Where is this located? Just recently moved to CA. I live around Hayward and had been traveling around alameda ( around those locations) using google map but no good fishing spot.
I'm is California and the size limit here is 18 inches,,,,Yea I know on the east coast it's 27 inches,,,"haahaa",,,,The reason it's only 18 inches here in California is because striped bass are not native to the west coast.
@SharkManHD ahh that explains it! I was confused when you were saying they were keepers lol It's 28" in Ma. I work on a a charter boat out of Nantucket in the summer. Nice video though, thinking about getting a Gopro this summer to document the infamous stripers we catch out on the east coast!
Yea I knew that you were on the east coast when you asked me the size limit,,,,haahaa,,,,,The biggest striper that I personally ever caught was 38 pounds and I know that's not uncommon for you guys on the east coast,,,,And YES you should get a GoPro they rock!!!,,,When you make some videos of the stripers you guys catch then let me know so I can watch them!!!,,,,,"TIGHT LINES ALWAYS"...
@SharkManHD That's a big boy! Yea they range in size out here. Usually rocking the live snakes at night(squirmy lil punks). Don't have time during the day since I'm on the boat working. Fish onn bud! Will hopefully have some vids uploaded this summer!
"Haahaa",,,,I thought so too "but" I know it's much more common to catch one that big on the East Coast,,,,I really look forward to you posting some great fishing videos up this summer!!!,,,,"FISH ON & TIGHT LINES ALWAYS"...

mann...i love that spot bro...fished with jhun and gilbert manys of times on that spot....I will be out there forsure this year! by the way..that dobyns rod is the shit!
"Right on my brother",,,,I'll see you on the beach then this year for sure!!!,,,,And "YES",,,I had "hella fun" using my Dobyns Rod on the surf!!!,,,"haahaa",,,,"TIGHT LINES ALWAYS"...
Well I always try to cast as far as I can,,,the longer the fishing rod the further the cast but as long as I cast further then the second or third wave I hook up if the striped bass are around!
@SharkManHD Can you just tell me what is that technique you are using. I have tried using the same jig you are using but it aint working for me, i usually try it at the Mc Near's beach. San Rafael I just need a little guidance. Thanks
Hey bro,,,A lot of times it's just being at the right place at the right time "but" I will tell you that I tend to reel in a little faster then most fishermen and I also move my rod tip side to side a lot,,Using this technique I caught 128 striped bass in the past year,,,So just try changing your speed that you reel in and move your rod tip from side to side sometimes,,,I think in time if you just stick with it you'll find what works best for you so just hang in there bro!,,,"TIGHT LINES ALWAYS"
"Pretty slim" if your trying for thresher sharks right now,,,Most of the bigger sharks go to deeper waters this time of year "but" there still catching a few leopards here and there in the bay!
Well if your trying for Thresher Sharks the "best bait is live mackerel or sardines,,,,"but" frozen still works just live works a lot better,,,,,And for Leopard or Sevengill sharks squid or mackerel works best,,,,,"best of luck",,,,TIGHT LINES!!!
Hey bro,,,Just go on the You Tube Search and you'll find "many videos" on how to maintain your reels,,,,Type this on the search: ( How to oil and grease my fishing reel )
Right on bro!!!,,,,,"yea" my light tackle rod & reel gave me so many fun fishing adventures in the past seveal months,,,,More "good times" coming soon for sure!!!,,,,"TIGHT LINES ALWAYS"...
"Hey Bro",,,,Where there's surf smelts there's usually bigger fish that feeds on them,,,,I would talk to the local fishermen to find out what other fish are in your area,,,You'd be surprised bro!!!,,,,"Tight Lines Always"...
@SharkManHD well there's always a lot of seals around the surf smelt so I don't know if the big fish comes around. I don't usually see people fishing out on beaches. Mostly the local fishermen go salmon and steelhead fishing only.
Well can't say for sure what the seals are eating in your area "but" in my area when the seals are around there mostly feeding on the striped bass or salmon,,,,A lot of times I watch for the birds diving or the seals splashing because that means there feeding on something and more the likely it's a decent size school of decent sized fish,,,,If surf smelts are in your area I am sure there are predator fish feeding on them!!!
@SharkManHD ah, cool. well I might try to catch a bigger fish when the surf smelt are in. usually I be cast netting when the surf smelts are in. so no time to try and catch a bigger fish.
sometimes we catch red tail surf perch on surf smelts.
Great video my brothaa keep up the good work you guys make it look too eazy. =] Go hard hard or go home my kind of fishing. Im over waiting to see who are 49ers are going to play next who ever it is we are going to beat them.
LEGIT. You guys ran into a very nice school that day! Can't wait to see you catch one of those COWS that are out there on that light rod. I'm actually surprised there aren't more California surf striped videos on youtube. We're just gunna have to keep making them!
"Yea bro",,,,Your 100% right!!!,,,,Out of respect for the local fishermen who pretty much all are my friends I will never post videos when it's "hot" or give the "locations",,,,I only do that out of respect for the locals and all of my friends,,,,"peace always"...
"Yea Bro",,,,I can't wait to catch one of those Cows myself on my Dobyns rod,,,,"BUT" in the mean time these schoolies are fun too!!!,,,,"Your right",,,,There's not enough California Surf Fishing Videos and we need to change that,,,I will post more soon and I hope that you do too!!!,,,TIGHT LINES ALWAYS"...
