There are supposed to be only three years between "Night of the Living Dead" and "Land of the Dead." It can get a bit confusing just by watching the technology and trends shown in the movies (after all, the first and the fourth movie came 36 years apart), but I think that is why they made "Diary," to make a modern version of "Night" so that having only three years pass between them would seem more realistic.

I don't recall seeing any references to time in the other ones, but it "Day" is really five years after "Night" that could just be the writers' mistake. As for the character of Slack - she was born in the city before the zombie apocalypse, but never left because she was too poor and had no family.

It never made sense to me about zombies being intelligent. You'd think the more they decompose, the worse they'd get. Besides, this whole plague of the walking dead started in 1968. How many years can the dead walk before decomposition affects mobility?

Well, the films are all supposed to be taking place around the same time, not the dates of the film's release. You just have to go along with it, the events of night are days apart from the events of dawn, and day would come a bit later, maybe 6 months to a year. Land...who knows, 5 years? I think I read somewhere that in the original day script Logan says it takes the core of the brain ten years to decompose. Youre right though, rigamortis and decomposition should affect their mobility.

Well, I will agree that shooting a single zombie with a rocket is not that useful. But, a high explosive rocket into the ground area where they are blows up lot's of them. They show this in the movie when Dead Reckoning shows back up to the city to find a zombie feast going on. So, like I said, one rocket, a barrage from the cannons, and no more intelligent zombies.

Agree with that; the inteligen zombie stuff was nice in with the zombie "Bubs" in "Day of the Dead" but here... i think it gives the zombies too much "humanity", which ruins that feeling about how desperate the situation and the future are.

And I get your point the the end could be a lot better, it's like the guy is begining to get along with the zombies...

I do actually want to revise my opinion of this movie...not only did the end suck complete ass, in my opinion, but the basic premise did as well. So, Dennis Hopper rules a tower in the city because he's got lot's of money and therefore supports an economy of sorts with soldiers he can pay, that being also the guys who built the dead reckoning. Then Luguizimo decides he wants in on this and Hopper decides not to pay him...um, what the hell is to stop Luguizimo or ANYONE ELSE from finding...

The whole point of Big Daddy's quest to raid Pittsburgh was because he'd seen so many of his "people" killed basically for sport by the humans and wanted to pull the fat man out of his ivory tower (just like Cholo did). He succeeded, but most of his followers were wiped out by Riley and Dead Reckoning. Seeing the massacre and probably deciding that the war was useless, Big Daddy begins to lead his army AWAY from the humans, and Riley realising this, lets him go.

In the 'dead' universe, the four movies happen in chronological order. "Night" was the start of it all. "Dawn" happens a few months later. "Day" happens a couple of years after. "Land" is supposed to take place 5 years (or so I've heard) since the events of Night.

"Diary of the Dead" is still in the same universe. It's suppose to have happened at the same time as "Night."

What I love about Romero zombie movies is they're all SO different from one another and yet have a sort of continuity. Night is serious and dark, Dawn is full of great funny bits and has a ton of crazy action and a mall for it, Day is edgy and full of unpleasant folks and Land has got its own feel that I can't quite quantify. Love all of 'em. I need to see Diary.

i am a huge fan of george romero. By far my favorite horror film makerof all time. Has three unforgetable classics Night, Dawn, and Day of the dead. When i saw this trailer in the theater i was stunned. The use of footage from his past movies made the trailer what it was. But take it from a true Romero fan. Land of the Dead was TERRIBLE!
