  • derka derka @ all the ignorant gay bashing in these comments. stop drinking tap water all you stupid twangy derka derkas - its eating your brain power away

  • WHAT ARE U GAY PEOPLE TRYING TO PROVE!

  • _YOURFREEGAYWEBSITE...C0M_ i'd have to agree with you,up to a piont!i really don't giva a shit 'bout those "freakd" as you surely called 'em.i'm not gay either, and i have no problem with those who prefare a different way to have sex...and i really agree with you about the bisexual, or lezbians.i like wemen no matter their sexual interests!Long Life to the Lez!

  • gays are deseased people. how else can they explain themselfs working so horribly against the natural order of creation. when will they realize that humans are gifted with intelligence and wisdom.

one thing is for shure, they have past the point of no return and are destined for autodestruction.

  • you are not educated, but indoctrinated, amigo.

  • marriage is religious, bottom line.

we dont need gays butt fucking in Gods name

  • Proverbs 16:25

  • IM SORRY... I voted yes and feel like shit, im sorry the more i think about it i realize gay marriage wouldnt affect my marriage and im sorry for trying to restrict your lives..IM SORRY

  • Many black people are now the Klu Klux Clan against gay people.

  • The right to spend your life with a consensual partner isn't a right? WTF.

Want to know what isn't a right? You forcing your belief on others. Grow a pair and get out of their bedrooms.

  • I hope the gays and lesbians don't subconsciously want the Democrats to lose the national election(s) in November by bringing this up this year. Do they want the right to marry that badly that this outcome could result?

  • Stop trying to rehinge the closet door, johns3SoCal. We will have the right to marry and Barack Obama will be the President.

  • Marriage derives from the word 'to merge into one'. Marriage is not founded upon the ability to make babies, save lots of money, own property, nor be upstanding people in a religious context within society. Marriage is the merging of to souls who are in love, regardless of what sex one is, love is not defined by one's set of sex organs. Love is pure and simple, from the heart.

  • Interestingly, the bible does not condemn Lesbians. Women and Men can't lay with animals but there is no restriction between 2 women. Why all the fuss about 2 men laying together? Could it be that the context has been lost or altered?

The religious argument against gay marriage and gay rights is little different than many other conflicts with faulty bible interpretation. Two people wanting to solidify a union is a good thing; cheers to all June couples!

  • because, just as in Nazi Germany, women were seen as being "treatable" (less than in other words), and therefore, not as great a threat.

  • Possible, I don't immediately discount it. The bible doesn't say that women are excused and that X and Y should be done to treat their "illness." Also, it does say that women cannot have sex with animals in the next scripture or just above it. So is sex with animals not treatable? Given that teenagers could be stoned for rebellion, I'm thinking there is a different explanation.

  • as well you shouldn't discount it, because it's true. If you watch the documentary Paragraph 175, you'll find this out, but there's other sources for it, too.

  • How the Nazi's dealt with male vs. female homosexuals and the original context of the bible scripture are not necessarily the same. Thank you for bringing Paragraph 175 to my attention. The clip is a very clear message of why we must not allow closed mindedness to continue. Homosexuals are human beings not concentration camp fodder to be dismissed or experimented on. Jesus Christ would not have been a Nazi.

  • Are you high or something?

  • Initiatives that turn voters against each other are the LAST thing that Californian need!

Shame on the Republican Party for bringing this issue up in *every* election.

  • Then it would go to the US Supreme court..... We need a couple more liberal nominations before I'm comfortable with that.

  • Don't let these bigots write hate into the state constitution.

  • I don't care if Christian beliefs believe homosexuality is a sin because it is not part of my belief. Since there is freedom of religion, you should only hold power over your beliefs within your church and I should be able to hold my beliefs and practices as legally as you hold yours! I am wiccan and all forms of love, sexuality, and pleasure are sacrid. So how dare you impose your religious beliefs on me! You hold no priority over what my religious practices allow me to do!

  • Since in your religion you can say people can not get married under your beliefs, I should legally be able to get married under my religion since there is freedom of religion and there is also seperation of church and state. If your church wishes to not practice ordaning gay marriage that is fine, but to impose your religion on all others even when some don't have the same religion is rediculous! SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE! Dose that exist anymore?Or are we still controlled by your religion?

  • well seeing how my religion honors all forms of sexuality and love, I am able to get married to a man or a woman. So who are you to say your religious beliefs have priority over mine? Since marriage is purly a religious seramony, is it not up to my religion on weather or not I am allowed to marry someone of the same sex? Even though I don't believe in your hatefull religion of power? Since in my religion it is allright, should that not be legality enough for me to get married?

  • Same-sex Marriage NOW!

  • Ok BigTexan, since marriage is purely a religious institution let's get rid of marriage licenses altogether! Go to your church and do whatever you want, but if you want the legal protections of marriage you'll have to do what gays have been doing for years and go pay a lawyer thousands of dollars to draw up power of attorney contracts and such just so you can't be denied the right to visit your spouse in the hospital.

  • Your argument is full of holes.

And God didn't write the Bible, buddy.

I sort of wish the south would succeed again.

  • HAHAHA... that made my day. :D

  • Well, despite the slight misspelling, that was a good comment, quite funny.

Here's a funny story though. according to someone I know who takes part in the student program C.O.N.A. (congress on national affairs, where student delegates from each state go and debate topic) said that one year, all the students from the southern states stood up and did a mock secession from the union. Once they finished, though, all the CA and WA delegates stood and Thanked Them! I laughed my ass off.

  • I always disagree when Christians say that by praying to god you can change your sexuality. Im christian myself, scratch that, im a follower of jesus christ, call me what you will

  • ahh sorry.. i pressed that post comment button early. ill start from where i left off.

Anyway, all the way from 5th grade to 7th i continuously prayed to god to change me. Every day, usually more than once. I wanted it sooo bad, but did it happen, NO. Im still gay, and now that i can fully accept that im happy just the way i am. No amount of praying to god is going to change your sexuality. I learned that the hard way.

  • Dear California: Don't let the religious bigots write gay hate into law.

  • This is what's wrong with initiatives and referendums that modify state constitutions.

A slim majority seems to favor gay marriage in CA, but most who are in favor don't have a strong opinion. This hasn't been a top priority for anybody except the Republican Party.

The minority who are opposed are fiercely passionate about their hatred of gay men and lesbians.

If people who don't care don't vote, the minority could easily win, and pass an amendment that violates the U.S. Constitution.

  • That's not even Tyranny of the Majority.

I guess you'd have to call it 'Tyranny of the Minority'.

  • *If they succeed in criminalizing marriage, I mean.

Dear people of California: Please VOTE in November. And don't trash your own state constitution by criminalizing marriage. Marriage is a good thing, regardless of who does it.

  • "marying each other"

    See? It's a pun.

Oh, reesman22, why are you so in favor of fornication and promiscuity? Didn't your parents teach you that fornication is a sin? That's why they call it "living in sin".

  • lunareclipse601,

We are ALL sinners. Marriage is a positive thing. I can completely understand why two people who fall in love would want to make a lifelong commitment to each other.

This issue is just being exploited by the Republican Party which searches endlessly for issues to highlight in order to DIVIDE Americans and DISTRACT us from issues that affect everybody.

  • The fact that you can amend the constitution (think about what the constitution is supposed to be) with a simple majority is staggering. And dangerous.

  • You're right. Voters should be protective of their constitutions and vote against any change unless there has been a thorough debate in which the drawbacks of the change are carefully examined. In 219, the U.S. Constitution has only had to be amended 27 times. It's not something that should be done hastily.

  • I'm so glad other people understand that!

  • We have NO evidence that Obama has risked AIDS (i.e - that he is gay). (When Obama was 2 years old, his parents divorced, and his father returned to Kenya.) Obama is in excellent health - He often jogs three miles and has no "excess" body fat. He has a healthy blood pressure of 90 over 60, low cholesterol and a strong heart.

  • I want to have a gay wedding.

And I want to have a gay divorce.

There is just too much cock out there

for me to hook up with just one.

I want to be like that one lady on

    As The World Turns,

Lisa and a myriad of names of all the men

    she married.

  • Boo! Rights for all!

  • GO GAYS!

  • NO GAYS!
