I feel as though the Glen beck of this show is the best of him. I dont agree with him on many views but he has always been very intelligent. I say there are lots of interesting points and I stand by that go and read books and educate yourself. America is a hybrid Republic that uses some democratic systems. The Federal Judicial system and electoral college are examples of how the American system is not Democratic. Caucusing is NOT a pure democratic system nor is the primary system for that matter. Even the "Democratic" process of petition is balanced by a oligarchical counsel system. Democracy in its purest form was specifically prevented by the founding fathers as it is a form of collective Oppression that undermines Liberties.
The goal of the constitution is to prevent special interests, the wealthy, the politically powerful AND the majority from overwhelming the rights and freedoms of minorities and individuals. Collectivist governments assume that those in power have rights the individual does not have--this idea is extremely old and always leads to oppression. The group can not oppress the individual or minority through superior numbers: that is the flaw of Democracy and is prevented in this Republic.
In the strictest form: we are not. The definition has evolved to match American democracy which is partial representation delegated to elected officials. Nominated positions like the FCC chief, FED chief, GAO positions...etc are examples on NON democratic portions of our government.
The popular vote, in most instances, is meaningless.

Glenn Beck sounded reasonable for me when he was at CNN and I like his new show at Fox. It's a lot different but that's okay. He's a smart guy and he seems very optimistic and cynical on the issues. Glenn Beck is smart and I like the way he presents the news. He's not a zombie or hippie. A reasonable conservative. Hmm.. we need more guys like that.

He is. At least he provides alternate reasons for feeling support toward Mitt Romney economics and closer to true conservativism. I also like how he points out that Bush is not conservative, and doesn't hold to conservative values. I like that. I'd rather have that than some people I knew, who said, "We Need A Mormon President". It's great to note that he admits to truth about how Obama is as well.

I say there are lots of interesting points and I stand by that go and read books and educate yourself. It is ironic in the 'age of information' most people have been conditioned to become attention deficit, immediate gratification and a 'sound byte' generation lacking in lives that have much depth, thoughtfulness or meaning. I truly appreciate Glenn Beck and often Larry King's comments. I believe if you listen you can learn something from others.

Autocracy has nothing to do with democracy. Autocracy is a form of despotic government in which one self appointed leader holds all the power. Monarchy isn't Autocracy either. In a Monarchy yes, there is one main ruler, but that ruler holds limited power.

America is a hybrid Republic that uses some democratic systems. The Federal Judicial system and electoral college are examples of how the American system is not Democratic. Caucusing is NOT a pure democratic system nor is the primary system for that matter. Even the "Democratic" process of petition is balanced by a oligarchical counsel system. Democracy in its purest form was specifically prevented by the founding fathers as it is a form of collective Oppression that undermines Liberties.

The goal of the constitution is to prevent special interests, the wealthy, the politically powerful AND the majority from overwhelming the rights and freedoms of minorities and individuals. Collectivist governments assume that those in power have rights the individual does not have--this idea is extremely old and always leads to oppression. The group can not oppress the individual or minority through superior numbers: that is the flaw of Democracy and is prevented in this Republic.

In the strictest form: we are not. The definition has evolved to match American democracy which is partial representation delegated to elected officials. Nominated positions like the FCC chief, FED chief, GAO positions...etc are examples on NON democratic portions of our government.
The popular vote, in most instances, is meaningless.
