This temporary muzzle to be used in situations where you are in close physical contact with the dog. It is not intended to be used for more than a few minutes, and only when a real muzzle cannot be found.
NOTE: If you have a dog that is very determined to remove this collar, wrap the strapping around the back of the neck and then again forward under the chin and then tie. This method may place more pressure on the front of the throat, and is not recommended for dogs with trachea issues
@Jockalicious1 Remember to use a flat leash, NOT CORD - like the flexi leashes. This is important because
1. because the round leash is dangerous to wrap around your dog's muzzle
2. it is not as effective
Be sure to wrap 2x around the muzzle and tie in the back. The muzzle loops should be snug, NOT TIGHT and the knot on the wrap behind the head should be secure. The wrap behind the head is the only thing keeping this on the dogs head, so if they can get their paws on there - it will some off.
@Jockalicious1 - Is this a Pug, or other short nosed (Brachycephalic) dog? This technique will not work on those breeds. Once the muzzle is secure - for nail clipping, sensitive area grooming, ear cleaning, or an emergency situation, keep hold of your pet and do to allow them time to escape. You shouldn't wrap this around their head, let them go, and watch them scramble while pawing at and dragging their head
@Jockalicious1 "Toto" was a Carin Terrier, if i'm not mistaken - wiki-pet.com/breeds/dog/breed.php?breed_id=55&name=cairn+terrier but you will want to find another form of bark control.
