  • @downtonabbeyfreakHahahahaaa I thought the exact same thing

  • PWNED!!!!!

  • Superwoman. Plain and simple.

  • it's just mesmerizing!

  • And may I just say again oooowwwwwwww! :D She is TOO classy with it!

  • I freakin' LOVED this scene! Just...TOLD!

  • Handed that woman her ass. Like a boss.

  • pwned

  • oh so epic.... love this movie!

  • BAD ASS.

  • I've seen this movie before, and for some remember the check figure being far less than $5000. Guess I was wrong. $5K in '67 would be like $20,000 today (!)

  • Wow, man just wow. You don't see them like that these days...

  • Miss Hepburn said many times she never expected Tracy to marry her nor expected him, or particularly wanted him, to leave his wife. She was deeply hurt after he died for the wife to say to her, "I thought you were a rumor." Kate was the one who took care of Tracy, nurtured him and saved his life more than once. He never told her he loved her and she never complained about it.

  • Virginia Christine was picked specifically for this role. Yes she was Mrs. Olsen of the Folger's Coffee commercials but she had a long and distinguished career behind her. Both Hepburn and Tracy just loved great actors and loved working with them. To be chosen for one of their films was an honor itself and often catapulted actors to top careers. They always worked on closed sets because they were genuine artists. Kate's Oscar in this case surely was for both of them.

  • This is exactly the scene that won Hepburn the Oscar for this film.

  • cool car!

  • @0:42-1:40, all in one take!! GREAT reading!! "I want you to go straight back to the gallery...start your motor...when you get back to the gallery..." Brilliant!!

  • How ironic - the bitch is driving a Barracuda!!!

  • Best scene of the movie! Love, love Katharine Hepburn

  • Hepburn's class

  • BAMMM!

  • CLASSIC

  • "Dont speak hilary...just go" MERAVIGLIOSAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

  • It is a movie a script. In real life, even then, in the biggest city west of the Mississippy a highly paid gallery manager, being tertiary educated, would not have been quite so indescrete, in reality. . The world of abstract works of art require much interpretation and understanding of re-introjection of projected objects; the manager would have known better. . It is principally a scene to make Katherine look good, and the scene does look good in the movie. . Cheers. from, del-boy.
  • One of the all-time best scenes in the history of motion pictures. Perfection.

  • Wow - this is really a wonderful scene. Great writing, great delivery. I wish i had known to see it sooner.

  • HAHAHA, I can,t believe that somebody could kill a mosquito so easy!!. Hepburn puts her best face, smile and gestures and removed an insect out of her house!!. Do u see Poitier,s smile?...HAHA. The girl and her fiancee surely expects Kate,s reaction!!...And "get lost"...HAHA. I love the young couple. They seems to be sooooo in love!!. Carlos

  • Now that was a verbal beat down with the utmost class; she removed that trash from her house, placed it in expedient transportation, specified her dislike, disgust and disassociation, paid her off like a two dollar whore and sent her on her way-permanently. JUST CLASSY!!

  • @Kaibyl

    Dear Kai.,

You're not listening, she was $5,000.oo.

    .

    Read more books.

    .

    .

    Cheers.

  • JUst a question which of them is Katherine Hepburn? ... I have heard so much about her, i watched this film because it's like my life but I am not sure which of them is her...xD

  • @HenriyLisbiss The one in the brown vest jacket ;)

  • @HenriyLisbiss

Katharine Hepburn is the white mother ind the film. :-)

  • @HenriyLisbiss she is the one that fires the other woman

  • I never tire of watching that scene.

  • OMG I love that scene. I have an aunt who is just like Hillary... would love the chance in real life to do something like Katherine Hepburn did. Love it! :D

  • @mylondondream Dear Londondreamer, So, you're willing to pay your aunt US$5000. (₤2,993.30) as well, as part of the deal? . I'll bet no. . . Cheers. from, del-boy.
  • Put to perfection

  • she read her ass better than a drag queen could!! I have always been a Bette Davis fan myself, but even Bette couldn't have dont that one better. DAYUM!!!

  • @sjtwitchable Thank you!!!! That's our Kate. No one could say it she can! "It's not that I don't want to know you Hilary, although I don't".........Get permanently lost!.......Don't speak Hilary, just go! LMAO!

  • she read her ass better than a drag queen could!! I have always been a Bette Davis fan myself, but even Bette couldn't have dont that one better. DAYUM!!!

  • classic

  • I hope I never have to give such a scathing speech to someone, but if I do I hope I'll use this scene for practice.

  • My favourite scene of a wonderfully acted movie. Thanks for posting!

  • 23 IS OF AGE ????

  • great movie

  • "It's not that I don't like you, Hilary, though I don't..."

  • Also love her swagger walking off. As if she is saying hell ya.

  • This is one of my favorite Katharine Hepburn clip of her career. It is so her. Just amazing.

  • This movie is timeless.

  • ABSOLUTELY PRI-CE-LE-SS!

This scene should be taught in the first lesson at any acting school. Textbook acting from the greatest actress of all time :)

  • This part of the movie, and the last with Spencer brings the whole movie to the stars!

Katharine does it with righteous indignation!

And Spencer does it with love!

  • look how kate does a sort of jedi mind trick at the end! omg! i adore her.

  • How can Hillary make out her own check for $5000? I mean, wouldn't the boss have to sign it to make it valid?

  • @trwent

Sounds like she was a partner in the business. Even if she isn't, as long as she was a signer on the acct. (manager maybe) it would clear.

  • Hats off Katharine!!

  • that's mrs. oleson from the coffee commercials

  • I LOVE KATHARINE!!!!!

  • LOL. Rubystars1000, Hiliary wasn't showing compassion for Hepburn's character, Christina. Hiliary was rubbing Christina's nose in what Hiliary assumed was a personal tragedy. Hepburn's character was no fool. She knew she was being mocked and condescended to. That's why she fired Hiliary. As the character Christina said, it was clear that she was no longer the kind of person with whom Hiliary would want to be associated anyway. So she did Hiliary a favor by firing her.

  • Start your motor LOL!

  • Katharine Hepburn is sexy as hell with that smile.

  • Its not that I don't want to know you Hilary, although I don't. - Brilliant.

  • to TubeRuleEnforcer You have more bullets than you need; one will do nicely

  • KATE IS BOSS.

  • <3 <3

"its not that i dont want to you hilary, although i dont."

    yesssssssssssssss

  • This should have gone in that "Best Movie Insults" clip. It's a little long, but it was still a BURN!

  • Katherine Hepburn, Classiest woman!

  • Katherine Hepburn will always go down as the Most Bad Ass Female of All Time!!!

  • Lol. The way she says Hilary.

  • I can't even express how awesome this is. This is acting, this is pure acting omg. She's a stunner!

  • "Dooon't speak, Hilary. Just Go" Love it, Love it, LOVE IT!! :)

  • Sidney Poitier...One. Fine. Man.

  • Katherine the Great.

  • Probably the best diss speech in a movie, ever. And a wonderful movie.

  • @ernestlsewell I could not agree more! Flawless! Katharine the GREAT, indeed! XD

  • go fuck yourself wettywild

  • MAAAAAAARVELOUS Katharine Hepburn!!

  • Love this, and Katherine Hepburn, always!

  • Disjointed film, but I love this scene!

  • THT'S HOW U DEAL WITH RACISM!!!

  • Katharine is amazing! She may be gone but her spirit will live forever.

  • Gawd! How fierce was this woman!! LEGENDARY.

  • One of the best termination scenes ever; done with grace, style and classic timing.

  • That smile that the Great Katherine gives -00:06 - to that woman tells you something is about to go down... and it did , bravo Kate !!!

This is one of my top ten movies of all time - every scene is perfection -one of the best screenplays ever !!!! At the time this was being filmed , Spencer and Katherine were still going strong with their love for each other , and it shows in the finale of this wonderful film .

  • I saw this after Ryan on whose line did an impression of her, since I am young and so not know who she is, I checked it out. She's a good actress. :)

  • "Get PERMANENTLY LOST"!!!

OMG, I aint never seen someone get fired like that!! had me nervous!! lol

  • This may sound bizarre, but Katharine Hepburn in this film reminds me of David Bowie...I think it's to do with the auburn hair, hmm....

  • One of my favorite scenes.

  • Katherine kicks ass.

  • That's a departure that starts out nice and gets bitter by the second until at last it just explodes. Damn! "Don't speak Hillary, just go!"

  • I sing about Hepburn and others in The Celebrity Song.

  • And BAM! I'm using Kate's hand gestures the next time I tell someone where to go. :)

  • perfect performance!

  • she is SO good! hahhahahaha awesome!!!

  • Hepburn. A great GREAT actress! Gone but NEVER forgotten.

  • FIERCE

  • sidney potier :)

  • "Start your motor..." Oh my God! I lost it when she said that...The gay man in me screamed to high heaven

  • She read her for the gods!

  • @mlrichi LOLOLOL. VERY well phrased.

  • she really dished that woman up lol, love it!!!!!!! damn nosey bastard.

  • CLASSIC

  • Kate is Boss. On screen and off screen.

  • I know someone who watches the whole movie just for this scene......

  • "It's not like I don't want too know you Hillary, Althought I don't" "Don't speak Hiilary just GO!"

HaaaHaaa! That's my fav lines of this whole movie!

  • @lovegrams19 mine too!!! i still cant get it out of my head! its INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Katharine had a house behind her friend director George Cukor's estate.. When Spencer died.. She called MGM, and they arranged everything. She didn't go to the funeral. Katharine went to the funeral home and paid her last respects then...AND i heard she placed something in his Spencers Casket...

  • you go katherine!

  • that has to be the smoothless way to tell someone to "piss off and ur a snob"

  • in my family "snobs" are common place

  • just think what would hepburn do...

  • Love this scene, it reminds me of the small town and minded people who live here. So many of the people here are still in the 30's to 50's mindset.

  • What's wrong with that?

In general [after WWII] the world was a much better place in those times.

  • I never knew Mrs. Olsen was a racist.

  • I want the Falcon station wagon.

  • pwnd <3

  • This is the best scene from the movie. Thanks for posting!

  • OH YES SHE DID. <3 Katharine.

"don't speak, hillary just go." - do you know how much i use that line? with the gesture of course.

  • Totally!

  • Who do you think should have won?

  • To my mind, it should be Anne Bancroft for her astonishing & seductive classic role in The Graduate.

    Your thoughts?

  • Although I feel Bancroft's is edging into supporting I will not deny that she wasn't great.

My pick is for right now, between Bancroft, A. Hepburn, and Dunaway.

  • Katherine Hepburn was the right choice. THOUGH, there are several back stories, and all have to do with Spencer. Go look it up. IT has been greatly discussed about the last scene where Spencer looks at Kate. IT IS then you see tears well up in her eyes.... Years later she reveal that was the first time she knew he was truly going to die...and this would be their last time together...he passed away at her house... 7 days later? The Academy was saying to Kate..for the both of u two... for the both

  • @UFOSPACE1999

Very true. Hepburn arranged when Spnecer died out of res[ect to his wife and children, had him transported to their home and then the authorities were called. While the affair they had may have been wrong and adultry only a true strong women could have at that moment in time been able to put her feelings and side and think of the wife and kids and shelled their dignity in the way she did.

  • 18 days UFO. Kate always said that she couldn't watch this movie because she felt she was cheating the public because she wasn't acting. Of course she wasn't. In every scene she is in, you can see the tears welling up in her eyes. He was dying and their was nothing she could do about it.

  • I know that (obviously!) this is Kate's scene, and rightly so. But I do think Virginia Christine (Hillary) was one of Hollywood's most underappreciated character actresses. She, too, was brilliant in this movie.

  • @stickstr8up

I agree about Virginia. She was MUCH underappreciated. Her bit as hysterical Cousin Wilma in BODY SNATCHERS still haunts me. Her and Fritz were warm, kind people. She said it was hard for her to play this part as it was totally opposite of who she was.

  • pity spencer tracy died before this film was released...mind you he should have gotten the best ator oscar for his inredible performance in this

  • "Don't speak. Just go."

Gotta add that one to my repertoire.

  • @mytmyt That, and "Get permanently lost".

  • @mytmyt I love Kates hand movements/gesture when she says ''dont speak..just go''

  • After Spencer Tracey's speech at the end, this is my favorite scene in this movie. Just kicks that woman to the curb!

  • 'It's not that I don't want to know you, although I don't.....' WHAT A LEJJJ!!!

  • Kate was always on Point!!! This is just Brilliant.

  • Fantastic! Kate at her best.

  • i love how she speaks lol

  • she was not the one to be fucked with!

  • How much do I love this scene! ah! That woman has a sort of class unmatched by others!!

  • is there anyway i could watch this whole movie on here? i've never seen the whole thing b4

  • That's how you fire a bitch like that! Just priceless!!

  • @pnawia and that Hepburn didnt blink ONCE!

  • @pnawia Doesn't know how to act, overated, unreal seems like she's acting

  • @MitchGCoast To whom are you referring?

  • @unclebobunclebob KAtherine

  • @MitchGCoast Do really know how to act or you are those pple who see mistakes where there are no mistakes!!

  • lol

  • The woman in the car should have got an award for that facial expression.

  • BAD...ASS...

    Ms. Hepburn is amazing.

  • I love this film. Katharine TOLD that OLD,UGLY,WHITE RACIST BITCH OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love Katharine.

  • We all knew she was White, a little racist on your part to add that in to your comment.

  • This is the best tell off of all times! Classic Hepburn. She is a Goddess!

  • ha, DAAAAAAAMN!

She told her like it was!

    :DD

  • it's the wave of the hand at the end that made that performance i think :D

lols we watched that in drama but i had to miss the end and i was SOOOO upset

  • Yes...the hand motion to silence her and the hand wave for her to leave was classic

  • Someone needs to post the whole movie...that would be cool!!!

  • Oooh.....This should be titled, "Katherine Hepburn CUTS A BITCH....."

And looks damn good doin' it too.....

  • LOL!
