Spare me the PDK techno babble on how it's sooo trick! Save it for when ur gonna buy ur wife a C2 cab. I still think the 997.2's release was premature. and hurried. they shoulda waited to drop the turbo and gt3 in order to make the changes more substantial. the people at porsche get together and say, 'how can we update the model lineup the least but in order to still spur sales increases?' GOD! a move to direct injection and employing the PDK was a good move but the GT3 got NEITHER!

The m3 convertible performs no where near close. It's 400+lbs heavier than the coupe. There is a vid of the 911s cab smoking the m3 conv. And anyone who tries to insult a Porsche with 1/4 times loses all credibility since that's not what p-cars are for.

Yes i agree, i get hacked off with people on here slagging off Porsches. I have had both cars at the same time. Infact i never drove my M3 again once i got my C2S CAB. The M3 is alot heavier and doesnt perform nothing like the 997s.

The M3 performs better than this except for 0-60 times. But it still close because by using launch control you can hit 60 in 4.3secs.

I suggest you doing some research a GT3 is better than all those cars, and you say Dual-clutch has been around for a while...guess what Porsche developed it 20 years ago.

well the gtr comes pretty close and actually beats the gt3 in some tests. and im betting that the r8 v10 will destroy the gt3. as for the bmw, it is a much better daily driver and has good track performance for a much better price. and the porsche in this video isnt even a gt3, so my previous comment stands - dont get this car.

and i know that porsche developed the dual clutch tranny 20 years ago, but they just started using it in their production cars while others have been doinfg so already

The GTR is all about fast lap times, nothing else. Since youre a car enthusiast, have you seen the topgear episode where Jeremy doesnt have much fun in the GTR, while the slower CLK63 is praised by him and the stig? Lap times arent all that matter, in fact that should be one of the last things. The way it feels and the engaging experience should be the most important.

oh i agree with you that a car isnt all about track times but about the overall experience. i guess i just dont see the magic in a 911. i dont like the rear engine layout that tries to kill you with every mistake. speaking of clarkson, have you seen his comparison of the gt2 to the lp 560-4? id take the labo - looks great, handles great, and goes like hell.

the lambo also costs a lot more, and the cost of ownership of ferraris and lambos these days are unreal. A 5,000 mile service is about 10K dollars.

true but the porsche is pretty expensive too. compared to some of its more "normal" competitors the porsche is pretty far out there. i just dont see myself ever buying a 911. engine is in the wrong place, the styling seems off, and frankly its just not a car i get excited about. not like it matters anyway, i wont be able to afford one for a long ass time...
