There is brutality, there is aggression, there is nihilism, there is I think their music is more than just technical, I think they're music is in fact, quite musical. I can get emotions from their songs, If you don't then that's just you, you know. diminished to b is just a play on words, it is in fact diminished to be, which is actually what the song is about. but please, don't ever tell me DM is about lyrics.

necrophagist's got death metal lyrics. but a DM band can write about anything, if the music is right, it's good. with brutality, I think of a special feeling, heavyness, aggression, speed or technicality are kinda important but real brutality is something more than that, which is why some suffocation songs are more brutal than others, even though they have the same speed, guitar tone et c. so, I kinda know, what you're talking about but some NPH songs have that feeling as well IMO. nile rulez!

When I hear Derek Boyer I like it and sometimes more than Alex Webster, it's just the oly thing is they don't turn their bass up the same as CC. When Derek does a bass solo you're like OHHHHH MOTHERFUCKER and such lol. Also I know he didn't do infecintg the crypts but the bass solo from that is pretty simple but awesomeage.

Suffocation is way more brutal and always has been more brutal than CC. CC's best (Tomb of Mutilated, the Bleeding) can't get me as nearly as pumped as any of Suffocation's stuff. Although, I heard CC's new album Evisceration Plague is supposed to be really good. To bad it took them since the Bleeding to make anything worth while.

cc's new album blows..it has one good song on it..that is their trade mark the last 4 or 5 albums(I have lost count in boredom)..one good song 10 that suck balls. You can pretty much count on one hand the number of really GOOD songs they have made since BARNES departed. CC vs SUFFO isnt even a debate.

Well, they certainly haven't wimped out--sounds like classic Suffo! This new CD should crush. I agree with ScorpioX19--a lot of older recordings sound better--I blame it on all the ProTools and similar digital enhancements--bands barely need to be able to play these days. How about recording basically live in the studio and fix up obvious mistakes or just do another take?

I think alot of older bands newer albums would be better if they had that sick old school production with the loudass bass and everythink.Like for example, notice how Effigy Of The Forgotten was so great and Breeding The Spawn was nothing like it in quality so becuz of that it wasn't as big.Too many bands today get thatnewer up to date sounding production and it's nothing in comparison to what it used to be like.

I couldn't agree with you more. I love the sound of their earlier production. The sound is all dirty and gritty and creates great atmosphere. I've notice a lot of bands have a clean sounding production nowadays and doesn't create the same feel. They still producing great music though. I can't wait for Blood Oath! Suffocation for life!
