you can select different characters, and only alter their weight, and height. the map is alos 4 times bigger than liberty city. jets/planes are back. cuztomizable cars and clothing. interactive basketball, weightlifting, golfing etc. darts and and other little games are removed though. there is animals. lots of different wather types. enter lots of buildings, and even lock the doors, or put things in front of them to make them not open. some weapons can be homemade, others are customizable.

I doubt there will be any returning characters unless they are mentioned by someone or seen somewhere in a cutscene. R* began the 3rd-gen GTA games without any returning characters and i think they will continue to do so. Although i think they will add some sort of interaction with the celebrities from GTA IV. They were pretty amusing.
