There's something that really bothered be between SR2 and Defiance. How did Raziel's reaver lose its symbiotic effects?

Raziel cannot die, it is truly impossible in every way, Kain may be undead as well, but if you kill Kain with a vampiric weakness (i.e. impaling him) He WILL die, and all Raziel would have to do is suck in his soul. BAM! and the Kain is gone. Raziel theme is sexy btw, love it.

which is a good thing, because no one wants to live forever, especially that the renewed Kain only wanted was real redemption and the salvation/restoration of Nosgoth - Raziel on the other hand, is bound for an eternity (a loop) of unrest. If Raziel kills Kain, he can no longer postpone his own doom in SR2 - But whether or not he kills Kain, he is always bound to be the reaver itself. - Raziel has always been the sword of his master, Kain.

There would be a lot of differs....I think Kain. Raziel Got all his powers from Kain and the Elder God. Kain would have been the Sion of Balance but became something much more powerfull than that...he brought both the Hylden and the Sarafan to it's knee's. Raziel became strong as well, more powerfull than Kain...But Kain lives without a fuckin heart...now that's power!

i guess it depends how you define power, Raziel lost his dark gifts and such, but Kain is at the height of Vampiric power, and by all appearances Kain is physically stronger then Raziel, and his Telekinesis is far superiour. Raziel however, seems to be more agile and could easily escape Kain if the battle were to turn ugly by simply shifting to the spectral plane. Kain also has much more expierience fighting then raziel, i suppose it would all depend.Kain has a slight edge i think.

I think Kain fights better. Raziel is stil one of the coolest characters I've ever seen in a game.

I can't say for sure, Raziel's theme? In Soul Reaver 2, this is the main menu music with Ariel in it, the song is called 'Ariel's Lament'. As foe the Arielless version...I have no clue.

I would say: Best story in a game. LoK came a long way, from 2d to 3d, Kain to Raziel and back, from puzzles to killing...a lot....I miss the puzzles. :(

First, it was the Elder God who revived him, not Kain. Second, Kain's effect on Raziel's fate has nothing to do with his being stronger.

I think they are equally as strong. However, Kain is mortal, while Raziel's reincarnation has left him unable to be dispatched.

Wrong...Raziel killed himself in Soul Reaver 2, kain revived them in Vampire Form, Raziel grew wings, blah blah, abyss and THEN the Elder God revived him.

Plus: Vampires are not mortals!

Just to clarify, Raziel goes back in time and kills his past mortal life. Kain raises him as a vampire and then throws him into the abyss, the Elder God then revives him as a wraith.

As for power, at the start, Kain is the most powerful "mortal" being in the world, but leads raziel down a path to become stronger, by the end of defiance they are equal, which is what Kain wants, so raziel can choose.
