  • 1999!!!!!! love the 90s! :D

  • Little Nicky anyone? :)

  • sounds like stereophonics though

  • Richard - Hey Dad, what do you think about your son now?

Dad - Could you take my picture? 'cause I won't remember.

  • @MsOctopato why do you think he says that?

  • @friends01us If Richard wrote the phrase "Hey Dad, what do you think about your son now" to call out his father because he didn't believe his son could make it in the music world, then his father would reply (in this twisted fictional account) using the same line Richard used to excuse his behavior in the airplane.

    Anyway...

  • 90's i love this song !!!!!!!

  • I love this song, I love this video, but I just STILL can't get past Richard Patrick's nipples in this video!!

  • @AnthonyTrott I know, they're almost hypnotic...

  • this song brings back so many memories!!!

  • why can't I watch this on youtube iphone?

  • @29manchu Cuz' the youtube app on iphone can't play copyrighted content.. Fuck vevo for that..

  • @MatuShazz Thats Weird.

  • @iowajester123 I feel the same way, when I'm stoned.

  • @iowajester123 thats the truth!! same here............

  • I find it funny that they're the same guys who did Hey Man Nice Shot.

  • I <3 this song!

  • The meaning of this song is oh so different from what I interpreted.

  • j'ai mis 10 ans à retrouver cette chanson

  • AAHHH I FUCKING LOVE IT

  • My mom is friends with the singer's twin sister. No lie.

  • @1234lavaking wow! that is awesome!

  • still have this song on mp3 :)

  • This song is about how he had a mental breakdown on an airplane and started to strip all his clothes off. The line "Hey Dad, what do you thing of your son now?" has a double meaning; hey dad, what do you think of my successes (being a musician), and hey dad what do you think of my failures (his breakdown). Deep and beautiful song.

  • @jdawg1692 I saw video of him and his parents....his Dad is all.........there for him. Awesome! notice in the video a picture of him as a teenager on the coffee table while water builds up?.....I thought at first that it was rebelling, but like you said, it really has a double meaning.....I love this song, it is timeless.....

  • travellin' tune

  • Great song writer ,nice mello sound !

    Thanks for the post.

  • this is my most favorite song EVER.

  • The Girl Next Door anyone??? ;)

  • The "music" paralized the Canadian Federal and British "systems". MUSIC. Right, coming over the radio. Shoe designs, "Accessories" that killed CSIS where the faggots shit and spazzed.

The "hunting", the "Dead baby" in the closets... the water in the "loo".

Tragic. Have a good look in there, Willows. It's an exhibit.

    Costa Concordia? Costa everythinga.

  • I'd say you kinda "redefined" kicking and screaming, Secret Service.

    Enjoy the "View".

    (Lower right hand frame corner)

    You're not allowed the pins.

  • I didn't like your taste in music any more than your taste in Bulletin Boards, Dog Chefs.

  • I fucking miss the 90s.

  • like this

  • like this if your still... ah fuck it good song (yeah I actually expect to thumbs up for that ok)

  • Aapleen =)

  • Most People don't know the lead singer of filter (hottie) and Trent Reznor (NIN) used to be boyfriends for almost two years. They were fairly open about it, speaking in rare interviews, although the lead singer of filter was more outspoken. They used to make out in the back of clubs after playing concerts and stuff. Unfortunately, Mr. Trent decided he got bored of being bisexual and they broke up. #90s #POPCULTURE #GAYLORE

  • @electronicoffee You know, my first instinct was to immediately disagree with you, but if you think about it, it makes sense.

  • @electronicoffee hmm, interesting fact, thanks for sharing lol. and yeah the lead singer is pretty hott haha. he also has a great melody voice and screaming voice haha. and this song is simply exquisite :)

  • THANK YOU for the heads up on Ron Paul ads (hope it was intended)

  • i think Richard Patrick would make a very good pornstar.. he's so fucking sexy ;)

  • @lilrockable His dicks big to... he used to whip it out all the time when he was wasted back in chicago. I'd say it was a solid 8 to 9 when I saw it.

  • I've loved this song for so long. Never knew there was a video.

  • @C3DMagic Welcome to the Internet!

  • Why isn't he getting electrocuted by that chandelier in the water?

  • @creativewriter1000 Thick rubber souls? Lol

  • This guy has one of the best voices I have ever heard

  • Little Nicky brought me here. :)

  • great song..the 90's had some awesome rock songs. Filter was one of those good 90s bands. The cool thing bout filter is the contrast, they have the heavy, screaming hard rock song "hey man nice shot", and then this one and the contrast, but both great songs

  • i saw this video clip while working out at the gym. I had to download it as soon as i heard it, such a beautiful song.

  • I actually enjoy this song.... that said, it is hard to believe this douchebag was ever involved with NIN

  • @spangsman Please, I love NIN, but Reznor is such a douche lol

  • i first heard this song on a cassette tape "the best of alternatives vol."long time back and i remember how i had to rewind to play this song over n over. nevertheless, i still find this song amazing like a new born..

  • Remember listening to this in 2000 while driving to Ocracoke Island. Couldn't think bout anything except my new girl. You're still the best Carrie

  • I'll take your picture if I can take your number too :D

  • This was a song that captured my freshman college year... Every morning when we went down to the lunch hall this song seemed to always be playing. It brings back a lot of good memories.....

  • Please, enable the "Sharing" option. I want to attach this in Facebook.

  • copy/paste link? :P

  • the sad things is Rich and Filter is one of the greatest bands ever.... but the last time I saw them it was in a venue with less than 50 people, I still had a great time, but people need to support their favorite bands if they want them to keep performing.

  • girl next door

  • I remember this era of music like it was yesterday. what happened to good music of today it's to much mainstream it's almost unfortunite it's a disgrace to the old generations ya digg im a 80's baby but i like tupac lil wayne ti 50 cent but my true love is the 90 music nothing compares. what can we do to bring back the 90's nothing right ?just kick back and reminisce and enjoy

  • This song always makes me feel good...

  • Great song BUT .... what is the video about?!! It's clearly the Lucifer/Prometheus myth - he is cast out at the beginning to earth. This elucidates lines like "I don't believe in your sanctity" and especially the final line: "Hey DAD what you think of your son (Lucifer) now"! The flooding and water refer to both a cataclysm and the new speculum: age of aquarius!

  • @JackTheBaptizer actually its about him overcoming his fear of flying.he got really drunk and tore his shirt off and was screaming like a baby. so his friends took his picture "kicking and screaming" and sent it to his father with a message saying ' hey dad what do you think about your son now " that's what he said in an interview so they decided to make a song about the experience ---peace

  • @CoolConejo Thanks for the info conejo. Perhaps the Prometheus/Lucifer archetype was the video director's vision - because it's clearly there. According to Jung's collective unconscious/archetype concept we often do it unconsciously. Fairy tales, for example, almost always have a 'below-the-surface' element. Or maybe... I should just stop doing shrooms.

  • @JackTheBaptizer it usually is , if the artist wants any help being successful ;)

  • omgoodness that falcetto mmm

  • one of the best song from the 90's:) miss does songs:( makes me remeber when i was a kid

  • Good song. Soundtrack from my life <3

  • I love Rich's voice it's so smooth. Filter is sooo underrated.

  • @johnbrown53160 Lol, I always thought that's what he was saying when I was younger. XP

  • 65 people doesn't know to work a camera.

  • I had 4got about this song! At the end he says " Hey Dad whata u think about ur son now." Anybody know what that was about?

  • @48kams I seem to recall hearing Rich say in an interview that him and his father were not on the best of terms at the time because of Rich's alcohol use.

  • This video is beautiful.

  • The Girl Next Door

  • What I heard as a kid:

    Awake oh my oh pleen

    awkae oh my oh pleen

    my skin is bent

    my skin is theirs

  • For me, this song capped of the 90's perfectly. It always makes me reflect on those years gone by. This song will always be part of my life's soundtrack. Thanks Rich.

  • @MrJtr1888 Well said.

  • one of my fave songs but the video is just full of boyband arm movements, not cool :( still giving it a thumbs up though , its Filter ffs :)

  • Thumbs up if this song makes you feel awesome!!!

  • Criticism? Nah. We are all human...and we all make mistakes. Unfortunately we judge. We waste time on that instead of taking it and using it to do something positive. We are here to be caring, helpful, loving. It may take a bigger effort to do that rather than judge...but in the long run it gets easier, feels natural, and we become better for it. We have our weaknesses...the biggest being to turn our back on someone. Point is ...never give up.

  • first heard this on Little Nicky

  • OMG! get around this by safetysuit ,you'll see.

  • 62 are gay.

  • lol the many ironies of life, get drunk on a plane, take your clothes off, get arrested, make a song about it.

  • @ThingsThatMakeMe on the band's facebook feed last week they posted how he wrote this song is about waking up from a dream you can't remember. I really, really wanted to comment something like, "I thought it was about that time you got shitfaced on a plane?" But I didn't. They are one of my favorite bands and that sorta comment doesn't win you free t-shirts.

  • Songs like this are underappreciated, I wish music like this was at the top and not what is today.

  • This video always seemed so whimsical to me :)

  • 60 people missed the picture.

  • I do miss this band!

  • Im top comment :D

  • Filter's frontman, and founding member Richard Patrick has said that the song is about him getting drunk on an airplane, taking off all of his clothes, and fighting with the flight attendants who tried to stop him. This would account for the introductory, and later-repeated, lyrics: "Awake on my airplane, awake on my airplane...my skin is bare, my skin is theirs."

  • @Msumner316 Hi, and thanks for the heads up, the song makes sense now cheers.

  • @johntex37 Amen brother...

  • @johntex37 Keep fighting the good fight...few will understand the levity of the journey...I will pray for you always...it was brave of you to voice your experience...make it count...

  • @johntex37 mad props

  • @johntex37

Damn, man. Really? You're shocked that your dad was a little ashamed and you're blaming him for having a hard time getting off of meth? You don't think that maybe he blames himself for your situation and can't look at you without wanting to die? Or maybe you actually think that getting addicted to dope and quitting it is like beating cancer. Noone picks cancer. But good job on deflecting your self-destructive behaviour on your dad. I give it another week.

  • @KoSStuff Great reply. They all want a huge pat on the back for cleaning themselves up. Never a heartfelt apology or compasssion for hurting their family members and other people that cared about them while they were on their path of self destruction. That never even crossed their minds. Addicts are nothing but weak, selfish, self-absorbed people who will stop at nothing to get their way. While the rest of us tap into self control and will power to live life right, they do not.

  • @KoSStuff Drug addicts are selfish type. My friend also has rich family in florida that don't give him a single dim, hes lived on his own since 16. and yeah..he's not a drug addict.

  • @johntex37 that's powerful. thanks for sharing your plight on an encouraging note.

  • @johntex37 uh...the song is about him being drunk on a private plane and he was all passed out,his freinds took a photo of him and sent it to his dad saying " what do you think of your son now " This song is about a happy experience he had with some friends. " Kicking and screaming " is because he had a fear of flying on a plane and took his shirt off going all crazy like.

  • This song is in a league of its own. Totally rad!
