The authors should read The Biggest Secret by David Icke, just going through it and already I wonder where Joss Wheldon got some of his stories from, give it a go to at least the first 3 = 4 chapters and you'll see what I mean, its available to read online just google it.
@LermanProductions I agree, but . . .I hope this isn't a stupid question, is this a fake trailer, or a real trailer for a joke documentary, because I'd like to see that.
Check out the Book of Lies subtitled Liber 333 by the wonderful Aleister Crowley - though granted I don't understand some of what Crowley is sayhing - I am not an EA Freemason and certainly not a Royal Arch initiate, but to those who have initiated eys, let them read the secrets therein
This showcases the structural similarity between religion & conspiracy theories: they're both distractions from the world of human beings, in which I include: the world of ideas, the sensuous world, the world of discovery, of ethics, of beauty, of love, of science, of ACTION/of POLITICS. & this is why governments, far from discouraging conspiracy theories, are FOND of them, because they distract people from seeing the harm that governments do in the open, before our eyes. Same goes for religion.
EXACTLY. I was pretty disheartened during the Democratic national convention to see that one of the biggest protests was for 9/11 "Truth." The fanaticism and irrationality of conspiracy theorists is shockingly similar to religious fundamentalism. They show the exact same detachment from reality and unwillingness to change their views under any circumstances.
...TV masterminds Joss Whedon and Damon Lindelof are part of the "cast" in a stealthy online video that's being billed as a trailer for "the greatest movie that didn't exist." Promoting Brad Meltzer's upcoming novel The Book of Lies, they speculate on a possible connection between Biblical brother-killer Cain and comic-book icon Superman. In the Olympics of geekdom, this is our dream team."
most of you guys are being really stupid. This is a promotional "trailer" for a book by Brad Meltzer. The book is kind of a cross of the Da Vinci Code, and superman.
Wow.. Joss Whedon is a gullible freak, and barely making any sense at the same time. Superman exists because he lost his father...WOW so what? That doesnt say anything.
The unfound murder weapon also...so? you know it was several thousand years ago. Theres a good chance it wont ever be found if there is one. Also, the bible is filled with bullshit stolen from other civilizations.

Very cool way to introduce a new novel by Brad Meltzer. It is interesting that Mr Meltzer got some of the creators of our current cultural icons Buffy and Lost - to introduce a book about the murder of the man who created one of our lasting Superhero icons - Superman. Very clever and interesting. There again my usual line is read more books and watch less television...although I admit to watching BTVS and Lost for their cultural aspects. :)
Is this supposed to be a legitimate movie about some ancient uncovered text left out of the bible? Or is this all just some dumb fiction flick?
Either way it looks pathetic. The only words worth anything are when Hitchens says that these are just idiots that need a high off this mythological nonsense.
lol joss whedon is one of them. he did up buffy the vampire slayer and firefly. And frankly, if I am to understand the premise behind this video, if you honestly think its a movie coming out then you were trolled.

no wonder joss whedon made an awful / b-movie / teenie-bopper flick about vampires into an awful / over the top / melodramatic television program about vampires-plus
the man is a superstitious imbecile who cant manage to enjoy his own life unless he dwells in delusion and fantasy
at least he's got imagination, something that it seems you lack. and oh yeah, he's also got millions and enough success to afford him the luxury to do whatever the f*ck he likes, living out delusion and fantasy included.
being wealthy does not make one better or "richer" in this life, and only the most boring people still use that shit to hold water.
lol, imagaination: i write screenplays and poems and music! i just tend to skew the lot of it a little less retarded than the collective work of joss "i ran out of ideas after season 2" whedon.
but your comment lacks context anyway since the poster of this video, their delicate sensitivities smashed, seems to have hidden or deleted my previous comment. hooray freedom of speech!

I would highly recommend basing fiction on virtually anything other than Christian mythology - Lovecraft is MUCH better! The problem with Christian mythology is that it is incredibly stupid, infantile, self-contradicting, makes NO sense whatsoever and no matter how much evil sounding music you put behind something as DUMB as Genesis - it's still an atrocious YET asinine YET infantile fairytale.
I seriously had hoped that Buffy would at one point meet the uberDemon, Jehovah and kill it!
Yes, but Christianity is where we have talking snakes...:) I would agree that Lovecraft is good, but if you are going to do it right...start off by reading Goldfinch's Mythology...then back it up with Mahabharata...go back to the origingal, which is much older than the Bible.
There is a creation legend, Flood, and first fall of man in almost every ancient society, it is just in Western culture we call it Christianity, and we have a Bible that has been edited and deleted and edited again for "content" ...THE STORY has many names and comes in many guises. Actually the most interesting is that which was written my the ancient Sumerians and Babylonians now there is some mythology for you...Read that then reread the Bible...
Fully agree - much of the Bible was "compiled" or written during the Babylonian captivity.
Problem with Christian mythology is Jehovah's omnipotence and omniscience. Once you've established that - any plot you create is stupid, crazy or pointless. You can't have an omnipotent being that CAN'T do things it wants to do. If the plot is in its favor and the plot fails then the god is stupid or not really omnipotent. It's just ridiculous.
One story based on Christian Mythology was Stephen King's "The Stand". This helped me COMPLETELY get over Christianity - it showed in almost parody relief how STUPID all the ideas were! A god with powers that it never uses claiming it uses people (WHY??) instead of acting itself allowing massive pain and suffering. Add a bad guy whose existence makes no sense if he has an omnipotent adversary. Also, the bad guy's motives and actions are idiotic since he knows of GOD's omnipotence! CRAZY!
Well, here we go...Cain Killed Abel out of jealousy. That his offering did not find favor in the eyes of god, even though he gave what he grew from the land, and his brother gave a burnt offering of the Lamb/Goat, whatever. I always felt that playing favorites was one sin that God created. Hmmm, is playing favorites a sin? Then in Exodus we have Moses receiving the 10 Commandments and Rule 6 is Thou Shalt not Kill. And what happens?
1) Omniscience/Omnipotence: God doesn't know where Abel is and doesn't stop Cain from killing him. God can currently take care of every prayer from 5 BILLION people but really can't show 4 people the same amount of attention.
2) Afterlife: "Abel's blood calls to me." Abel is dead - that's all. He isn't talking to God from an afterlife, there is no threat of a bad afterlife for Cain - no mention of an afterlife at all. That comes later.
Oxford university has a database of Sumerian literature online - the Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Literature. eg The Flood story: c.1.7.4 (from around 3000BCE) "After the flood had swept over the land, and waves and windstorms had rocked the huge boat for seven days and seven nights, Utu the sun god came out, illuminating heaven and earth..."
