Great book!

I wached "The Fencing Master" soon and it was not bad. Not far from the novel plot. So, now I am curious about watching "The Flanders Table".

"The Ninth Gate" was a really bad movie...

I didn't know there was a movie about The Fencing Master! I liked that book, also. The Ninth Gate was totally different from the book, that's the point... interesting but unsatisfying in the end (especially if you know what happens in the novel). However APR's books always have something about them you ca'nt quite translate visually...

The movie is called 'El maestro de esgrima' (1992, I think) and I really liked it. The actress performing Isabela de Otero was brilliant while don Jaime de Astarloa was like a true Jedi ;) Just as it was in the book.

i loved the novel!...of cource is one of my favorite books. thanks a lot for make this great video, is the first video i found about the adaptation from book to movie.

please i know almost everyone hates the movie but i still want to watch it ...anything about a link or someting where i can get it? i have been searching the internet but i just cant find it.

But.. Julia kills César? no..! Its very different in the book! And the blond dude is Muñoz? I imagined him completely different.. Why does he have a relationship with Julia? I really didnt like the movie..

Anyways.. its an excellent book

I must confess I don't remember everything of the book, since I read it long ago and instead watched the movie just the last month. It's anyway my favourite of Pérez Reverte. But I agree with you, I had the impression the movie took away most of the interesting aspects of the story (I loved Muñoz!).
