@arasina1 most of the lore of world of warcraft is based over events that happened in warcraft 1,2 and 3 for instance in WoW you couldnt play as the forsaken if it wasnt for arthas leading the scourge to kill sylvanis windrunner which lead to the events of her causing an undead civil war and taking undercity for the forsaken. but warcraft 1,2 and 3 are all RTS games just like age of empires

if you are into rpg games that is. warcraft 3 tft is the best strategy ever and will always be. wow is a big waste of time. i done it 2 years and you will never be the best player, and you willl never have the best gear. its more bout gear than it is bout skill. and normal people dont have 10 hours or more a day to play. It was fun for 2 years, but when you have 3 level 80 chars the magic of wow is soon gone.

I would have to say that Warcraft 3 and Starcraft are both the best. Each of them has a different gameplay theory and it's really hard to compare them. Warcraft 3 was focused on having small armies with lots of microing, while Starcraft focused on having large armies with more macromanagment.

As for macro vs micro, it's highly situational. When I'm building my army, I'm just massing up production and trying to get everything going, so that's very much macro. But, when I'm engaging the enemy, I need to micro my spellcasters and be on the lookout for what the enemy is trying to focus fire on so I can pull some units back.

Sometimes I just mass Zerg, sit back and watch. The ultimate macro combat, lol
