sorry to say but the new HR engines are much more powerful than the rev up engines in 06. the reason why the power rating only went up by 6 hp was because cars sae rating standards changed at 06 and most car makers except for nissan was following them. ALL japanese car's lost on average of 20hp. an average HR Z dyno's at 270whp stock. that is 40 more whp than a DE powered Z and 30 more whp than a rev up Z.

HR is for the Engine code. The 2003 350z has a VQ35DE engine. They have revised the engines from 2004 and up and the second generation is called the VQ35HR. The DE for the 2003-2004, the HR is for the 2005 - 2007, but in the 2007 and up, it's tweaked even more than the 2005-2006. The next VQ will be the VQ37HR that's in the R35 Skyline GTR that's twin turboed. The 2009 Z will have a N/A'ed version of the VQ37HR, but either way, the 2007 Z is good for High 12's in the 1/4 mile in stock form
eh. there decently fast. i love nissan, but they are a little overrated. The 350s that this guy was using should have around 305whp. the RB engine is pumping around 250+whp if installed right. It also probably doesn't have any other mods to it other then an exhaust system or something.
I like the 240 the most but they're all quick and it looked like a good time!
