For all of you living between DC and Boston: Michael Reynolds will be doing a 3 day conference in Philly 4/17 to 4/19 on how to build these! Philly will be building the first official urban Earthship! check out the earthship website and search for philly
Earthships don't have to be built ONLY in Haiti! We can build them in America and Canada. Google Earthships and you will find plans on how to build your own. Get off the grid. Detach from the system! No Electricity and water bills!
@fatguyslim I'm not associated with Earthship Biotecture, but I may be able to answer your question. The reason an Earthship is earthquake proof is because the tires are aligned in a way that allows the building to be sturdy and it essentially can't cave in on itself unless your house is literally built on a fault-line. The rubble is used as a filler to make the tires heavier and it also helps in creating a temperature barrier between outside and inside, making it cheaper to cool your house.
You guys worked for free, they did not stop to think, we can continue to work for free, and grow food, for free, and satisfy our needs. That will really show the world that we are enslaved by these things called capital, and ownership. Peace, always. worlQuache.
I'm so glad I saw the call go out, even though I couldn't donate much. I'm in tears right now thinking about how much good you guys did over there. You are all so amazing. Thank you.
-- what I am struggling to grasp is how the gray water to "flush" the toilet (at 1:36) moves from the gray botanical cell up that pipe. Is there a hand pump involved?
Anybody who is donating to this cause, In all their different ways, is doing a magnificent and beautiful thing! I Truly and Deeply believe in Earth-ships! I will contribute my time and effort towards Earth-ships in all the ways I can. If I won the lottery tomorrow I would give all my winnings to this cause! I love it! Check out the website.
Very cool stuff! I'm putting together a video about the Earthship intern experience, and there's a 5 minute snippet of what I'll be documenting if interested.
MY FRIEND I'M VERY ASHAMED THAT YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO USE HIDRO ECTLECTIC BY GRAVITY FROM RAIN WATER COLLECTION ANS PRESSURE WATER TRANSFER LINE TECT , THANK YOU MR .BONES
I love the work being done in Haiti ! They are such a strong spirited group of people.. I thought I had watched all the videos and was under the impression they were going to build the flower type houses.. with 4 people in each x 6 or 9 homes ..??Am i missing something ??I am so confused !!
@derman077 My wife, my daughter and I have been travelling the country on our own dime. Flying cardboard signs for gas and food just so we can spread the message of Earthships. However, because we don't have a 501(c)3 number(in spite recognized as a non-profit in the state of Alabama) Jonah Reynolds(Michael's son) has told us that we can be of no use in raising funds to create a self sustainable community for families such as your's. We haven't stopped though and will be in Taos within 2 weeks.
This is so brilliant, and so simple at the same time. Such a shame we have to fight the system so hard in North America to do the right thing. You guys create housing that makes sense, and would give everyone their own shelter, electricity, etc.. In other words independence! (we can't have that can we, that would be revolutionary!) I will try to find something in Canada like this, and if I can't I am hooking up with you guys. Much respect. XO Peace.
You and the Earthship Crew are doing remarkable work. I am proud of you, and I know the rest of our family is too. Hope to see you soon. Um Abraco O Teu Primo Fig
This video gives me the chills of excitement all over...Having met and worked with all of you just about one year ago in Taos makes it even more real....You guys ROCK!!
best and most satisfying donation I ever made. which is not to say that if charities had similar vlogs about their projects I wouldn't feel the same way, but the sense of cheerful sincerity from the earthshippers and empowerment of the haitian crew is really a joy to watch. Wish there was somewhere to get involved building these in the U.K. as tragically I can't afford to get to New Mexico :)
@Banano79 Michael Reynolds is coming to Europe and is still seeking places around Europe to give lectures and do workshops in. check out earthship dot c om slash europe.
I'm broke. Bills are past due. Jobless in America. I have no ties here. How can I get involved? I would like to help change the world. I would like to leave a broken system that has failed me. There has got to be something better.
@earthship Hey you guys me and my friends are thinking of making this happen in Ecuador, please can you tell us how filling the tires with rubble makes the house earthquake resistant? Please this information is very vital to us because Qutio, Ecuador is know for its volcanoes and seismic activity. I have tried contacting you guys for a long time but we don't seem to get any response you. I hope you get to read this one at some point and realize we are trying to do something better for the people
@derman077 at least you got it right my friend, thats the attitude, system is broken and enslaved us, but your way of thinking is the future for this screwed up world, and helping you help yourself.....all for it. congrats....im on the same path.......

And be aware about which weapon created the Earthquake!
HAARP
It was all planned and the SOUTHCOM "drill" invasion stood ready.
Succes and keep up the good things, but be aware.
