He would not be playing in this style if it wasn't for Django. He was the master of jazz guitar there has never been anyone better. There is more to jazz than the ability to play fast. Lizards unlike goats are not known for their musical tastes

Love the technique but this is not Django. More like Les Paul without the electronics. Exercises put to time. I like it but would prefer something that let's me know there are sweet notes between the speed rifs. Thats Django, sweet notes.

I agree. The playing is just too clean and busy for this kind of music. It's like a shredder or Classical guy who moonlights as a Gypsy Jazzer. Lovely playing and technique, but it's missing the extra craft that other Gypsy Jazz guys put into the music, that extra bite and snarl, those weird rhythms and beautifully placed pauses. I dunno, people seem to like it and he seems to be enjoying himself, so good for him:)
