  • I can play this track a for an entire afternoon non-stop without getting tired or without realizing it's the same piece of music over and over again. It keeps getting images and nice memories/ thoughts passing through my mind. Please, someone, tell me you do that too ...

  • This is the song you hear when you accomplish your Dream... lying in bed... just realizing you did it... you lived your Dream...after suffering for a long time, all the effort you put in, all the failures... tears, sweat...blood...You did it...

  • Sweetipiez comment is my heart speaking, Muscarines comment is my brain speaking. No wonder that they are both equually thumbed up. By the way, I am from Holland and pretty stoned right now. Just appreciate the fact we cán actually communicate, and stop gving a single fuck about my grammar. Peace.

  • can you send a download link?

  • Aphex Twin, for me, is one of the 5 best electronic music composers, he can go very crazy and so soft and peacefully but never loose the essence of electronic sounds.

  • peace... sheer peace

  • Sounds very Bass Communion... Or is that vice versa?

  • What i enjoy doing whenever i listen to this song is to time my breaths to the surging of the melody, inhale on the beginning, exhale as it ends. it's very relaxing for me and puts my mind at ease. the world needs Peace.

  • floating in a dream...

  • I remember my first time listening to this song. I took Hydrocodone (like oxycontin) and I felt like I was afloat on a cloud. Jesus Christ. If only people knew that it felt like.

  • @BoxxyizQueen i do know what it feels like

  • time ceases to matter here.

  • mushrooms!

  • i really would love to see the faces of the people if all of the sudden all over the world, even on the battlefield of the war and in the middle of random fights all across the world this started playing, and then aphex twins , rhubarb, i just wanna see what theyd do.. i would hope that everyone would stop and start to feel complete peace no matter who they were

  • @SweeTipiez Doubt it

  • @muscarines yeah i know :'( a girl can dream though

  • @SweeTipiez no...that wouldnt happen

  • @SweeTipiez That's a kind thought :)

  • incredible!!!!!

  • good job on the visuals, i think you nailed it brother.

  • thats my home town right there!

  • thats my home town right there!

  • saladfinger?

  • @iwasaki1008 Was just thinking that ahha.

  • play this at my funeral and i will be happy :)

  • I wish Richard would tour Australia either live or DJ in 2011 :((( I've only seen him once with Luke Vibert and that was enough to want more

  • This is probably what I'll listen to when I'm very old and looking out of a window in my house. Reminiscing on life...

  • This song helps me remember that the end of all human life is not the end of the world - for there can truly be no end to anything.

  • Life. I will never understand it but yet its so beautiful and right.

  • rushing and mesmerizing upward...then a moment of remembrance of what was below me now gone forever..now I am free.

  • anybody else hear the clock in your living room?

  • Y'know, I experience this best without any drugs at all. I sit on the floor and slip out of my mind without any assistance. It's very transcendental, feeling free without the drugs. The drugs were fun too though.

  • This is the perfect meditation soundtrack.

  • if they would play this music in church, i would eventually go there on sundays

  • i missed this song, it makes me want to die but live forever at the same time and a million times over.

  • eternity silence eternity

  • magical...this track is so simple..no beat, just a few sounds going on and on taking me in deep serenity,i have listened to it so many times..but still i pick it up as wonderfull as it is my first..

  • This is why Aphex are widely listened to. A staggering mastery of the electronic and ethereal

  • My mam is a beauty therapist, she has a room in the house which she uses to do her job. She used to use generic 'sounds of the rainforest' albums (which, while they can be cool, are pretty standard) to soothe customers off to sleep or a higher state of relaxation. I have now given her an album full of Aphex, Brian Eno and Shpongle to play to them. Now I see them leaving looking as if they've discovered new purpose in life. I love Aphex.

  • @philyboyo add some lsd to the fx therapy and everything s perfect! :)

  • @philyboyo No way, that so cool. I've loved Aphex's stuff for years and never heard of anything like that happen, although i always assumed it must have. Not enough people know about this music! I'm sure they'd prefer it to the xfactor if they just gave it a chance!

  • This is fucking boring

  • @JJJinXXX It's ambiance music bro

  • life...

  • @Voitzify ...

  • This was on a David Firth video, although I cannot remember which one :S

  • this is so good that it should be placed in a time capsule for our future generations to enjoy!...., play it a few more times to "experience" the deeper, more meaningfull side of life, ..the higher sanctuary, the promised land, the utopia within your mind, this is music as an art form ..Aphex Twin deserves your attention

  • feel like there some open scope for potent scripture, awoken the the holy folk of old with a golden ellixure, moments dissolve composed with picture, soul feels wholeness while alone in this figure, it seems to be about thanks giving.

  • @AbortedCannibalTOM

they both go hand in hand bro

  • forgiveness...

    forgiveness...

    forgiveness...

    forgiveness...

    forgiveness...

    forgiveness...

    forgiveness...

    forgiveness...

  • This music reminds me of a dissasociative psychadelic experience (Maybe like a Salvia trip). It seems to evoke equal measures of "everything-ness" & "nothing-ness". Simply beautiful, beautifully simplistic. it could be the accompanying music for the birth of the universe & the death of it.

  • To beautiful for words....

  • alieno

  • Very nice song like an intro

  • Still has the same effect on me this tune and the album after nearly twenty yrs ago it was released ! I loved it just as much then as I do now absolute tranquil magniliquence I will never stop lovimg this music warp are asolutely the kings for signing artists such as afx but the artist these days just dont cut it on warp like they used to ! Go on Richard D James

  • None of my 'friends' would ever understand this music... It would be hard for them to appreciate the depth and emotion that this sound carries with it.

I can really feel the universe with listening to this.

  • this song is relaxing

  • love it

    heavenish...

  • I love this song so much,i remember the first time i heard it,how calm i felt. For more good electronic music you can check my page and listen if you feel like it,if you like this you might like something of the stuff i got, have a great day : )

  • it's fucking depressing

  • This really is, 5 in the morning, joint smoking, whiskey swigging, love making music.

  • Podria durarb 10 horas y podria volar hasta donde nadie ha volado jamas escuchando esta canción, Me recuerda a una cancion que se llama Bardo, de sizu Yantra.

Gracias Juan Son, por recomendar esta cancion!

  • Somewhere in another galaxy, there is an area of about a metre cubed, in which this plays constantly. That's the goal

  • I am falling through a distant reach of our universe, engulfed in eternal blackness. No temperature, no light, no feeling, just deep, enchanting sound and a warm, reassuring happiness as I know that the further I fall, the closer I am to that which I love. I am not lonely, as I am in the company of every person I have ever known, but more importantly, no-one.

  • this is the begining song for Afraid of Monsters

  • A haiku for this song: Generous shadow coiling in deepest space death swallows me whole

  • @gnikcuf888 Moving. Thank you.

  • @gnikcuf888 That aint a haiku youve got the syllables mixed up im afraid.

  • @orbadus ain't you've i'm

  • @muscarines isn't I'm

  • @orbadus true, but fucking hell, does it actually matter when life exists

  • @gnikcuf888 That's too long for a haiku. 17 Japanese moras ~ 12 English syllables, approx 3-5-3.

    e.g. -

    Bucolic

    A child's game sunset

    Orange cat

  • ....ever listen to Stone in Focus............on WEED man!!! -jon stewart-

what a truly amazing song this is, theres so much more we're about to learn about this place we call the Universe. I love it.

  • This kind of music slows things down. I could go a week and not think about anything, or stop to observe myself or my surroundings. Listening to 5 minutes of this song makes that 5 minutes longer than one of those weeks. We get so used to rushing...I think thats why the comments on this video or better than most videos. I'd like to see what would happen if this was played to the entire would for a few hours.

  • @twilightkinko this music makes me think I could live to the end of the world just listening to this

  • @twilightkinko hopefully there will be another Pangea Day.

  • @twilightkinko

I know what you mean, I had this playing in the background while I was reading an article and it seemed like 15 minutes went by yet it was only at 2:50.

  • @twilightkinko want my life? got lots of time. always taking me the time when pressure & rush comes up. if i'm about to lose the job? who cares, i'm not my job.

  • @twilightkinko the entire what would do what for a few hours? What in hell are you fucking hippies going on about now?

  • technically this track isn't a song as songs have singing. or at least lyrics.

  • @clamantuanguyan True, but it's still music regardless :)

  • @clamantuanguyan that is about the most retardedest thing I've ever heard!!!!!

A song has to have words? singing? lyrics? Turn off the radio already

  • @clamantuanguyan The voice is simply another instrument. It follows certain notes and patterns, so do instruments. The vocal chords are just like another kind of synthesizer, or guitar.

  • @clamantuanguyan

    Haha, you're no music major.

  • Does anyone know of an albumn with this song on it? I reeeeealy want it on my ipod.

  • i taste fungi in my mouth. cosmic shroom attunement.

  • Now THIS is music :P

    (In all seriousness)

  • This is Aphex Twin? not Boards of Canada?

  • I possibly think that richard d's ambient works are so effective just becuase he was right in the center of it all doing the right things at the right time with the right heart. Think of all the musical stuff going on around 1994 plus his other music antics at the time before and there after. Peace Man!

  • the lens flare at the end just does it for me!

  • i like totally want to start a peace ambient walk to this

  • The song is mezmerizing to me. I heard this on SOMAFM on the internet under the Drone Zone Station. IT IS beautiful, BUT... at the same time, this is a very very simplistic song. The same 3 notes are repeated over and over again, with just a dash of other higher notes mixed in as accompanying notes. And this is actualyl the SHORTENED version of the song. I have the 10 minute version I downloaded from itunes (I think).

  • @SpectreNUT Ohh yeah 10 minutes in heaven

  • 5 years ago it was the summer holidays and I would put Aphex on and climb into bed. I remember waking up to tracks like this, Xtal, Rhubarb, Alberto Balsam, Tha, Heliosphan, etc. sometimes in the morning, or evening; when there's that twilight kind of light coming through the curtains. It's an odd feeling to wake up not knowing what time or day it is, and having this music set the context. Whatever your interpretation, that it affects us all in a deep way is heart warming.

  • in-plane with autechres vletrmx21

  • this song is beautiful in so many ways...it's so emotionally soothing and calming...

  • Do you think Selected Ambient Works II would be a good background music for a deep Ketamine experience?

  • @DayvanCowboy88 You don't get an experience with Ket lol, that's rubbish man. Shrooms + AfX is always win, haven't tried Salvia yet but that's the next port of call! :)

  • @danfrost313 ive done acid, shrooms, salvia and dmt but i tripped the best off ket and mdma. Did a line after a night out raving and the sofa i was laying on turned into a magic carpet. I was getting dragged through another universe. I had no idea what was going on i had completely forgot where i was and that i had done the k. Then i shouted out "i feel like im on a rollercoaster" and my mate answered, have you never had that experience on k, then i came out of it. Best Trip ever !!!!!

  • @danfrost313 don't bother trying to listen to music on salvia. there's no increased appreciation.

  • most tunes that manage to be simple n complex at the same time are amazing, this is one of them

  • tick tick tick.... goes life

  • this song seriously makes my heart slow down, its so quiet

  • I can't stop myself from loading this webpage up and delving deep into a lonely, subdued and content state of consciousness daily. If you can appreciate all of it's subtle splendours... this song can make loneliness beautiful.

  • life..

  • Reminds me of Loch Raven by Animal Collective, I'm pretty sure it was inspired by this song.

  • Even if no-one remembers you or your dreams, the actions you take in this life leave a silent legacy that will last an eternity. That is what this song makes me feel. Every choice no matter how trivial, every act of love or hatred, spreading out forever like ripples on a still pool.

  • Thanks for existing and appreciating this, I love you.

  • this song is amazing, brings me peace at mind.

  • reminds me of a rock in deep thought

  • @DmeshOnPS3 winner

  • only a genius can make music like this

  • Cool song!!

  • I can't believe how cool this song is, I tried listening to it with my eyes closed in a dark room and it just slowed my mind right down. I could feel my heart and breathing slow. Then images and scenes just climbed into my head. Standing in a whtie stone columbed building on a mountain then diving down into the sea below, sitting in a giant field and gazing at the night sky, standing on a hilltop and looking at a metropolis off in the distance in early winter. What a cool song.

  • Hay un buen proverbio; "La gente se ríe de mi por que soy diferente, yo me rio de ellos por que son todos iguales"

Sería un placer conocer gente diferente como ustedes.

  • crazy hwo ppl built those cathedrals waay back when... they're incredible lol. idk what we would do today w.o all our electronics n shit. i cant c us popin outa few cathedrals w.o it lol

    and god bless aphex <3<3<3<3333

  • reminds me of the computer game myst

  • I like this song, i can understand why people like it. Just his other music i find rather dull

  • This is what I imagine Jupiter sounding like if it had a voice. Just this noise playing over and over for the millions upon millions of years that planet has endured.

  • If you are reading this, and enjoying this wonderful track, try laying down on your back in your bed, set the music to a comfortable level, close your eyes and just drift away in the amazing tranquility this track will give you.

If you have done this, and truly experienced it, you will now what I'm talking about.

  • @frynsesmadrer1 i know.

  • They cannot here its depth because they are not listening. And they who were dancing were thought to be insane by "those" who could not hear the music.

  • This is great... Especially after a day of hard work. Really takes me to another dimension. It sounds so simple, but it isn't. Aphex is a miracle!

  • when ever i listen to this i always image a person that is slowly dying. don't ask why but i do. but it's in a peaceful way and ....

oh god this song is just to amazing for words. 5 stars forever...

  • SuperBluted: I appreciate it ..Its beyond beautiful

  • aphex twin= surprising everytime

  • please repeat this - for ever !

  • im probably gonna get murdered sayying this but reminds me of orion by metalica

  • @geoduct That's an awesome song.

  • @geoduct Don't get how this could be anywhere near Metallica, but I'm inspired to look up this Orion by Metallica.

  • @geoduct

yeah i know what you mean, same sort of organ/synth sound and volume swells.

  • @geoduct you're right....the sonority of this....instrument is the same

  • Stoned....this tune is fo0king EPIC. Words cant explain how Shamanistic this noise, this tune, vibration, truly is. Sooo tranquil, soothing, soul touching. WOW.

  • @Kajun666 I know its like you can be born, make a career, get married, die, discover the true nature of God, and then wake up realizing you put this song on repeat and fell asleep. Otherworldly.

  • is track in any other albums a part from Selected Ambient Works Volume II vinyl and cassette versions

  • Existential trance bordering on spiritual.

Most people would appreciate this if they would just listen to it.

  • After you hear this track (weather or not its the 1st or 4th time of listening to it in a row) listen to lichen, blue calx the ruhbarb in that order... they are the most relaxing tracks on saw II :).

  • So......so............deep.............deeper than life itself, existence itself, the universe in its entirety. I knows you, it knows your soul, As does the Evil Noise...

  • @NexCarnifex YOU! YOU'RE THE GUY WHO UPLOADED EVIL NOISE!

  • This is great but very repetitive... any other A.T. ambient tracks to reccommend?

  • the feeling is beauty you cant find in many other places

  • I hate that this was taken off of SAW II. It's one of the best tracks!

It has the same sort of transcendent beauty as Rhubarb and Matchsticks...

  • what an odd choice for the video. hmm, i dont think about this at all..... i am alone with how i felt when i first heard the song. *true story and quiet long* i think for you it was more about how the images you captured made you feel and this song fit that emotion. it is nice having the innate desire for peace.... nice vid btw. ^_^

  • Every time i hear this song, i always imagine the same thing in my mind: Everything is faded white, no gravity, you spin ever so slowly yet you can't move. It's so calm but deranged. You can't find this song creepy, it's just relaxing.

  • this song is simple yet deep

  • this is in spoilsbury toastboy. if u havent seen it yet check it out- some tight ass shit!!!

  • I can't even describe one emotion i feel while listening...its too hard to pinpoint a way explain them...the only thing i can think of is the song...the simplicity of genius that can hypnotize me into happiness...but it's not even happiness...its like pure contentness...like i would rather be here listening to this song than anywhere else...

  • This song really just takes me to a different plane of existence I think. To all the people that said to play it in a dark room or close your eyes, you couldn't be more right. I just get this feeling of floating through some deep unseen part of the universe.

  • @atxholdin Me too, closing my eyes and listening to this its amazing.

  • such a beautiful song, try meditating with it, your mind will display such wonders

  • This is my most favorite song by Aphex Twin.. it makes me think of strong sunlight reaching and spreading a bright rectangle of light into a strong stone sanctuary, and just laying in the shadow next to that bright light, and just sleeping through the day.

  • The guy below me does the EXACT same thing as me.

  • Very ambiguous song and that's why I like it! Fits in many different situations.

  • I love this song, it reminds me of standing on a hill i walk up at night, to look over the cit, and just stop and look around, just to take it in once in a while, its truely beautiful..

  • I want to have the main synth patch of this song!

... Am pretty sure though that it can't be put to better use than this.

  • sit in a pitch dark room, relax and take nice deep conscious breathes through your nose & out your mouth, while this song is playing. Follow your heart, you'll find out why. ; )
