  • WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME! Danm THAT IS PURE !

  • Q-Bert and Mix Master Mike are the Greatest

    together they are unbeatable

  • I hate it when people say hip-hop producers and DJs don't really make music. The best know their instrument in the same way a world-class violinist knows theirs. It requires just as much discipline and practice. And some might argue that it is harder because there is no set-in-stone way to "play" their instruments.

  • I don't necessarily think using a laptop or anything digital is not djing. It's an age old argument and I have come to realize it's not about being old school or new school, it's not about using vinyls or a midi controller, it's about creatively expressing yourself. No doubt these guys have the talent but djs now have talent as well. I feel like but back in the day if you were good, the more likely to be seen. Now, any one with a camera and equipment can be seen, even those with no talent.

  • HAHA the white boy intro, so hilarious

  • Wow! I WOULD LIKE to SAY... this is TALENT... the SKILL LEVEL as u will see in this VIDEO is NOT with a LAPTOP this was 1995 and still it's from the source... in a the Legit way... it's the way it should be... how it evolved... they are the REAL DEAL.... LAPTOP is not required... U & YOUR SKILL LEVEL are... much RESPECT.... gotta practice lots... I'm glad I'm not a Skratch DJ ... but after watching this.. God I wish I were \m/

  • omg why when i was 2 years old dj's was better than now why i live my 18 on 2011...GOD!!!!

  • no computer needed to make this kind of shit modern djing is so fake most of the time

  • @MYSEGAISBROKEN agree!

  • @DjRawkOfficial yeah man i listen to a mix of everything from punk-rap not about looks or blending in either it is about the feel for the music if you got a good vibe jam it man

  • @alecalec321 the main reason why they're 'bobbing' their heads is cos they're b2b'ing you fucking idiot. They're not battling.

  • Whats the beat at 1:45

  • All you laptop midi controlling djs better take notes.

  • EVERYDAY BREAKS !!

  • ESTABA FLACO MIX MASTER MIKE

  • wow for me one of the best video on youtube

  • the style of MMM, the skratching of Q combined with the drumming and beatjuggling of Shortkut with D-Styles on the side....daaaam nobody in this world can fuck with them. NOBODY!!!!

  • Ahhhhh the 90s. when Hip Hop was still Hip Hop and DJs were actual DJs with some skill instead of pressing buttons. Id give anything to re-live the 90s.

  • Sh*t All that on the line Fader and phono switch button are u mental!?!?!? Bloody dopeness.

  • @loncham by using the crossfader and moving the record. hes really good at scratching weird noises and making it dope.

  • @psykick77 yes of course. But from 0:55 ? I think thats not a crossfader ) ty for the reply btw

  • @psykick77 He's turning it form line to phono, basically just cutting the sound completely with one simple flick, saving loads of time and effort

  • im diggin that marlboro shirt mixmaster mike sportin

  • awesome!

  • look at they hands yo they must be sore for weeks

  • mix master mike murdered it

  • The best part about these battles....was respect. Every time home boy switches a record...next man is there bobbing his head and loving the way he spins.

  • @alecalec321 indeed mate.i totally second u.they bring unique energy into "true turntablesm" & dj'ing. they surely are respectful of each other's mastery.

    hats off to these legends.

    Ali Khan

    Pakistan

  • yeah it was and i already got it the first time, u said why didnt they win, BECAUSE THEY WERENT BATTLING, it was a SHOWCASE....as stated earlier, they were banned from dmc after winning 3 world titles. period.

  • PAHHHHH

  • Q-Bert did the easiest part

  • mixx masterrr....MIKE! xD

  • they totally raped the vinyls :D

  • HAHA i remember that! asked "politely" to stop competing cuz their skill was EXTRAORDINARY. in other words, they were 2 of the best fuckin dj's to ever walk the fuckin planet and proved it by eating dj's up like skittles at the DMC's. shiiit i bet these 2 katz could compete in universal music combat in alien tournaments on there home planets and STILL bring home the gold...of course with the heads of their enemies in hand and a bloody break record in the other LOL

  • GOD IM WHITE AND EVEN I MOVE AT A "SHOW"!! these white folk dont know real talent/music!

  • @BLACKCARGORECORDS i dont get why people feel badass talking like that

  • @kirapollos42: The art form is cool and all but just be yourself...if your from brooklyn and u got brooklyn swag and you fillipino ok but don't come from the suburbs over acting hahaha

  • @BLACKCARGORECORDS Us Filipinos dont have swag, we have STYEL, those are two different things. I use style in my bboying. We filipinos are easy-going, we dont give a damn about wat people say, we just live our lives the way we want to. If a filipino wants to act black, let him. If you wanna jump him, go ahead, but thats not stopping him from living his life to his fullest....besides, why would you say that in a great DJ video? Be quiet and listen to the orgasmic scratched from Qbert

  • @chidori729: I hear it and it's cool but I would rather watch the original do it like Grandmaster Flash

  • @BLACKCARGORECORDS Lol Grandmaster Flash rocks :D

  • @chidori729: If your into Phillipino pioneers check out Joe Bataan if you haven't already ok. Peace.

  • @BLACKCARGORECORDS wait what are YOU?! Cuz I AM Filipino...

  • @chidori729: I am African American but I know about Phillipino history and culture because my wife is pinay...

  • classic mixmaster mike... being a stage hog! no really though, I love watching this stuff, takes me back to when scratching was fun (and when people still did it)...

  • anyone know were i can find the last beat they did or somthing simular? please?

  • 537 people just had a double rainbow in there pants!!!

  • 14 people aren't itchy and don't feel like scratching

  • Check the gear they're rocking... Polo Sport & a 49ers snapback.... Kinda like today huh?

  • Omg those scratches at the end... never would I have thought aliens were capable of making such music!

  • Check that start moment at 3:52. Thats the SKILL!

  • I could of sworn their fingers were breakdancin'!

  • 15 years ago and still move my head

  • wat was the dr dre beat mike was scratching

  • @nigga4life34 The song is called natural born killaz by dr dre and ice cube off of the murder was the case soundtrack

  • 3:42 superseal test pressing

  • everything about this video is dope

  • what mixer was that

  • biggest white boy introduction ever LOL!!

  • the beginning of Dr Oct!

  • the scratchy sound of old hiphop was a bueatyfull urban artform modern "rap" sucks its wannabe singers with autotune!

  • @themadscientest absolutely, the new hip-hop, is awful, it's all about simple rhythms and catchy samples, there isn't enough musical value, good hip-hop doesn't get much airplay these days, it's still being made, it must be, but you just gotta look harder for it.

  • @TMundo its not hiphop, its autotune and chopped and screwed and bullshit gimmics. theres no scratching, theres no rapping, theres no writing.

  • @themadscientest yes, I agree, the stuff on the radio isn't hip-hop, it's what you said, "autotune and chopped and screwed and bullshit gimmics." There is still good hip-hop out there, but you gotta dig for it.

  • @TMundo sadly the underground in jersey is 151 feva gang and there just idiots who get high on cough syrup like wheazy

  • @themadscientest oh, I didn't necesarrilly mean underground hip-hop exclusive to your area (although Joe Budden came from Jersey City though, he was nice) I was talking about stuff right here on youtube. There's lots to discover.

  • @TMundo i see, wanna kno something really funny the show yo gabba gabba has had more real hiphop than every channel owned my mtv by having biz, mixmaster mike, and kids songs that were rap. check out mixmaster mikeon it it was actually ligit!

  • @themadscientest yeah, that show has some great guest appearances, Lance knows a lot about music, just his mentioning of Raymond Scott was good enough for me, but then he had the roots, biz, and others on the show, I was impressed.

  • @TMundo that show is awesome (dj lance echo) its a subject of my graf (characters) and check out the raymakers myspace its dj lance dj-ing bot on a non ygg rep check out plushgun there fuckin great dan ingala is a mad genious i follow some of his blogs (i kno im a fucking hipster... but ironicly)

  • Yo Mixmaster Mike might be on some blow, but he still fucking slayed on that last part. Q-Bert was born to scratch, what else do I have to say?

  • Does someone know what the last beat is called?

  • Mixmaster Mike and Qbert. Its like turntable porn!

  • Ahahah Mike was on some other shit !

  • Sick

  • still the best scratch ever!

  • Mix Master Mike and Q Bert are the Best!!!!! Even today could school muthafuckas im sure! Q bert doing big things. I havent seen Mix master mike new shit but he sick wit it!

  • what vinyl is Q using?

  • I don't care if you think the Beastie Boys are gay, Mix Master is from another planet....

  • @fireaterfromhell to whoever thinks BB is gay, prolly thinks ICP is the illest white rap group ever for which they are very phuking wroooooooong!!!!

    BB is foundation !

  • @MAGIKORBIT Damn straight !!!!

  • classic son

  • Bet these guys love mp3's lol

  • i actually didnt want the vid to end

  • I still can't move the record like that without making that bitch skip a solid 3 or 4 grooves.

Mike is still the most technically capable and musically inclined DJ I've ever heard or seen.

  • 3.22 Mike is trippin HARD

  • @TheBarnabyJones

lol hes thinking "get out of my head"

  • dope

  • What is the beat that Mixmaster mike used in 1:46

    and Qbert in 3:00

  • @Vinvolve

Mike used Natural Born Killer by DRE

    but idk bout qbert

if you find you let me know :p

  • seen both live n both mad on crazy levels, 2 of tha greatest ever

  • mooooonsteeerrrr mix

  • the part at 1:48 is like he slapped world with a new era or fresh ...DAMN THAT SHIT WAS FIRE!!!!

  • If you see Qbert live, you must be lucky...

  • @michaelsvejcar yeah, actualy i did yesterday...

i've been on world dopest bboy acitons where when djs are playing its like being in heaven.

but seriously, qbert put my expectations to another dimension!!!!!

  • @michaelsvejcar i saw him yesterday, best show and sound ever

actualy, i've been on world dopest bboy acitons where when djs are playing its like being in heaven..

but seriously, when heard qbert, it put my expectations on dj to another dimension!!!!! ILLEST DJ EVER HEARD

  • This is extremley impressive, but, isnt it maybe a step too far? As in technical skill purley for its own sake? Self perpetuating inward facing masturbation with vinyl, at the expense of the records themselves. Some of those tracks are pretty great, i wouldnt mind hearing them. But then i still think david mancuso is the grwatest dj that ever lived, so what do i know....

  • @conish64 Iwas a showcase of skill, not a live show meant to get a crowd hopping... and I think it showcased the skill very, very well.

  • pure flavor

  • what does the switch that mike keep using called? like, what does it do?

  • @NecroNinjas Appears to be the 'Phono/Line' selection switch. Basically switching it back and forth can replace crossfading back and forth.

  • @NecroNinjas Transformer Switch, as people call it. It's actually a switch that changes between phono (the turntable) to AUX.

  • wait

    whos who?
