IMO the best way to make gold is reroll a druid to efficiently farm herbs and ores. Thats what i did and I make roughly 500-600g worth of mats an hour. (Use routes+ gathermate addon to farm efficiently). I get free flasks this way too, my guildy makes me my frost wyrms:).

I have a warrior and dk. DK out does the warrior 9 times out of 10. My DK can solo anything that my warrior can and more. Also has +20% mount speed, great for farming, and running on water is always nice. There is no down time with a DK because you always can top yourself off to full health.
