Shift up is to Shift your gear up!

In drag races you need to manually shift your gears at the peak revolution in order to achieve the maximum traction and have the max torque to win the race! If you short shift you loose speed, if you over rev you burst ur engine! If you Need Speed..u need to be shifting perfectly!

One time me and my dad drag raced on this game. he hit the boost too early, i laughed at him because i knew then i would win. Right as i hit the boost he started laughing, I asked him why, he looks over at me (we were playing on those steering wheels) and hits the boost button on his steering wheel... He never boosted early, he just wasn't pushing all the way down on the pedal, lol...

no ones engines should blow, you need to use the nos at the start as your going through your gears. Start the nos as your in 2nd gear. You need to get to your end speed as soon as possible, not eventually get there then push it a bit more near the end, huge diffenece!

@TehEvilWolf No, You need to get to your top speed as soon as possible! if you set your gears correctly, you should jump at the start with 2 wheels in the air, holdin nos to go through the gears. it doesnt matter when others use theres, if you do this right you will leave them in the dust. reachin end speed halfway-finish and reachin it start -midway is a huge difference. The latter being better. If you cant win with this, you are doin somethin wrong.

They're easy, just shift up in the right time and you'll win. You should use a car with good acceleration and top speed in drag. Don't waste woney on steering boosting car parts.

You need to change gears, or you're waiting too long to change gears, in the bottom left hand corner you should see a red line go up, before that reaches the top, you've "got to" change gears, but if you're in 6th gear already, just ease off the throttle a bit and wait for it to fall, and look for someone to draft on if possible, I hope that help :S
