If IR's fans don't like ARR, I can understand your feelings of emptiness, jealousy and anger. But guys tell me when IR or Yuvan or anyone else in India, can get an Oscar, a Grammy or Bafta for Music Score or for a Song in the future? It may not happen in at least 100 years! Believe me... at least more than 25 Filmfare Awards (both National and South). ARR did it in a very short time of entering the field in 1992. This is a stupendous achievement, which the whole world celebrates. Super!!!!

When IR took over the reign from MSV, many of MSV's fans did not like him. Likewise, when ARR took over the reign IR's fans don't like him. The fact is Tamil Cinema Music benefited the most from ALL this three Music Geniuses/Composers.. One thing ARR did in relatively short time is remarkable: he started off in Malayalam, then in Telugu, then came to work for IR in Tamil. Later, he quickly established in Tamil, Hindi and bagged 25 Filmfare Awards before snatching two Oscars, Grammy, Bafta etc.

ARR is a hardworker of this era. illayarajaa is a master and makes music with much ease. ARR's songs take time to seep in but illaya's keeps music simple and uncomplicated. He is the ISAI GNANI(Master of Music) ARR is ISAI PUYAL.(storm of music)... ARR for the present. Illayaraja is Forever.

Hey guys no offence illayaraja is the best even though I was born in the times of AR rahman. I Have seen ARR grow and am still a fan of his. illayaraja is the best and no one can deny it. For all the folks who do not know about his best movies here are some: BGM in Pallavi and Anupallavi is the best I have ever heard, Ninathale innikum, nayagan, Gitanjali, Dalapathi,Mounaragam, Annakili,Hey ram, Geetha( kannada) and he used few instruments in these songs, sometimes one and many more.

i dont know what the fight is all about. i love both ilayaraja and rehman and respect them equally. becoz they are two unique geniuses. u cannot compare them. thats silly. both are unique in their own ways. both brought new styles and singers into tamil music. .. rehman himself said, im nothing in front of msv and raja.. theyre like mountains and ive played in their films years ago. thats the humility of rehman... i dont know why hate arises.

I seen Most of Illayaraja fans hate to call Rahman as MusicalGod,But they forgot the point where Raja was also called as Music messaiah in earlier days.But My point of veiw both are Legends to their respective generations.More Over Rahman spread His name with shortest period,His stuff impressed the most people & Broken the bounderies,Invented New sounds!Gave recognition to many talented people behind a film music score. this is what He did the best..compare to Raja

@shakib99 ya ,Some of them pretend,& cheat themsleves..Eg-My relative One day he heard a song ,and told to me that This type of sound i never heard in my life before..asked me who composed this, i told rahman,then he started hating the song.. Basically he was Yuvanshankar raja fan,that song was Matakkali Matakkali from Dilli 6 ...that was happened on jan 14,2009.Even though the song touch his Heart ,he didn’t accept that the rahman is genius
