I love iron maiden with all 3 singers,in a way "di'anno Maiden" was kinda a different band in a way, and i think it was equally as good, it had a warm pub feel with alot of skill, where as the bruce stuff was huge live shows and more large scale metal.I think both are equally great, there perfect band in my opinion the 3 eras of different singers all show a different perspective of talent, even the blaze albums were good,all things considered.But this album for me is one of the best albums, ever

But I can totally understand where you're coming from about Di'anno, he was simply superb on the first 2 albums, but I do feel a bit sad about what he became after Maiden, pretty awful I think.

@stewux it wasnt so much Bruce that "took" them to another level as it was their record label. the change in style was their doing. Bruce did help make the change successful though. if only Paul wasn't so hellbent on being trashed all the time, it might have been different. but perhaps Maiden v1 ran it's course...doesnt matter anyway i suppose. both Maiden's are awesome in their own right.

The way I see it Di'anno is still the singer of Iron Maiden; his status did not get demoted or marginalized and the title of "former" should not apply to him. Paul is part of the DNA of the Beast and always will be... Bruce is also the singer for Maiden and got his Iron torch from Paul as the music progressed. Just like Adrian, Dave, Janick, Den, Nicko, Clive, (Steve Harris) - all are Maiden for their contributions - Bruce and Paul are one entity - Iron Maiden!!!

Slipknot is simply a newer form of Metal. Some of the Older fans will not understand it, but I do.

It's like when The Beatles came out, and all the parents hated it, or when early Punk came out, and the classic Metal bands hated it. Eventually those bands were accepted, and Slipknot will be too one day.
