There have been cases where really horrible fighters got in a lucky punch on someone who would have beaten them any other day or unluckiness in the case of the kid who was in a street fight and punched the vagus nerve with enough force to stop a guy's heart. I was actually referring more to street fighting. Sports like MMA reduce instances of luck by limiting the arsenal of fighters so that it is more likely that the man with more skill will win the bout though there are still cases of a lucky knockout punch every now and then.

As for the topic, I said what I said because Seth is a solid Karate/MMA fighter and if you watch his other fights his technique is great. Sure, that little pushkick and jab might have looked weak but it was enough to win, wasn't it?

Kimbo does suck but he also has heavy hands and 235 lbs of muscle (compared to Seth's 205). Seth didn't beat Kimbo just because "Kimbo sux". He beat him because he is the superior fighter and he wouldn't have even been in that cage if he wasn't the real deal.

It comes down to who is better at the second of contact. There have been cases where really horrible fighters got in a lucky punch on someone who would have beaten them any other day or unluckiness in the case of the kid who was in a street fight and punched the vagus nerve with enough force to stop a guy's heart. That definitely wasn't skill.

I was actually referring more to street fighting. Sports like MMA reduce instances of luck by limiting the arsenal of fighters so that it is more likely that the man with more skill will win the bout though there are still cases of a lucky knockout punch every now and then.
