Yes, that picture is real :( Although alot of those pictures you see are not from American troops, they are from suicide bombers. Alot of what you will see is determined by your MOS (job). It is very hard for our troops to see this kind of thing. That is why we are there. I am a US soldier, and I believe we are trying our best to help these people. Don't forget, alot of good things that happen over there that the media does not want you to see. Be Army strong! HOOAH

Certain kinds of .50 caliber weapons have to be mounted, for example the ones you see on the trucks over there. There are also .50 sniper rifles, the Barret for ex.
