That's the problem with SG's. The guitar swing was looking good but the strap behind the body makes it pitch sideways leading to a fail. Also, lower your guitar its too high up for guitar swings anyway lol thats probably why it happened.

It's funny how everyone's obsessed with him swinging around a "Gibson" like it's the freakin Holy Grail or something. It's an SG Special Faded. You know what's so special about them? They're not actually Special. Note the rosewood fretboard, dot inlays and lack of neck binding. A "real" SG has an ebony fretboard, trapezoid inlays, and full neck binding, increasing the playability, tone, appearance and overall value of the guitar. It's not a POS by any means, but at $700 new it's pretty average.

@RancidReality Yes. Check any guitar catalog. $700 is about the median price for a new guitar. It's actually a very LOW price for a brand new USA-made guitar, let alone one carrying the Gibson name. So as far as USA-made Gibson's go, this is technically a "budget model."

I personally think Gibson is overrated, but maybe that's just me. You are lucky to have found a guitar that you have enjoyed for so long for such a low price. Most in that price range are barely playable and don't stay in tune.

You need more slack on the strap. Most guitarists that do swings, also play with the guitar at junk-level, not belly-level. SG's are also pretty lightweight, requiring a faster swing than a standard-weight guitar to generate enough centripetal force to keep it from hitting you in the face.

@DartAmps Dude, Gibsons aren't really that good. They are built to have the most sustain. But they have the least sustain compared to any other brand like Fender brands like that. They suck. Another thing there headstock is retarded because if your guitar falls and that headstock gets hit, It will break. Unlike guitars with a straight headstock that isn't bent backwards.
