  • Great race. One thing to point out is that a chip a must when modifying the raptor or else it will be useless.

  • Id go with the CT Racing exhaust. with the airbox lid off, the system on, and the proper EFI settings, it added 13hp

  • I already have dual exhaust and a trip to the dyno in the next couple weeks. I have the 15t front sprocket on this allows it to stay in the power range longer and give a better start off the line. also gytr intake kit lid off.Also power commander3 with custom map

  • If I go exhaust it is going to be full. It is over 100%. I've got a 2 stage pro-flow foam filter and adapter plate. The only thing I need is my exhaust. either i'm going barkers or a single CT pipe. Shot me an email. I've got my bike all back together and some new parts. If ya don't have my email shot me a msg on here.

  • To be honest. I'm not 100% on it. I thinkingit was probably the crank case was part of it. Wasn't venting any pressure. And might have been some of the air filter being dirty.

  • My run off tubes are not open so the fuel is stayin' in my carb. It seems better now that I'm only 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 turns out on the carbs. Usually the only time it pops is on a decel or when I jump right back on the throttle. Even when i would have the lid off it wouldn't run with the lid off. I'm not sure if it will when I get it rejetted if it will work with the lid off without an exhaust. Will find out tomorrow.

  • My ds650 did that when i was having jetting problems the pilot jet was to big.maybe theres just alot of dirt and shit in it.A dirty airfilter will cause this to. Cause yours ran good then all of a sudden acted up. water in the gas will do that to.

  • I let me get things tuned. I know I will get my arse handed to me but I want to see where I am at with it properly tuned running basically stock everything. lol..Then I will start diging into my pockets. Cause the OT has started to come in. plus income taxes Plus that stupid stimulas package if the govt. would get there heads out of there arse! That is a nice chunk of change if i do say so myself. Plus I have some other sources as well. ;)

  • If your running after market air filter with no lid you need to put your lid back on.I think your running way lean thats what all the popping and shit is. Lid back on and reset the carbs together until you get exhaust.

I was running to rich was still running with my lid on...I did some tuning on it the other weekend and took it in and adjusted it out 2 turns took it for a spin and it sounded better still poped some so I turned one side half the other side a 1/4 and ran it agian and it still popped a little but not like it had done. I'm yanking the carbs tomorrow hopefully cleaning them rejetting and adjusting my floats via the "clear tube method" and will be able to run without my lid.

  • The only time i ever heard of them popping is a lean condition,or to big of a pilot jet but you never changed that did you? If you think its rich take your lid off.Also clean your air filter real good with cleaner not gas.maybe try a new fuel filter or add one and drain the gas out thats in it and put fresh in with some dry gas to evaporate water.Also put a good plug in it and gap it right. just some ideas to try. Later hope you get it running right

  • I read up on the v-force,there top speed is 74 and it takes a bit to get there also read on the forums a guy that has both a raptor and a vforce he said the raptor was faster than his v force. So i got it all covered

  • the v-force is 83 top end (stock) and i think it gets there pretty quick considering it is full automatic. i'm just curious as to what it can do

  • The guy on the forum had it clocked by drag racing at race track.74mph. But he said for being auto it gets there quick just not as quick as your ds650 or the stock raptors thats all.

  • ask him if it had a spring change in the drive system, this simple change can affect top speed, the spring change is usually for veriation in belt engagement

  • I got an idea. You add 125 pounds to your little 700 to bring it closer to my tanks wieght and we'll see what happens the way they sit, my bent axle and all. If you do that you might want to drink a case before we race so reality will be blured for you so you will not cry as much. LOL

  • Well for starters i out weigh you by 50lbs so now sere down to 75lbs.But you have to be realistic to we all choose our own machines.I cant help it you picked that one.Weight has not as much to do with it either.You beet the yfz450 with a 3 mod by a considerable amount. and that machine is lighter than mine.   • I beg to differ on that one. He is only running a slip on exhaust and a rev box. And the 700 was only winning by 2 lengths and that was all from the start. Because the 700 wasn't wheel standing the ds was wheel standing.

  • I disagree my mods on the raptor 700 are all equal to the mods on the ds. Except i dont have the rev box.When we raced opposite directions i missed 2nd gear twice and still won by 1.5.& His front end never lifted that way. its more like 3 lenghts. Unless he goes internal with the ds its going to be the same out come.Could be worse.I discovered since then how rich my raptor was running.Retuned and what a difference. I did a mild launch in the yard it was right on the grab bar

  • also my efi programmer is equivalent to the jet kit in the ds. except mine is easier to rejet.Lets not forget i owned a modified ds 650 prior to this raptor.on pavement a stock raptor 700 got me by a bike length on my ds650.I also wheelied off the line my ds was more modified than this one too.

  • You have full dual exhaust. which is making more power than the slip-on. I want to see them run this summer when it isn't muddy. lol I still think it is gonna be closer. Maybe not now that you got it retuned right.

  • Remember i had a ds650.The hmf slipon with stock head and mid pipe made morepower on the dyno than any other exhaust combination for the ds650.thats why everyone puts them on.they were dead nuts even when my raptor was stock. I think with outa doubtwith this new tune its going tobe at least 5 lengths. Its all fun though so we will just have to wait for spring to see. I think his womens new kfx700 is going to smoke his ds650 to.LOL

  • aparently you havn't seen the other vids? Was hooking way to hard in the dirt/mud we were in. Every time he launched it would come off the ground. hard to do any good when your front end is off the ground.

  • Thats me on my 700.the guy on the ds650 can ride like a mother.the ds650 does have mods to that arent listed. He has hmf slipon jetted carb & airfilter.However the results were the same when we raced in the other direction and his front end stayed down.One race i missed 2nd gear twice cause of my new riding boots and still got it by 1.5 lengths.The ds is just to heavy.Whats up ceanern? these results as i stated earlier are not due to rider.
