She was doing great until the 3rd and 2nd to last questions in Round 1. If she were to save those two jumps for the $250,000 and $500,000 question, she would have seen the Million Dollar Question. But still, $100,000 is a lot of money.

Easy to say if you're sitting at home watching the show. However, a lot of people tend to doubt themselves as they get higher up. She really needed the money. Even if she had seen the MDQ, keep in mind that she would have skipped the dollar amounts past the $100,000 anyway. You'd have to have a lot of confidence to go for the million dollars and a guaranteed $100,000 instead of (a chance) of an extra $900,000 tends to be more appealing in this economy.
