Those who make over $250,000 will have something like a thousand dollar increase. WOO WOO. About 25 bucks a week, equal to 3 bucks FOR THE REST OF US not making that kind of money. McCAIN thinks ALL MIDDLE CLASS MAKES about a MILLION A YEAR. Now who is intersted in THE REST OF US. Many have 2 jobs or 2 parents who cant hit 250,000- why do they have to pay higher taxes and corporate owners and presidents whine all the way to the bank.. Get over the small change issues.

First of all, it makes no sense to say that those making over $250K will get about a $1000 tax increase. That is a very broad range, and since taxes are expressed as a percentage of the income, the raw number of dollars in one's tax increase is proportional to one's income. While the percentage increase may be the same for those in the $250K and above category, it is preposterous to think that someone earning $10M per year and someone earning $300K per year will pay an equal $1000 more in taxes.

Second, please cite your source for the $1000 figure.

Third, the tax increase on the "wealthy", particularly the large increase in capital gains tax, will do more damage to the remainder of America than good. Given higher income taxes and a stringent capital gains tax, the "wealthy" will invest less, driving down the economy more acutely, and many of "the rest of us", of which I am a part, will be left with a largely symbolic tax credit and a pink slip.

My friend, you know nothing about me, but you try to assume because you have no good argument, of course. I am not rich, and my family never has been. I've never owned anything by Armani or similar products. I don't own a car and never have, because I don't have the money. I recently married at age 23 and saved up for several years before that to buy a cheap 1-bedroom co-op apartment with my wife, because that was all we could afford. I clearly mentioned above that I AM part of the majority.

We saved and saved so that we could buy a very modest home (with a mortgage, of course), because we knew it would be better to own something small than to throw money away on renting a better place. Additionally, my wife is currently in school full-time, and if I lose my job of only 2 years as a result of Mr. Obama's policies, I will need more than a check from the government. Money IS tight for me. I do not sneeze at a tax credit, but that compares NOTHING to the risk of losing my salary.

I really don't think it's necessary for her to make stupid hyperboles about "you tax us when we eat and sleep." Sleep?? Yeah, maybe if you get a hotel room, but come on! You're not taxed all that much if you keep to yourself, don't run a business, and work hard and stay out a trouble. Another tip is not to pay for gov't permits or licenses you don't need; those cost money.

You still keep almost 70% of your federal income tax dollars. If a guy makes 10 million, he still keeps 7 million.

Increase STATE taxes and allow states much more control over social spending.
