  • Congratulations for this great job. The main difficulty in agility with the Basset hound is holding his attention, because he is very disturbed by different scents. You must develop a real strategy to reach this level in this discipline. But it should be exciting, perhaps even more interesting than whith a bread naturally predisposed to do it, like collie. (I had a Basset when I was young)

  • I love Basset Hounds, and that's the first time I've ever seen one do agility. I've always wanted one, but I've never gotten one, because my current dog and I compete in agility, and I would want a new dog to do so as well...and I always figured a Basset would be the wrong choice. Maybe I should reconsider.

  • If your someone that's truly doing it to have fun, then it doesn't matter what breed of dog you do. You just have to make sure you and the dog are having fun. Just about every dog in the world wants to run and play with their owner, even Bassets, if you can turn that into something like agility where they will get lots and lots of treats during training then your all set

  • Great Job! I keep telling people that Bassets are trainable and smart.
