good old britsh rail way wish the turn it bk to britsh rail then all profits could be pumed bk into the rail way instead of having to use tax payers money it make sence that is way the govermeant whant do it cose it be to simple
@mikechick221 What profits? lol BR was state-subsidised, the current rail setup is currently subsidised... railways will needs state subsidy. But that's in the same way as the roads receive state subsidy too of course! (Perhaps if the roads were privatised, without any subsidies, then the railways would become profitable..?)
@zawlinmoe That's the point - it's a joke on the usual disclaimer you see at the beginning of films that any possible connection with real people, other films, etc, is pure coincidence or similar. (When of course its obvious that it's not coincidental - the best being the warning at the start of South Park episodes!)
You did have to admire British Rail for their self-depreciation "We're Getting There". Not one current U.K Train operator can truthfully say that now, can they?
@pss1967 lol its funny you should say that because my boss used to say the same thing....shame i hadent remembered these adverts at the time as i would have, had some real smart answers for him loool!
geting there you have trains canceled or skwisse all in to small trains were far from getting there we need new larger faster trains and then not to mention the track needs updating
We're getting there - it meant that they're getting closer to a relative "perfection"... Of course they're always "getting there"! No one's bloody perfect!
