30am. My niece said she heard "stay on task", which sounds like a command?
This is a great piece of video. Too bad there is so much talking going on. This area is a serious hotbed of activity and sounds. Just sit there on a calm summer evening and find out for yourself.
Seriously there is much more, try and get louder speakers or listen with headphones. You'll be amazed. Or better yet, go experience it yourself. Gettysburg is a hotbed of activity.
At first I just thought this was BS, but if you listen closely there's all kinds of stuff going on here. It's just hard to hear, wish my computer volume was louder. Definitely hear a gun shot at :59, some voices at 1:03 ... and other things I can't quite make out. Interesting ...
Great find.....I have spent a lot of time jogging through the park and the surrounding areas and let me just say that there have been many times in the wee hours of the morning where I have heard things that I cannot explain.
It's a beautiful place. In fact that's about all I saw early that morning, a couple joggers. I'm sure you do hear lots of noises. Amazing how the energy resides there still. Thanks for the post.
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to point out the noises. I hope others can identify with the sounds and maybe can here more. My niece said she heard men saying, Stay in Line, and get on task. I dind't here, but she has better hearing then me at 11 and i'm 48. Thanks for the post. I plan to go back to Gettysburg again in Oct, I will definately try this again, with less talking.
ur tapping the camera too much, at :59 you can see that your hand or finger was tapping the camera and it moved. that will make a sound like a faint musket being shot off. i do not believe it.
no it isn't dude. ghosts are not real in the first place so how can there be ghostly musket shots? and do u ever think its alittle strange that right when people turn on the camera their just happens to be "ghosts" on it. come on dude ur smarter than that.
everybody that sees ghosts and honestly does i have no problem with that. if i know someone personally that happens to see one at gettysburg i will finally know ghost are really real its hard to fathom because you get so many people that post fake crap online and it only makes the real ghost footage seem more unbelievable. with this footage it does and doesn't seem real. i still cant hear it but thats me so yeah. ask him how long has he been filming? then you will see if he is faking it or not.
some ppl are making it up alot of times. notice how ppl only see ghosts starting in this generation or time! and i have a springfield musket and it isn't even close to a musket shot. believe me muskets are fricken loud as hell. its black powder!!! this sounds like twigs
Sometimes I think as much as we are trying to make contact with the dead so are they trying to contact us too.Yet the conditions have to be just right, for one side or the other, sometimes both, in order for there to be success
very fascinating, the sound of residual energy, which this deffinitly is, is in my opinion the most interesting aspect of paranormal research. With it we a laterally experiencing history with our ears.
I heard gunshots and yelling, too. Most likely, they were dubbed in at a very low volume. I like the creepy effect anyway. I wish I had been the one to have taped this. That would be the only way I'd know the recording wasn't tampered with.
OMG! Cantankerous suites you well. Like I have time to dup anything, or even know how to do that. I took out my digital camera and this is what I got, believe it or not, doesn't matter to me. I guess I assumed most people who read these posts were believers already and not judgemental or accusatory. I'm beginning to regret that I shared this at all.
I listened to it again today and there is a loud musket shot at :59 then a lot of voices and at 1:30 if you listen closely it sounds like "Let's Go!"(I hear voices after the musket shot for a long time almost the entire time you were filming) I really liked your video although I know you were trying to get a response I think you were talking too much and I could hear your feet crunching as you walked around, please do this again maybe less talking and less movement?

Shortly after you hear the snow geese in the far distance comes the sound of MANY men, as in battle, and it goes on for a great deal of the clip- that really is too cool
I believe you have a real find!! I live about a half hour away from gettysburg and visit the park often. While I have never heard EVPs in daylight I have heard them at night. My favorite experience was camping near the battlefield i saw orbs and glowing mist in the trees that vanished as soon as i saw it, i also heard gunfire, canonfire, screaming, horses running, and what sounded like a sea of yelling voices... very scary but amazing!!
Thank you. I think dawn is the perfect time to visit the park. Not many visitors at that time and it's beauty is only outmatched by it's mystery. I intend to go back, hopefully during July 1, 2 or 3. Should be very active. I"ll post any new EVPs. Try a digital camera, worked for me.
i cant hear muskits or cannons but i can hear voices i cant make them out but there is somthing there i have no ear phones but if you can hear them then thats good enough for me one thing i will say though and i have said this before why would a inanamet object such as a cannon be in the spiret world that puzles me thanks eny way good luck
inanimate objects often appear (visually and audibly) as they are an echo of the past, like a movie you can watch over and over. It is sometimes possible with the right conditions - the main one being emotive which cause us in the hear and now to connect with the past, like clips. Yet, there are also people who die and reach out to us, which is different than what I just said. Like Young said, there is this thing called the collective subconscious as well that may be involved with it all too!
That's pretty cool. At first I thought you might've heard the wind, but those shots are very distinct, and being an avid historian I can say that those were deffinetly musket shots. It's also amazing that you were able to hear them, since most EVPs are recorded and can only be heard upon playback. A great find.
Finally someone who can attest to the sound of a musket. The shots I heard were before I started recording. You should definately go the Military Park it's a wonderful visit and lots of history of course. Thanks for your post.
I went to the park in '07 and it was absolutely beautiful. As of right now, it's the place I plan on moving to after I finish up high school and college. I took two ghost tours and pulled out all the stops. I've been a big civil war buff for about five years now, so it was a dream come true. Also, the 360 view you give with your camera was a good move, because it validates your claim that there was no one else there.
You'll hear what you want to hear, I've been to Gettysburg seven times and I never heard a thing, but it is a great place to spend a few days, so beautiful in the spring and summer.

The musket shot is not local hunting. Due to the fact that The Gettysburg National Mililtary Park is 6,000 acres surrounding Gettysburg, and I know they don't allow hunting. Don't take my word for it, got to Gettysburg yourself and experience it for yourself. The geese yea they are in the background, but you must not be listening with loud enough speakers? My 10 year old niece heard things like "Stay in line men" and "Get on Task" (who says that?).
I'm a believer in the paranormal but there seems to be no evidence of the paranormal. Besides the birds chirping it seems that the background noise are canadian geese. The musket shot could be explained by the fact that this video was shot during hunting season. I hope i don't burst too many bubbles with this comment but i just want people to see the possibilities. Keep on looking and good luck.

I got some better headphones, and heard
0:19 "what"
0:33 guns - not cannons yet.- those begin at 0:36
0:51 begins the men yelling
after the gunshot at 0:59, you can hear the men yelling louder at 1:02
what is the noise at 1:06 and 1:12-right before more gun shots (?) at 1:14?
i was wrong - the man at 1:25 doesn't say .".what?" but "again?"
answered duly by a man with southern accent saying "let's go!!" at 1:27
2:16-2:19man says words, can't make them out
2:49 to the end is a wind like roar

joey513ja 2 years ago
Actually ghosts are real. And people don't always turn on their cameras and magically get ghostly videotapes first try.
Many people record thousands of hours of footage before they get good evidence. Other people just get lucky.
Don't think that just because people post clips of their ghost videos that they don't have lots more of regular footage.
ClassicRockWorld 2 years ago

joey513ja 2 years ago
When it comes to ghosts actual "evidence" isn't even needed because it's so obvious.
However there are thousands of pieces of evidence on t.v. shows and the internet of pictures, videos, and audio proving that ghosts are real.
And that doesn't even account for the billions of ghostly experiences people have had throughout the history of the world.
Those sounds are IDENTICAL to musket shots. If you knew what a musket shot sounded it would be obvious to you to.
