Technically a "dragsaw", sawmills slice logs into lumber, where these cut wood to length, later replaced by chainsaws. Neat video just the same and I've missed out on buying one or two.
My Gt Grandfather had 2 portable saw mills he would move from bridge site to bridge site while they were building roads in southern VA,My Grandfather still has one but the hit and miss style engine has long since been replaced,he is gone now and the roof over it has collapsed while they try to settle the estate, I told my mother to tell whichever brother or sister that ends up with it please dont let it leave the family
Yea I learned the hard way my Gt Uncle had a 67 Ford shortbed with a 360, I used to tell him I was going to buy it and he said he knew one day it would be mine. After he died I assumed it was a matter of time when his wife would call me and tell me to pick it up, but one of their daughters sold it to some one they knew, I was devistated, I did not want to pester her and I lost out

Thank you for the info - I will change the title and info on it. I did not make it to this fair for 2009. Hope to catch some other ones. :)

That is good thinking... hit & miss engines are really neat. When I bought mine, the 90 year old guy made me promise to never sell it off ;)
