I love Utraean penninsula so much, I find it more addictive than Ehb for some reason, never knew why, it just stood out more to me. Lord Hovart was the shit, and all those lore books you get in-game were fun to read. the best thing about the game is that chris taylor was born in British Columbia and so was I lol.

@Templayer I whole heartedly agree with you. When I first heard the rumors about Dungeon Siege 3 happening, I almost cried a river full of happy tears - but only to oh be sooo disappointed.
Dungeon Siege 1, is by far the most entertaining RPG I've ever played, especially with friends. Only matched by Mass Effect 1 and 2.
Dungeon Siege 2 however, was a little bit off - but still had that Dungeon Siege feeling was especially fun to play with friends!

Now after all that ranting... I have been trying REALLY HARD to at least forgive some of ds3's lacking list of features. I have managed to count the number of times I sat down to play ds3 with one hand, and I think in 4 hours Im already halfway to the game.
In ds2 I couldnt get off greylin island in 6 hours from character creation (sidequests incl), and it took 8 hours+ straight from then to get back to aman lu, which after all was somewhere less than 1/3 of the game. (see dictionary for epic)
@BoroMonokli DS3 is crap. I haven't even played it, and I do not have any intention to get it. Maybe if I find some mod that allows party and stuff, something like a total conversion, then I will go for it.
The companies of today make games for money, not for gameplay or just to make a good game - the companies that didn't do that (and created the best games ever made) went bancrupt. See XCOM (a parody FPS of X-Com), Fallout 3 (a parody FPS of Fallouts 1+2), ......
Fallout 3 was pretty shitty still. What did fallout 3 have that vegas didnt? Sure some stuff were perhaps better in peoples eyes that loved fallout 1-2 and liked stuff being so empty and wastelandish. But i sure hell didnt, it was too boring running around in nothingness. It was fun a while, but it became boring as fast. Dungeon siege 3 sucked, believe me. They should have made a DS1 remake with awesome graphics. That sure hell i would buy.
@3Dyler The whole idea of Fallouts were, that the world is empty, as most people died out and you are traveling, searching, finding horrible monsters and ruins in your way. F1 and 2 were made on the base of atmosphere and feelings, you ARE ALONE, in an empty world, trying to save a little group of people. The despair and lonelyness was great.
But we generally agree that DS 3, Fallout 3 and F: New Vegas were shit games (yes, I am a hater of New Vegas as well ... ) My fav game remade for children.

@Templayer Now from about the second half of may I have been working on to be a constant thorn in obby fans' side. Why? Because they messed ds3 up so much. I told them how ds1-2 has been great: in ds1 the lack of complexity fro individual characters was compensated by party/item/spell management.
I'm not sure how many do remember that stuff from merchants were pretty expensive for single player, especially as you had to outfit a god damn party and the monsters were finite.

DS2 then improved upon this (what a sequel - not a reboot - is usually about), expanded upon the lore, (not like ds3 which retconned shit in instead of giving the gameplay a fuck) given much deeper background, a rock-solid conversation system and character development complexity that makes obby's attempts in similar look outright pathetic (MORE options, DEEP options ie choices actually mattered in the late-game, way greater flexibility in building your character), and 6-8 man PARTIES!!!!!!!!

@Templayer Now DS2 had narrow paths, but it wasnt always the case: the azunite desert was pretty wide, the aman lu hills were great, and the arctic world after the vaikesh forest was beautiful (and quite wide)
There is always Killer Gremal's Utraean peninsula AND Kingdom of Ehb import to DS2 for all of us though.
@Templayer The atmosphere? in DS3? It's non-existent: Some very quiet music in the background and I think thats it. Combat revolves into a clusterfuck 99% of the time. And the swamp is a narrow rail road (THAT eastern swamp which had over a hour of content. AND it's a ten minute walk from stonebridge there.

Yeah, DS3 is already dead for me and it hasn't been yet even released.
And they will ruin it like any game created today - because of consoles, for the game to be more console friendly. Means no party system (too complex for controls and for small children), more button mashing, anime like effects....
Yeah, I've encoded my .mp3 with the same quality settings as the source audio in the game, so its sloud be lossless quality. Too bad it isn't encoded better in the game.
Anyway, .flac is cool, I have several soundtracks in it. I don't use it myself much though. Not as many uses.
When modded/opened, this games has besides folders with textures, videos, sounds, music, models etc. a folder called mood - That stores various lightning effects and special sounds to make the atmospehe. This is the only game I've seen to do this, ie putting the priority of such thing to the same level as the graphics and music.....

They aren't .... this is quite a rarity, i would suggest googling youtube downloader (many apps for this) and download the songs straight from me/youtube. You can then use a converter to edit out the video, and put the audio into a mp3. file. The format for maximum quality of audio should be MP3, 320 bit, 44 000 - 48 000 (Something)hz. I am using Xilisoft media converter, it's extremely easy to use, but supreme in quality. Like convert anything to anythign with choosed quality.

Half of the things i have on my computer would NOT work with these systems. I know people would say that's not true, but it is. Half of these half are DOS based things.
I have one problem with DS1 through, my screen flickers. It helps to restart comp . But still my eyes hurt from that kind of sh*it.
@Templayer One last thing though, this solves the flinching of the screen BUT the main problem afterwards is that the game crashes for no apparent reason about 3-4 minutes into play.

Probably. There were at least 3 such tracks, but I don't remember which ones that were exactly.

I LOVE THIS XD im playing all my games with this running now! I just remembered the awesome music this had cause of the incoming dungeon siege 3, I personally believe that ... its a completely different game with the same title, its not going to be bad, however its not dungeon siege :/

Yeah, DS3 is already dead for me and it hasn't been yet even released.
And they will ruin it like any game created today - because of consoles, for the game to be more console friendly. Means no party system (too complex for controls and for small children), more button mashing, anime like effects....
I hate this age of gaming depression.

Yeah, I've encoded my .mp3 with the same quality settings as the source audio in the game, so its sloud be lossless quality. Too bad it isn't encoded better in the game.
Anyway, .flac is cool, I have several soundtracks in it. I don't use it myself much though. Not as many uses.

Yeah.
When modded/opened, this games has besides folders with textures, videos, sounds, music, models etc. a folder called mood - That stores various lightning effects and special sounds to make the atmospehe. This is the only game I've seen to do this, ie putting the priority of such thing to the same level as the graphics and music.....

They aren't .... this is quite a rarity, i would suggest googling youtube downloader (many apps for this) and download the songs straight from me/youtube. You can then use a converter to edit out the video, and put the audio into a mp3. file. The format for maximum quality of audio should be MP3, 320 bit, 44 000 - 48 000 (Something)hz. I am using Xilisoft media converter, it's extremely easy to use, but supreme in quality. Like convert anything to anythign with choosed quality.

oh, you didn't want soundtracks but the game itself !!
Simply .... unninstall Win 7/Vista crap and install XP.
Half of the things i have on my computer would NOT work with these systems. I know people would say that's not true, but it is. Half of these half are DOS based things.
I have one problem with DS1 through, my screen flickers. It helps to restart comp . But still my eyes hurt from that kind of sh*it.

@Templayer oh ya the screen flickering i solved, now it just plays but suddenly closes itself without any message after 3-4 minutes of play.
The flickering is caused by conflict with the video card - select in the DVDVideoSettings a video card without "TNL" on it. That seems to solve it.

thx, i will try that. I recently got a new graphic card, so maybe it will work without it.
The game simply doesn't know the newer cards, so it glitches that way by choosing a card that ins't 100 % compatible ...

@Templayer One last thing though, this solves the flinching of the screen BUT the main problem afterwards is that the game crashes for no apparent reason about 3-4 minutes into play.
That is the problem i am currently struggling with, if you find any solution to it please reply me - i want that game..badly xD

Maybe it's just your hardware....
... and you know, that the fairy's do crash the game, if they restore your health/mana? i shoot them with bow, long distance. They make a flower on the floor if they die :D.

Planning after finishing the main campaign (usually 54 - 64 lvl) to use my developers skills to get my character from SINGLEPLAYER normal Kingdom of Ehg campaign to the SINGLEPLAYER expansion Legends of Aranna campaign. (and to change the singlep. expansion campaign from normal difficulty to veteran difficulty.) Too bad i donthavemuchtimeforplaying

Somewhere i hav a lvl 102 Ranged character ... but i feel it inst what i want, so im going for Mele/Ranged/Nature build Templar now (normal campaign on normal, expansion on veteran and multiplayer on elite.)
