Jimmy Carter was a terrible president. I never thought anyone could possibly be worse in that job until Obama. At least old Jimmy will not go down in history as the worst we've ever had. He's now second.
@gilream Amazing you could say that when Carter's administration was bracketed by Nixon/Ford and Reagan/Bush, and since then we've had Clinton and another oozing, festering helping of Bush. What's your criteria for pickin fly shit outta pepper, hoss?
@mattlove1 ... I am old and wise...my criteria is not to respond to ignorant sheep like yourself. Here is a novel idea for ya..why not try to do something uplifting today?
@gilream you are not as old as me, and you certainly aren't as wise. I'd say a reflexive republican party liner is the sheep around here wouldn't you? Oh that's right, your policy is to ignore people who have a better grasp of reality than you - though you already dropped this snarky lilttle jibe didn't you, you lying hypocrate. Something uplifting? Like dressing down an ignorant, conformist fool? Just did, felt great, have a nice day, hoss.
@mattlove1 ..you may be old (i doubt it) but you certainly are not wise. You remind me of the hostile, know nothing, sheltered generation that is now occupying the city parks at the behest of radical leftists who want destroy corporations and burn the country. If you think Jimmy Carter was a great president that's all you need to say. Old Jimmah was a liberal tool. The current crop of Democrats are openly Communist. Bone up on Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, Chavez, Van Jones and Obama.
@gilream Your reading comprehension is terrible. I never said Jimmy Carter was a great president, he was a fiscal conservative and a foreign policy hawk to started many of the disasterous policies that Reagan and others have continued to this day. It's hilarious that you'd group the people you put together, it's a bit like asking "what do thise people have in common: Jesus Christ, Charlie Manson, Ghandi, Idi Amin, Stalin and Goldwater?" Bone up on that grouping, Bucko, knock yourself out.
@mattlove1 And I am a proud supporter of the Occupy Wall Street crowd - idiots have been running things too long, and it's great to see an outbreak of Democracy, too bad you can't recognize it for what it is. If you don't like it, move to Burma, or North Korea. You know why Europe has to turn to China for a helping hand, and didn't even bother with the US? Because of the jerks who have been runing things into the ground for the last 5 decades, and tools like you.
@mattlove1 ... Two wolves and a sheep are voting on what to eat for lunch. The vote is 2 to 1. That's pure democracy; another name for it is Mob Rule. Our government is not a pure democracy; ours is a Representative Republic. You know nothing of Jimmy Carter either; he was neither a fiscal conservative nor a fp hawk. Ask the US Embassy personnel in Tehran from 1978; prisoners because of Carter's pathetic weakness. You are extremely ill informed and a waste of my time. Go make french fries.
It would be nice to get corruption out of government and decent people in it. No political party seems to care about the integrity of government. Those words almost seem diametrically opposed, but they don't HAVE to be. Integrity begins with an individual, and people with differing opinions can both have it. If they're mature enough to discuss it with each other, that's true strength. I'd love to see a strong America, a united USA. United we stand, divided we fall.
Since nobody will have to listen to him for very much longer, I think it would be okay if we actually paid attention to what he has to say about government corruption and what real, true bureaucratic transparency could do for the citizens of America.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd actually like to live in the country I was always *told* I lived in.
@zEropoint68 Jimmy Carter was disappointing, not because he was some kind of wimpy anomoly like the peabrains think - no, he imposed fiscal austerity, setting the pattern of republicans spending like drunken sailors and the dems balencing the mess on the back of the poor - he supported Indonesias crimes in East Timor, he started the policy of supporting the Mujahideen in Afghanistan - which Reagan gets the "credit" for (and I'd love to give the creepy old ghoul credit, but it's not true...)
@mattlove1 But I have to say, as an ex-prisident he has some moral authority, the only one in my lifetime that's done good. They usually just try to make as much money as they can, giving speeches, Carter has actually contributed.
It's also on the soundtrack for Off the Charts: The Song Poem Story. Jamie Meltzer directed the documentary for PBS. The guy who wrote the song is Waskey Elwood Walls Jr. Gene Marshall performs it.
no you fucktard if you read my comment again you will see that in fact love this SONG like pedophiles love children, not that I am in fact a pedophil(forgot the e there). But I guess if you have an hardxcore rawcore name like projekill you have the right to misspell the dogshit our of easy ass words.
Hey you fucking Brazilian Asshole. When you speak in that Fucking dirty Tongue you use with all that stupid badmouth spelling i can..t stand it anymore. Are you primitive or what? I guess yes you Bastard Son Nigger. Go and ripe some Bananas because where you came from the people love it much.
@bobwhisky Bob, I agree that this guy is a dumbass racist american douchebag, but I lived in Alberta for four years, and I saw a lot of burgers and beer consumed by Canadians, I saw the worst urban sprawl north of the Rio Grande, and I saw politicians crooked as a dogs hindleg selling tar sand oil to to the dumbass racist american douchebags for pennies on the barrel, and I saw some of the most beautiful country in the world turned into a lunar landscape....
@mattlove1 and the kids like to go out drinking and stab each other with knives, and everybody hates the Native people and the French speakers, and I watched the whole country give that cracker Harper a majority after he proved what a slime and a crook he was for - what was it 4 years? -as a minority leader... and I watched the CBC turn into NPR, and if I suggested that Canada was losing its way and acting just like Americans, hockey-loving slackjaws told me to just go the fuck home. So I did.
@Projektilll So this guy speaks two languages, and you can't even speak one. I've been to Brazil 4 times now, and its easy to see why they are the future and we are the past. And then somebody like you comes along and confirms it in such a dramatic way. Nice going, I hope people don't think you speak for all of us. Oh, I know, about 96% of us are ignorant crackers like you, but there a few exceptions.
@drpessimistanticant This guy "Brian Dewan" does a cover of it here on youtube, singing it and playing it on the autoharp. just search on his name. Maybe he will tell you the chords
This sounds more like Funk.
