  • 10:12 beginning of a rape round.

  • Genki/Vanao on a team, amazing. Two of my favorite players in action. Too bad I found out how BS this game is and stopped playing for a while.

  • i still dont get how mak does 2 uppercuts following that sa2 super?

  • cause she loves being so friggin cheap

  • Nice escape on 13:24.

  • So no one has a problem with the fact that at least 3 characters in 3S wins tourneys consistently...

even in the japanese tourneys where even mid and low tier characters are used...

No one has a problem with that...?

Is it really that offensive to suggest that more of the cast (at least more than 3) should be able to win tourneys consistently...

  • Are you talking to me? If so, I already said I would've nerfed Chun, Yun & Makoto a tiny bit, but it's not worth worrying about now because the game's so old.

I think you should look at it this way: if the top 3 usually win tournies, doesn't that give the low/mids more incentive to play better & harder?

We all hate seeing the top 3 win, whenever a low/mid appears they AUTOMATICALLY get all our support, 'cause we all understand how hard they'll have to work to win, & it's more spectacular.

  • 14:45

    great parries.

  • MAKOTO VS. DUDLEY. AWESOME.

  • fyi ken is the eaisiest character to play so dont fell like you did anything good

  • Awesome Makoto matches.

  • always great to see Alex winning against chun

  • you guys SERIOUSLY think capcom will invest millions just to remake an already perfect game just to create "balance" between chars...you guys must be winning sluts, bad losers and rage quitters...the issue is not the game, it's when you take a "non existent world of animated characters fighting each others" seriously...that's the real issue here, nothing more. IT"S JUST A GAME PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Perfect game? Nice troll mate.

  • if it ain't perfect, how come it's been here for years, since 1999 and its community is growing larger every single year...it is the almost perfect 2d fighting game ever created.

  • @humansareevil100: who are you talking to?

And nobody thinks Capcom will invest millions in rebalancing 3S, because everybody knows it wouldn't cost millions, and not enough people care that much anyway.

  • 10:14 Makoto owns Dudley oh god that was a beautiful match

  • Fact of the matter is, a good player will be a good player regardless of character choice. Thats why there are good players for every character.

  • 14:16 perfect timing

  • top tier against top tiers are so boring

    Genki puts on a show

  • Is Genki KSK?

  • Nah, KSK plays Grey Alex

  • 5:15 LOL

  • DENJIN!

  • I genuinely enjoyed Genki destroying that Chun-Li player about half way through that video :P

  • MOAR

  • Fucking GO ON Genki my man, you rocked. Vanao and Genki were one hell of a nasty team!

  • Favoriting because of Genki.

  • OOooo proooo resets by dat makoto playerr nd dat beast perfect

  • Matsuken vs. Vanao!! That's like Ken vs. Ryu!!Get HYPE!!

  • Vanawo was on point today.

  • alex beasting, ryu with some mind games!!

  • All youtube accounts that were created after a certain date are made to post 10 minute videos. Most likely to save bandwidth and prevent people from posting movies.

TheShend was lucky enough to create their youtube account before that change was made.

From what I recall at least

  • Oh, i didn't know that, thank you for your answer :).

  • Loved the Matsuken/Vanao match

  • if street fighter 3 were to balance the entire roster and give the lower tier characters more options against the higher ups i believe that this game would get a revival...

  • @Zero829 poorly balanced ? hahaha

    what did you smoke Prof?

  • nah just give Yun the longest bar possible, give chun a tiny bit more lag on both of her standing fierces, and nerf her SAII's damage by 10-5% and you have a game with tons more viable characters.

  • I agree completely with the Yun tweeks but with Chun, while SAII is ri-fucking-diculous, it's still the icing on the cake for her, her normals and pokes are too good. Those need to get toned down a little as well.

  • I don't see the balance problem with 3S, nothing needs changing in my opinion. Yes Chun and Yun are crazy good, but that just means it's all the more satisfying when somebody like Yamazaki destroys a Chun or Yun.

Balance is boring. The fact that Chun and Yun are so good doesn't stop there from being a wide diersity of characters represented all the time, and you're gonna root for the low-tier characters when they do appear. Everybody wins.

  • That is a horrible excuse for bad balance. Balance promotes diversity instead of just seeing Chun-Li and Yun matches for days. Balance also makes it easier for new players to come into the game where there is an even playing field between the characters instead of a noticeable advantage in specific characters.

  • I didn't excuse bad balance. Capcom SHOULD've nerfed Chun & Yun (& Makoto I think), but 3S's over a decade old now, accept & learn from the design errors & move on. We all know the matchups, we have fun.

Balance promotes diversity, but it often also promotes homogeniety in design. And balance DOESN'T make it easier to learn for noobs, Chun & Ken make superb entry-level training for 3S noobs.

Chun & Yun don't stop a range of characters being chosen, & you root for the lows when they appear.

  • @DrummerFromColdplay Ryuji Yamazaki???

  • Nah, there's a guy called Yamazaki that uses Twelve. Check him out, he's amazing.

  • Also, the parry system is not the issue. The only problem with it is that characters have to have amazing offensive options in orders to neutralize AND utilize parries, and somehow Yun and Chun or a few others (intentionally or not) were made too powerful.

  • And the SF4 is boring isn't because its balanced.....

  • Right, I think you're correct. 3S must have been a total nightmare to balance, and I personally can forgive Capcom for letting Chun and Yun slip through the net because I think the fact that they are overpowered makes the game more fun than it may have otherwise been.

Plus, like I said before, the game's over 10 years old now. If there is ever a new console release, I hope it is arcade-perfect. Every fighting game needs at least one asshole character that everybody else wants to destroy. :)

  • Yeah, 3s isn't balanced, but it does let the Yamazakis, the Hayaos, and of course Kuroda to stand out that much more. Skill is still a major factor. Picking Yun or Chun isn't the same as pressing the win button. Even when I played MOV, I never thought that he beat me because he was using Chun Li.

And can perfect balanced be achieved? I look at Super Turbo, which is suppose to be more balanced than 3s, and then I see this E.Honda vs Ryu match, and then Gief vs Honda match....

  • Hehe, "can perfect balance be achieved?" is a good question. But maybe the question should be: "do you want perfect balance?"

With the first question, I don't think perfect balance can be achieved. There are too many variables, both from character details and also player styles. But my knowledge of fighting games only really applies to the SF games, so if there are non-SF examples then I am happy to see.

  • Perfect balance CAN be achieved but at a great cost of fun factor. Make every character the same, for example.

  • I agree, that's what I was getting at with homogeniety. That's why I prefer to have Chun and Yun the way they are, even though I would have toned them down slightly before the game was released if I had the opportunity.

  • I agree. My decision would be to tone them down so slightly that it almost wouldnt matter and then focus on the low tier ones.

  • I'd say Virtua Fighter might be the closest example of "good balance".

  • Why's that? All VF games? I genuinely haven't played or seen much of the VF games, I'm curious as to why some people say they are so well-balanced.

  • I've only played VF4evo and VF5. Anyway just watch some videos from japanese arcades, and tournaments. What makes the difference is definitely the player, not the character. a good channel : "Ogikage"

  • sick Makoto and sick Alex. Can't remember ever seeing Aiku's Dudley get raped so hard.

  • Its me, or Matsuken is extremely defensive? I really don't like to look at him play. He's really skilled alright, but its just frustrating to look at how he plays.

  • Jesus christ that Makoto combo and reset against Dudley...

  • The Ryu and Makoto players were a beast!

  • those cr.shorts are fucking annoying to watch and hear...

  • You updated player's names right away, nice.
