  • @dallase1 I can jump on the very top platform. On the arcade version.

  • im using rom and i only got 34k.....*sigh*

  • i 2 am playing on Dk64. i am around 100k a run now. Just keep working at it and you will know what to do and when to do it.

  • It has to be an approved unaltered arcade DK cabinet.

So no of course a N64 port does not count at all.

  • I searched it from Google, and played it, but its impossible to play the first level, and I'm so angry that I "die" to the barrels all the time >:(

  • I played this game on an arcade machine in Winnipeg once. But the one on DK64 seems a bit harder. Why?

  • Maybe (just a theory) they made it harder so you would go back to playing DK64. Plus, arcade games have notoriously high difficulty levels so you keep pumping in fistful of quarters. ;-)

  • Hmmm..Interesting.

  • THis game on DK64 was SO hard... :(

  • I think the NES version was hard after you beat the first set of levels

  • on 1-3 level 3 and higher go left then go up the ladder

  • Lastly, i hope you learned how to control the barrells from the movie. And the only suggestion for the pie factory (or cement factory) is that the firebalsl will come out on the side that mario is on, at teh beggining and right after you kill them. So it can be really easy if you dont move untill all the fireballs are out on one side.

  • Also you should look into changing the elevator stage strategy. You should get the umbrella and purse, and you should jump from the second elevator to just under the last elevator you go up, so that you save a bunch of time and dont have to deal with the fireballs and springs on teh far right side.

My best score on the arcade donkey kong is 205,000 and that is 10 loops. If you want to really learn get the mame version for you computer.

  • when you kill a fireball on the right side of the screen they re appear on the left side. Therefore you can trap all five on the left side. And have about 3000 bonus left to jump beside donkey kong (research on internet or youtube). This translates into 6000 points instead of 3000 points. And you get every prize and kill all the fireballs at least once. And you will have to really screw up to die.

  • your rivet stage level could probably use a better pattern. You should do some research and learn about the whole jumping next to donkey kong to get 100 points over and over. You should try and trap all the fireballs on the left side. You should get all the blocks on the left except the second layer with the hammer. Then when 1-3 fireballs are also on teh second level, graph the hammer, and make your way all the way to the right. This way you close the left side, and when you kill a firebal

  • The record has to be on a machine and (you did good not saying this to you just commenting people) ya Billy has the high score of 1,000,000 something and my dad did good on the arcade machine he got over 100,000 and he won a 6-pack of beer and Im proud of him

  • my best on the n64 version is 334,000. btw, the n64 version is much easier than the arcade version, probably due to much smoother controls and that you swing the hammer much faster, and the hammer becomes "active" the second you touch it, rather about a second after you land. the fireballs on the pie factory don't respawn. The springs on the elevators move much slower. The fireballs on the barrel stage aren't nearly as aggressive. So, to answer question 1, no. My record on the original dk; 119k.

  • That and the fact that the level layout is completely different on the N64.

  • Good point, the first time I played it I thought it was the Japanese version, which I know uses the same layout.

  • congrats and your so true

  • @eggertstwart Gameboy version rules!

  • nice

  • They have separate categories on twin galaxies so you can submit a high score for a 360 game. I would get a better camera if you are going to submit to them though.

  • you do have to use an actual arcade machine he's right

  • Your good at this. Screwed over in the end though :(

  • you have to use an actual arcade machine to make scores count ;)

  • or Wii Virtual Console Twin Galaxies allows it, im trying to post mah DONKEY KONG Wii Virtual console score of 81700 (double and more of the 1st place guy, Jason D. Doi) i feel like placing a pic on youtube so i can be top of TWIN GALAXIES leaderboards for Virtual Console Donkey Kong

  • ha thats funny cause i got like 225,000 on the wii version of donkey kong

  • haha, that is funny!

  • the arcade machine is harder

  • Not true. They seperate the catagories. You need to have an arcade to beat Billy or Steve's high score because it was set on an arcade maching

  • not the overall donkey kong score steve used donky kong junior 3 or something like that to break it

  • He beat his Donkey Kong score too.

  • i know i watched the thing after it came on on g4 billy beat his score live
