Well, many Christian ideas come from old books including the ideas of Aristotle etc. This is evident in the idea of the trinity which was in consequence of the council of Nicea which was attended by individuals who in large part were familiar and relied on not only scripture, but Aristotles idea of "the good", which suggests that everything is a replication of a truth or idea from one supreme source.
I will do an upload showing stool to prove evolution exists. I will show the stool of a human versus the stool of a dog, but first I have to fish mine out of the toilet and the dogs out of the grass... And then show the evolution of different strains of bacteria mutating when their habitat changes from human to dog stool.

No best hypothesis. Since they are all impossible to be proved as the real origin, what evolutionists have is an array of different ways life COULD have originated. It doesn't make them any less valuable, especially if we are able to prove any of them in a lab.
Abiogenesis is still a mystery, and even if a plausible cause is discovered, there is no absolute certainty that it is the actual event. Even Darwin speculated on "primordial soup". Meaning all trillion of tons of organic material, by the rules of buoyancy, remained on the surfece, subject to energy from the sun and 1000's of varying environmental conditions over billions of years, (something that cannot be simulated in tiny test tubes in 100 years), it took but a spark to ignite the fire.
cruelfate45: Additionally, All life is composed of 1 celled animals. We as humans, we are made up of 100 trillion socially cooperating, comunicating, 1 celled organisms. Our senses, our health, our beauty, and our soul is thier technology. The only thing that has been evolving over the billions of years that life has been existing on earth, is the morphology and complexity of the self replicating 1 celled animals.
In addition, it should be noted that even IF it was conclusively proven that god created the first life, evolution would STILL be the tool that resulted in the diversity of life we see today and explains how life forms changed over time as evidenced in DNA/RNA and in the fossil record.
You might push the 'stool' model one step further. The creationist start with a belief (the seat) and then try to make the facts fit within that belief. The stool is upside down! Now that's a stool I'd prefer not to use.
Nice video. Life does not explain the existence of God in the ID view, though. If you want to word it this way to make it seem like circular reasoning, you could apply it to anything. This would be like saying natural selection explains the theory of evolution, and the theory of evolution explains natural selection.
you video is very eloquent and makes the point better than i tried to!
I debated in a video that creationsist don't understand that evolutions is millions of small changes that build over time, and that if the flood had been real, no one would have survived according to their claims of pressure differences. I made that video whilst playing the "pokemon" theme song.

Plus, biological compexity isn't the "main" example that isn't "old books or traditions", it's mental complexity. Can love, feelings, emotion, be explained by a simple change in a microscopic genome structure? If you've ever fallen in love, can you ascribe the surge of emotion that drowns out all reason to a chemical imbalance?
I can't. Religion without science was indeed blind, but science without religion was the Nazis.
my man, i think religion even without science was nazi, religion is not only blind, but a represive way of thinking; by the other way, science always provides us a infinite number of probablilites about how was life created.
so, my brother, if you think science without religion may be nazi...
An infinite number of probabilities is useless in determining what is most probable, or anything emperical for that matter. Did you mean infinite number of possibilities? Still, that is absurd, science narrows the possibilities down into a finite set of concepts that we can utilize.
excuse moi, if i disturb you, but i had to say another thing...love, real love, it's an emotion only human beings like us can feel, it's really mistique because is even more ancient than a god's conception and it has nothing to do with religion, nor science, it's the consecuence of the power of our emotions/imagination
There are almost no traits we humans hold dear that are solely human. I have seen a fox sit on the edge of a lonely dirt road and howl in mourning by the corpse of its mate. Elephants, in passing the bones of a deceased fellow, even one they never knew in life, will stop and pay affectionate attention to the bones for several minutes before moving on. Love, War, senseless aggression, none of these are solely human concepts. Insects have been waging wars for millions of years.
"There are almost no traits we humans hold dear that are solely human. "
Wonderful, eloquent post. A few days ago a cow died in my neighbors pasture. It was obviously ill for several days before succumbing. The cow was under nearly constant guard and protection by others of its herd in order to fend away predators. Since it died two days ago, other cattle have gathered around it periodically, almost as if they are bidding farewell.
Many of the nazis were deeply religious christians. Hitler's own core group, while rejecting traditional christianity, sought to found their own religion, and if they had won the war, a thousand years from now, I can safely wager that SOMEONE would be quoting from that Nazi bible and claiming it to be both literal and infallible.
Have you ever heard of Acetylcholine? Dopamine? Serotonin? Endorphins? "falling in love" is a completely chemical event. I've felt some intense feelings but I'm willing to admit where they came from.

You guys fail to see that there isn't a conflict between Creationisn and the (still theory) idea of evolution. Evolution explains HOW a species is where it is today. Creationism explains WHY it came to be there. As any good journalist will tell you, if both of those questions are not answered, there is no story.
I don't think you understand the meaning of a "scientific theory" a fact holds less weight in science. Evolution is JUST a theory, kind of like GRAVITY. When the apple falls from the tree and hits you on the head it is explained by scientific theory, not scientific fact. Any good journalist would know the meaning of words in the context they are being used.
A Theory is far more delicate than you say it is. It´s not only based on ´some´ facts, theories have a very high standard, it tells us an intricate, but still understandable story of how things work. It´s a stronger weight than ´Facts´, ´Evidence´ and even ´Laws´ altogether. While evolution is gaining ground, with progressing science, Religion will lose ground at the same rate.
JumpDeluxe: You have described A Theory far more eloquently than I. I was attempting to explain Theory in a basic way as I find many people do not understand the basic ground work necessary to comprehend the true beauty of Theory. I was an actuarial-science major in university and I greatly appreciate, and agree with, your explanation.
This is a very good video, i love this very 'creative' stool metaphor :)
Creationism does not ask for understanding, it asks for blind belief, because it is based on religion, and religion itself is blind belief. Questions, and the answers they eventually lead to, are the bane of religion. This is why science was for many centuries controlled and held hostage by the church in europe. The only scientists and scholars allowed to practice were those sanctioned by the church.
Look back in history. The greatest scientific minds on record were punished by the church for their findings which contradicted religious dogma. The universe centered around earth for centuries, the earth was flat for centuries, all matter was made of the elements of earth, air, fire, and water for centuries, and now, the intellectual descendants of these religious dogmatics maintain that all life was created as is by god, as they have done For Centuries.
The domesticated banana was bred by humans making use of the tools of evolution. Now banana plants are threatened by a fungus that has evolved enough to be resistant against any means we have against fungus. Using the knowledge of evolution, scientists are now trying to breed a *new* domesticated banana that is resistant against this fungus. And why? Just so YOU can eat your domesticated, tasty bananas.

DNA research and molecular biology have given us microscopic eyes into the world of descent with modification and evolution in action, but:
it has also cut the theory of evolution off at the knees in the area of origins of life...
what is the best and most current hypothesis for the origin of life from an evolutionist perspective?

everyone understands diversification, adaptation, competition and survival of the fittest/natural selection...but:
molecules are not in competition, trying to survive, adapt, so:
how did DNA and the first complete cell form? surely it did and that question is within science to answer...
