Hey conan you should drag the clip you have into the timeline at the bottom. Then right click on the clip selected on the timeline and you'll see a list with the option to mute. Hope this helps.

No it won't it'll just be a noisy jumble but you could reduce the sound of the clip your using and put music over it if you time it correctly.
