  • When I think of Rachel Maddow I think of her as a smart journalist who does her homework way before I think of her sexuality. Regardless of her orientation, she is a brilliant researcher.

  • Horrible woman! What man in his right mind would want to marry that thing? Mr Cohen has patience of Budda! I'd have just walked out of the studio!!!!!

  • @dukeofbute

Attack her, the messenger, all you want... it's what fringe Rightists do when they can't refute something with corroboration. We understand. We get that. But your weakness at argument still would not belie the FACT that there's no independently verifiable corroboration for this guy's methods. NONE.

And think about it: if there was, then do you TRULY believe that *he* would be the one cornering the market?

  • Rachel, you're my hero. -3

  • His poor wife.

  • @musicalywhoo She is most likely lesbian

  • She's agressive and shows no tolerance. An interiew is not to manipulate the guest, and guides him to your (her) point of view.

  • @calf2004

What do you expect her to do, with someone peddling crap that's been disproven or disagreed with by nearly all major psychological associations in the west.... sit there and let it go unchallenged? That's then called a fluff piece, not an interview.

  • @ImmortalSynn

    man, what r u saying?

everyone has the right to disagree, i mean, what each comunity says, history shows that sometimes she's wrong. What everybody says never is what causes a revolution, but what a single man sometimes, may be the answer... I

  • @calf2004

"everyone has the right to disagree"

Sure, but that in no way means that their disagreement is backed up by fact.

"but what a single man sometimes"

Think about what you just said:

as much hatred as there is for gay people out there... do you REALLY think that if this "curing" nonsense PROVABLY worked, that THIS lone dope would be the one cornering the market??

Or do you think every major corporation/pharmaceutical out there would be on this, with billions in support?

  • fucking love rachel maddow

  • this guy makes no sense I have a great relationship with my dad and have alot of straight friends. I like guys not just sexually I feel more comfortable with a guy emotionally then i do with woman.

  • divorce leads to homosexuality LOL this guys is a lunatic!

  • "Healing process"????? He is saying that homosexuality is a disease. Sooo is being asexual a disease as well? Or what about all those heterosexual couples out there that dont want or have children? They must be diseased and their marriage should be annulled.....

  • part 2

If we can get rid of the homophobia and discrimination that GLBTI people face then the excuse that someone has to change, because they don't fit the 'NORM' will have no traction.

People who appear to go from Hetero to Homosexual are, for the most part people who have tried to deny their sexual orientation because of family (parental/social) expectations. Eventually they cannot deny who they are.

Many marriages break down because people are trying to live up to such expectations.

  • Rachel, well done. this guy is peddling 'snake oil' to vulnerable people. He pathologises homosexuality every time he says he had to go through a healing process and in the next breath he wants us to believe that he supports G & L people who, in his words "want to stay that way."

This guy is fooling himself and trying to delude anyone else who listens to his falsehood.

Sexuality cannot be changed and any attempt is psychologically damaging to the individual.

We need to get rid of the hate.

  • this is the first time ive seen her look away from the interviewee and shuffle her papers during an interview. that's the most contempt she can show on set bc she tends not to use words like "bigoted fuckstick"

  • You go girl! :D

  • I'm amazed that even when he agrees with what she's saying, she STILL feels the need to attack. How can you disagree with a person's PERSONAL EXPERIENCE?? What gives her the right to say that "it can't happen?" When people go from Heterosexual relationships to Homosexual ones, I don't see anyone up in arms. It's always "that's always who you were" So why is it so impossible to believe the reverse? You can go from straight to gay, but not the other way around? Nonsense!

  • @EtherealScribe

Are you ranting just to hear yourself talk, or do you want the answer?

If so, she's doing it because there's NO empirical evidence that people who switch from straight to gay/bi relationships didn't have a gay/bi orientation in the first place, and are only modifying behavior to align with orientation. Don't believe it? Try to find a single accredited and peer-reviewed psych association in the Western world that'd disagree. You won't.

  • @ImmortalSynn

That still doesn't answer the gay/bi to straight question. IS it your belief that a person that actually goes from being gay/bi to straight is "denying" who they "truly" are? And again, I ask, how can you argue with PERSONAL EXPERIENCE? If you had a great meal at a restaurant that I had a bad meal at. how can I tell you that there's NO WAY you had a great meal there because I had a horrible meal there? (an over simplification, I know)

  • @EtherealScribe

"IS it your belief that a person that actually goes from being gay/bi to straight is "denying" who they "truly" are?"

That question is in inapplicable on its merit, as I have no factual reason to believe that anyone "goes from being gay/bi to straight."

"I ask, how can you argue with PERSONAL EXPERIENCE?"

Easy, because "personal experience" is highly debatable, factually dubious, and statistically anecdotal. That's a nice way of saying "people can/do lie"

  • @ImmortalSynn

ok. "Try to find a single accredited and peer-reviewed psych association in the Western world that'd disagree". The reason that this is true is b/c science and faith disagree that homosexuality is something that you're born with and are unable to do anything about. I just don't believe that you can argue with PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. Sorry that you considered that a "rant". I watched the video in its totality, agreed with where Rachel went at times, and then posted.

  • @EtherealScribe

"I just don't believe that you can argue with PERSONAL EXPERIENCE"

Which only goes to show that you have no comprehension of the concept of empirical evidence. "Personal experience" is essentially the WORST element that one can attempt to use as such, because it's so easily manipulated (or outright falsified) due to external benefits/consequences.

  • @EtherealScribe

    (continued)

...to use your own restaurant scenario as an example:

it could have been the most horrible meal you ever had-- but if the restaurant is owned by your sister, whose career is on the line, are you telling me you'd honestly say "worst meal ever" if immediately asked by a food critic, with your sister standing right there? No, of course not.

But other INDEPENDENTLY OBSERVABLE factors (e.g. taking only a few bites, frowning, etc) can tell the true story.

  • @ImmortalSynn

True, I may not rat my sister's horrible restaurant out to a critic LOL! My personal belief is that ANYTHING is possible.

"I have no factual reason to believe that anyone "goes from being gay/bi to straight."

Fact and truth are not the same thing. Your position seems to be that it is an IMPOSSIBILITY for anyone to change. That seems a tad bit final. It seems to me that you cannot argue with what someone HONESTLY believes.

  • @EtherealScribe

"Your position seems to be that it is an IMPOSSIBILITY for anyone to change"

Wrong. I just told you what my belief is: that I've seen no independently verifiable evidence; i.e., the hallmark of science; to support that it does happen, thus I don't believe it does.

That is NOT the same as saying that under some as-of-yet-unobserved scenario/situation/influence/circumstance that it can't, ever.

  • @EtherealScribe

"It seems to me that you cannot argue with what someone HONESTLY believes."

Again, that makes no sense. It's VERY easy to argue with what someone honestly believes... because what they "honestly believe" may have absolutely zilch root in fact, and may be quite provably wrong. Not to say that that's the case here, but still, in concept.......

  • @ImmortalSynn

when i say argue, i mean that once someone truly believes something, whether or not it has been proved/disproved, it is difficult to sway their thinking. Faith, unlike science, doesn't need "empirical" evidence to support it. This kind of change, i believe, is a matter of faith, not science. BTW, thank you for engaging in a rational, level-headed discussion on this topic. I have seen some pretty ugly exchanges go on!

  • @EtherealScribe

"This kind of change, i believe, is a matter of faith, not science."

Was in agreement with you up until that part. I think it's holistically mislead. I know pray-away-the-gay stories, hell, I've experienced it first hand. They always lead to identity crises and disaster. Always. Very few times will I use such definitive language, but I'll say it again: always.

  • Maddow = Esther

    Cohen = Haman

  • Can we have therapists help straight people out of their heterosexuality as well?

  • He should have know better... Rachel can read his book cover to cover in 3 minutes and then have him as a snack! Pwnd!

  • I love watching her smack down douche bags.

  • Can someone who has better eyes than I do (which means anyone who reads this comment) tell whether Rachel has gray hair at her part? It appears that way, but I can't quite tell...

  • "No, I'm reading it from your book, dude" HAHA

  • He's got this 'cult leader' thing going on that bugs me.

Right on, Rachel! Hold him to the light so that we can see what is what.

  • "you're taking this out of context, Rachel..."

"No, I'm reading it out from you, dude."

    hahaha, gotta love her!

  • Some people want to rid themselves of feelings that they believe are bad for them. Not everyone wants to act on urges and would like to eliminate them and some dont.

  • @cocoinfinity1 well your only human it is a part of you you dont that man has thought about men in the last 20 years he has and will forever i will never live a lie he came from time were we could not be ourselfs he unfornately choose his path a path of lies.

  • @gibletlover

...punctuation is your friend. Let it introduce itself. You'll enjoy the relationship, and so will others around you. :-/

  • @ImmortalSynn really thats all you have to say punctuation boring iam on freaken youtube not an english class and what does that have to do with the issue wow great answer.

  • @gibletlover

Because it makes you come off as a goddamn idiot, and takes away from any possible point you could be, but likely aren't, establishing.... mostly because it gets jumbled up in the rest of your run-ons.

Granted, common sense should've told you that beforehand-- which doesn't exactly help in downplaying the appearance of you being a dumbass. Next?

  • @ImmortalSynn wow you talk about social equality and how people should act you diss me cause i dont spell good. good show of true colors dude last time i try to say somthing for a good cause even if its bad spelling i was just saying i agree with you have a good day

  • @gibletlover

"wow you talk about social equality"

    I do? Where?

I'd certainly love for you to so me such talk... because I don't believe in any such concept. Equality of Opportunity in an educational and a right of access sense? Yes. Should be an objective. But you'll NEVER hear me call for "social equality" because I don't believe humans are capable of achieving such.

  • All hes saying is that people dont have to act on inclinations. People can learn to control anger so why not lusty feelings?

  • @cocoinfinity1

"People can learn to control anger so why not lusty feelings?"

All you're demonstrating is that you lack the (rather basic) ability to separate the concept of being gay, from gay sex (or the lust for such) itself. Wow.

  • Ha, all that means is that you have fire, and that loosey goosey politicians couldnt talk around or manipulate the real talking points with you! Whole system is a circus, but if honest people start seeking these positions, the facade of an honest democratic system might manifest in true form for once. Great meeting you.

  • @Immortal, your hit the nail on the head, precise analysis of logic and the true meaning of statements made might require you to run for office. Your clarity of wisdom would offer a much needed refreshing breath of oxygen to our current political anarchy! Seriously!

  • @PayneReceptors

Um, thanks! But I'm way too much of an asshole to ever make it in elections... I'd get like two votes. ;)

  • Dude is an ignorant moron. Idea that an invisible fairy tale Middle Eastern gods derivative writings are what humans must base their ethics on is ludicrous. Peoples need to control what other people do is the real source of humanities problems. Live and let live. His pseudopsychology is nonesense!

  • "I'm reading it from your book, DUDE!"

    What a dyke.

  • @LisaSpringfield

    "What a dyke"

Wow, it must be Obvious Day on planet Duhhhh!

Where can we meet other geniuses like you?!

  • @LisaSpringfield Yeah, straight women NEVER say 'dude'. oh waiiiiiit. They do! Also, who the shit cares? 30 year olds and under commonly say 'dude'. Whopdee.

  • FUCK FAAGS DIED SLOW! GOD DON'T WONT YOU...

  • @pipo26100

    *sigh*

The word is ” want”... and if God didn't want gays around, then why the heck does he keep creating so many?

  • @ImmortalSynn Those Faggot disease create them self sick fuck! They choose to be gay they have a choice PUSSY are DICK! They give those FAGS to much freedom and U.S.A They should be hang like dogs and put to jail for life. If my son was gay i would tell that faggot kill your self disease MTF! Are you could get the fuck out the my house...

  • @pipo26100

Can't really make out what it is you're actually trying to say. You've gotten the use of punctuation now, but now we gotta work on sentence structure. What I don't seem to see though, is an answer to the question I just asked you-- only very strange diction. Try again?

  • I'm in love with her, dude.

  • @dantefontaine123 Reading his work back to him is not an ambush. If anything, it is a sincere quest for answers for some of the stupid shit he had the gall to write. Maybe he doesn't support the misuse of his work. And then again, maybe he should have looked a little closer at his resources before he wrote a book to try to encourage LGBT people to change (Paul Cameron is a pariah in the professional world because of his flippant misuse and fabrication of studies to demonize LGBT people).

  • I don't believe that homosexuals are able to choose, but I resent this woman's interview approach. She makes exaggerated claims, blaming the author of an alternative perspective for murder legislation in Uganda. It reminds me of Bill O'Reilly focusing on feelings and partial facts rather than complete perspectives and logic. The Uganda regime is responsible for their decisions. The man does not support their missuse of his work. People have missused the bible in similar ways...just saying...

  • @dantefontaine123 For one thing, her name isn't "this woman." Her name is Rachel Maddow. It's actually in the tittle of the video. Secondly, when a man such as Richard Cohen makes such ludacris claims (falsely linking LGBT people to pedophiles, claiming that heteronormativity is the golden standard, etc), it is asinine to see these snake oil salesmen balk and feign surprise when legislation such as the Ugandan "Kill the Gays" bill become a reality. This is scarcely an "ambush" interview.

  • Ok, so I'm gay and I'm 16 and I don't want to piss anyone off but I know I was BORN gay and maybe what he said was true. By that I mean maybe he had some unresolved issues witch resulted in him expressing same sex feelings as a heterosexual. How elts would he know how to fix it or that there is a problem to starte with and there is the fact that he does not feel same sex attractions anymore. I think there are 2 things going on here in the world. I think that there are people that are gay and

  • She did a wonderful job. This man looked incredibly uncomfortable by the end, and you can tell he knows he did something wrong. I remember one story where Ugandan's were printing names, addresses, and pictures of Gay citizens in some newspapers, citing that factually false quote of pedophilia. I love how much she discredited him, and I hope such hateful rhetoric disguised as "fact" by false "professionals" will continue to be debunked.

  • The sad part is that he actually believes he's helping people.

  • This man is effed.

  • Ok, this guy is gayer than christmas!! Does he even know how gay he is??! What a joke!

  • "how does race make you gay?"

    "it doesn't"

BUT IT'S IN YOUR BOOK DUDE!

  • I wonder if this guy ever considered that just maybe he wasn't gay but was bi?

  • When I think about life and society in general most days I despair that we have to share a planet with idiots like this man... maybe I should just give in to becoming a misanthrope and go live as a recluse somewhere... *sigh*

  • Rachel rocks and is 100 percent correct and if you bigots do not like it, well take a long walk off of a short pier!

  • I think he's confusing the 'choice' offered by bisexuality with actual homosexuality. Not to say he's not a bumbling fool.

  • Rachel is so rude and obnoxious.

  • @Acclamatar

    How exactly? Cite specifics please.

  • @ImmortalSynn In the beginning of this video she slams him with the insult of being a gay basher later on she doubt his creditability even though he has experience. She tried to say that he has blood on his hands for Ugandans basing their law off his book which he denounced in the beginning.

  • @Acclamatar

"later on she doubt his creditability"

Considering that he not only has NO psychological accreditation, and the little that he previous had was REVOKED... then I'd say yeah, that's a pretty good doubt to have.

  • @ImmortalSynn He has a master's degree she mentioned it herself, you don't have to have a license in some states to practice . He gave a creditble answer as to why he was revoked from the association there is alot of descrimination out there.

  • @Acclamatar

"He gave a creditble answer as to why he was revoked from the association there is alot of descrimination out there."

The word's "discrimination," and the REASON he was (as he calls it) discriminated against, is because his methods were found ethically questioned and repeatedly inconclusive by independent review--- which in any SCIENTIFIC community, is a pretty damn good reason to "discriminate" against someone's work, now isn't it.

  • @ImmortalSynn "ethically questioned and repeatedly INCONCLUSIVE" that basically means they can't nail him on anything that he did as unethical .

  • @Acclamatar

Apparently, context is lost on you. Finish the sentence genius: "repeatedly inconclusive by independent review"-- which means they couldn't be conclusively replicated by independent sources, which violates a fundamental tenant of the Scientific Method. Heard of it? I hear it's a popular concept nowadays.......

  • @ImmortalSynn As a current science student myself, I've gotta say, you nailed the argument and also the other guy's head in the wall. Pretty damn straight ahead and shut him up for good. Good on you :))

  • @ImmortalSynn So his methods can't be proven yet he has thousands of patient all over the world to back him. Are they not a factor.

  • @Acclamatar

"yet he has thousands of patient all over the world to back him."

Oh? K, then it shouldn't be hard to name ten of them then, and cite each one of them backing him in a situation independent of the others. Get to it.

    Well?

  • @ImmortalSynn Despite their men and men have pride and a right to privacy. Not many men want to voice their previous sexual orientation.

  • @Acclamatar

The word's "they're," and it sort of defeats the purpose to have alleged supporters... if those supporters are scared/embarrassed to come out and actually--- oh I dunno-- SUPPORT you, don't you think? lol

  • @ImmortalSynn Doesn't mean its not true. Gay people should'nt be offended by this because he is promoting an OPTIONAL conversion form gay to straight program if you want to be gay fine down shout down others who don't want to be.

  • @Acclamatar

    "Doesn't mean its not true"

Are you kidding me with this? What you're basically saying is "just because I can't provide evidence that they exist, it doesn't mean they're not out there, so I can use them as proof toward the argument at hand."

ROFL, you might as well be talking about space aliens!

  • @ImmortalSynn Then what did the association kick him out for if he doesn't patient that testified that his program worked.

  • @Acclamatar

Uh, mind writing that again, this time in English? I have no idea what you're trying to ask.

  • @ImmortalSynn If he has no patients to back him up then the organization would'nt have kick him out for the reason they said they did.

  • @Acclamatar

That makes absolutely no sense. And what "the" organization are you talking about?

  • @ImmortalSynn ACA the organization they were talking about. And by the way he wasn't the only one that protested the ACA's decision other members joined him.

  • @Acclamatar

What's your point? There's people who protest the incarceration of serial killers for cryin' out loud... additional support does not equate to accuracy.

  • @ImmortalSynn These are'nt lunatics im talking about these are educated members of the ACA that are backing him.

  • @Acclamatar

And of course I'm going to sayyyyy.....(drum roll please)..... "Name them" Cite 'em. Who are these folks that you claim are supporting him. Let's have it.

  • @ImmortalSynn .

There read the article the ACA rarely uses permant expelsion of a member as a sanction. And apparently all of the complaints of theses "accusations" came from 1 PERSON. Its odd that there are'nt more clients testifying against him. And why such a harsh punishment for what 1 client says?

  • @Acclamatar

First, I don't believe you on any of that, because you cannot specifically cite anything to back it up.

Secondly, you STILL don't get it. The ACA is not the only psychological/psychiatric society to dismiss Cohen's work. In fact, EVERY such association in North American and Europe that he's ever been privy to, have done the same.

  • I think the issue of sexuality, is very complex. Not all people are the same. One person saying he is gay is not every person who says they are gay. There is no black or white. Some may feel some same sex attraction, but have no desire for same sex relationship. And people like this who have homosexual experiences, may discover later on, they would much rather be in a relationship with the other sex. For me, it's mostly about who you want to give love to, and receive love from.

  • Rachel Maddow is such a badass, I want to put my mouth on her mouth

  • im reading it from your book dude lol

  • "I'm the victim of a hate crime."

    Well, that's pretty fucking ironic.

  • lol does this guy actually believe that people literally pthe gay away?

  • So sad. He seems like a compassionate human being who is really trying to do good, but he is doing such incredible irreparable harm to so many people. I hope he claws his way back out of the closet someday.

  • Is anyone else reminded of Tobias from Arrested Development?

  • That was possibly the best interview i've ever seen her do. Elbow from the sky! For anyone who suggests sexuality is a choice, why on earth would a gay person choose to live a life of discrimination and difficulty? It literally doesn't make any sense.

  • MARCH 2010 UPDATE: "GAY" GENE FOUND!

Here's a video you should watch here on you tube:

The 'Gay Brain' Explained - Louann Brizendine

    Also just google:

    GAY BRAIN

And you're going to see all the recent discovery that gay man's brain is like a females and lesbians brains are like males.

Scientifictly proven, that is NOT A CHOICE, you are who you are since the night your parents... well... you know... and here we are!

  • PEOPLE WHO SAY that being GAY IS A CHOICE

    MEANS that THEYRE BISEXUAL!

Because BISEXUALS are the ONLY ones that can CHOOSE between the 2 sexes!

Im pretty sure SOME of the HETEROS wouldn't like to hear truth about their REAL sexuality and the only way they battle their real feelings is by grabbing a bible and become Homophobes.

REAL STRAIGHT PEOPLE are OK with gays cause their SECURE with their sexuality and dont feel threatn by gay people.

  • @NuLaifMusic Not quite - Bisexuals can 'choose' the same way a straight or gay person can choose not to admit that they're attacted to someone. Yes, those who claim to have been 'cured' of being gay are most likely bi or pansexual, but the only thing they've been 'cured' of is the ability to admit the truth.

  • STR8 Homophobes are people who have previews experiences or gay toughts mostly when they're children or teens. And now they want to block that or make it dissapear from their lifes forever. So they think that by them gettingrid of "Gays" means gettingrid of their past. ln others words, we gotta be the VICTIMS because they dont want to face their past!

Weapon that they use to fight this is called "The Bible".

Example: ANTI GAY PASTOR Ted Haggard was caught with GAY MALE!

  • That man is pure evil and seriously in denial. The American Psychological Association says homosexuality is a normal and healthy part of humany sexuality and to deny or repress it causes serious harm to your psyche. That explains why that dudes effing nuts!

  • "i'm reading it from your book, dude!"

  • Oh, that dude is totally gay.

  • @ToysAndChocolates lol. No he "used" to be gay. Now he's "cured". lol

  • Something tells me this guys still craves cock... way to keep your cool Rachel, you are amazing!

  • Rachel should have owned him. seriously, if his "homosexuality" was just the lack of a father and that was sexualized after puberty, he's saying that he was never really homosexual, but his need for a father had been sexualized. Therefore, all arguments are invalid.

  • This is the basis of the gay rights argument. If one believes that being gay isn't a choice, it becomes very hard to justify any prejudice towards them. I personally believe it isn't. Why would any straight man choose to be gay. If you choose to have a d*ck in ur a**, ur not straight.

  • @youngonewun

Why should choice vs non-choice even matter? Hell, religion is a choice... yet how many legal protections are offered based on that?? No one is born Hindu/Christian/Jewish/Muslim, etc, they CHOOSE to be and they CHOOSE to continue being. And while the ex-gay stuff is controversial in proof, EVERYONE knows somebody who's walked away from or changed their religion.

So again, why does it have to revolve around choice?

  • @ImmortalSynn Yes we have legal protections for religion thanks to the first ammendment. Thank God. But what I was referring to really was the arguement that most people that don't believe in any kind of other prejudice (towards blacks, women etc) use. The arguement that they choose to be that way, so it's ok to say their evil, or that they shouldn't have the right to marry like straight people can, or they shouldn't have rights to not be discriminated against in their work place for being gay.

  • @youngonewun

After reading this one from several different perspective approaches... I gotta say, I have no idea what you're trying to convey with this. Clarify?

  • @ImmortalSynn I myself was raised in a southern baptist house/ church. Their basic arguement that they use is being gay is a choice and therefore it's ok to deny them civil liberties and the right to marry. It's based off of "hate the sin, not the sinner" arguement. They teach that being gay is a sin, and therefore is a choice that a person makes to do or not do, like say, murder. If being gay isnt a choice than the arguement that I've heard from the christian community is shot down. This help?

  • @youngonewun

As a Southern Baptist-raised person myself, I already knew that. But I do thank you for taking the time to contribute/help. What I meant was more from a political/constitutional perspective.

The argument is that it shouldn't have codified equality if homosexuality is a choice. My question is: so is religion. It's a choice, yet protected. So by what strain of logic should one COMPLETE CHOICE be legally protected, whereas another ALLEGED choice not. See where I'm going?

  • @ImmortalSynn I see your point. I believe that sometimes the only reason religion hasn't suffered from more discrimination is because it's explicitly written in the first ammendment. If not for that I think it too would had suffered from prejudice and discrimination. Just look at the ground zero mosque debate, and what Herman Cain had said about not having any muslims in his cabinet and that communities should be able to ban mosques.

  • lol is it just me or are liberal douchebags finding pwnage in a clip where there is no pwnage?...by the way, throughout the entire interview, rachel maddow has a face that looks like she just tasted bad pussy lulz

  • @WickederThanThou

Ever notice that you're the only one laughing at such juvenile prattle? Ever stop to wonder why that may be? Genuinely curious.

  • OMG this guy is a creep... who acts like this? Im glad Rachel schooled his insincere and ignorant ass!

  • Pwned!!! Get em' Rachel!!!

  • Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.

A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.

Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.

  • @lightandbeautiful

"Different" does not automatically equal "deficient." Any educated people know this.

Just like there are differences between men and women, or black and white. Your drivel is the same type of bullshit that focused on any such differences, no matter how irrelevant they might be, to deny women and people of color fair treatment under the law. Nothing new with the likes of your kind.

  • that fucking smile on his face

  • THAT GUY JUST GOT OWNED!

  • This guy should be rounded-up and hung from the nearest lamppost.

  • THIS WOMAN IS BRILLIANT! SHE IS GOD TO ME! AHAHAHAHAAHAA <3 THIS! ....

  • I think the only ones who can ignore their same sex attractions are bi-sexuals. In a sense it is for them a choice, It's not a choice for those who are truly homosexual.

  • @Marchant2

...but then, what defines a "true" homosexual? According to Kinsey, less than 2% of a randomized population is exclusively homosexual. And farrrrr less so are exclusively heterosexual.

Hell, plenty have theorized that the only true "100% heterosexuals" are transvestites (NOT transsexuals) who are still attracted to the opposite gender-- as they don't even have enough homosexuality to tolerate the sight of their own form.

  • @ImmortalSynn kinsey's work is cute, but i don't even think there is accurate common usage of the term homosexual in human nature for it to have some logical way of approaching it atm,

without applying enough conditions to make any form of bias outcome possible.

  • Just when i didn't think she could be any more wonderful she goes and says, "I'm reading it from your book dude."

  • The bottom line is this, people like this bigot try to disguise his hatred and bigotry with words like "love" and "compassion". He's anti gay, has blood on his hands and shouldn't be allowed to publish lies like this. He isn't even licensed and clearly a fraud. Get over it people, gay people are born, they have been here since the beginning of time and will be here forever. Instead of spreading hate, learn to live with them in harmony.

  • shame on you richard cohen.

  • Trust me 'dude' Rachel was never rejected :).

  • Some people who have experience are sometimes more correct than people with licenses. It could be an arbitrary standard on Rachel's part because she wants a reason to discredit him. Also, any extremist can take someone elses work an use it for their cause.

  • @solaphyde

"Some people who have experience are sometimes more correct than people with licenses."

Sure, but there's still a standard of protocol here that's surprisingly lacking in mental health services. I mean, you could have all the experience in the world on the road, but no state will permit you to drive without a license. You could know all the sickness remedies there are, but you can't practice physical health without licensing. So why can you for mental health, in many states??

  • @ImmortalSynn well probably b/c of we licensed everything, many people couldn't do anything.

  • @solaphyde

    ...that makes no sense.

  • @ImmortalSynn Also, people have the discretion to ask and find out if they have a license. If they still choose to use his cousel then that's their decision. No different than aking if someone has a drivers license before you drive with them. They're not tricking their clients and claiming to have a license, they're open about it. Also, it's harder to regulate talking to people than it is driving on the road.

  • @Iamthemessiah23 Oi! What did the brick walls do to you? They're are not nearly as stubborn... Or ignorant;)

  • "no I'm reading it out of your book, dude!" hahahahaha

  • ALL this guy did was go back in the closet. what an idiot.

  • I am saying this as a gay man: If someone thinks they can stop being gay somehow. that is fine. Let them try to stop being gay if it will make them happy. If they feel that they are born gay. Great I hope that makes them happy too. Either way its a man or woman's personal journey. Being gay in one sense is a different experience for everybody.....*Sigh* so much fighting..

  • @JonM8909

There's an inherent difference between personally taking action to change something about one's life, and another person peddling scientifically unproven remedies for profit, in that regard.

Think of it this way: if you're feeling ill, you can throw together any kind of homemade concoction to make yourself feel better.

But I can't go SELLING some unverified homemade potion saying it's going to cure you. The FDA would have a fit. Too bad mental health doesn't have a similar watchdog.

  • This guy is nothing but EVIL i would never even bother to read his stupid book

  • @Isaacdarwin Body listen to me , he is not evil i am a gay and i am in my healing process to make a change ...the problem that no one understands how? or why? Just like you! It is just the matter of wanting a very deep love from a guy like you and just makes you gay ....People dont really understand...they just face and they dont get it! plus they dont have religion

  • @Isaacdarwin Evil...You dont really understand! iam gay and i am in the healing process it really work with me but it is just the matter of lack of understanding .....may be because you're not gay ...or u dont have a religion to refuse this.

  • I love how she finally just says, "I'm reading it from your book, dude!" This guy is a repressed moron. And not just any repressed moron, but one who apparently has power and whose words are being used to justify disgusting violations of human rights. I'm glad she called him out on his bullshit.

  • If environment is a factor in homosexual behaviour ... then why the homosexual behaviour in other species? Is a Penguins sexual behaviour determined by its religion, race or rejection by other penguins at the bar?? What bullshit !!!

  • Does this asshole even know what's in his book?? This guy is a complete ass clown...Wow, and reading some of the comments on this thread really shows how many hateful & intolerant pricks there are in this country. Very sad !! This man's book should be shoved up his tight ass.

  • @justjulie37 I agree totally. Rachel destroyed him like one crushes a bug on a wall. It was very fun to watch!

  • I think he’s wrong. He may be right. Either way that dude has charisma.

  • @A55TRICKY

"Either way that dude has charisma."

....you're joking, right? He comes off as a complete bumbling fool, IMO.

  • @ImmortalSynn Which dude?

  • @RoboSlater

    cleverness fail....

  • wait a minute. Now assuming he did not start his sexual life until adulthood, lets say even as low as 16, and he has been married for 27 years, how long was he gay? What, a week? I mean that is 43 years and this guy is not much older than that.

And THANK YOU Rachel Maddow for slamming this fraud.

  • according to this man I'm a perfect candidate to be gay... absent dad, over bearing mom, etc. Ive never had a same sex attraction. During embryonic development the fetus is subjected to the wombs production of antibodies as it rejects the foreign object. These antibodies interfere with the development of testosterone. Every fetus is a female by default until testosterone is administered to the brain and the body.. Thats why you dont choose to be gay.. Its as biological as being a lefty

  • She's right.

  • dude is so deep in the closet

  • @SomethingRules most of those folks are

  • BOOM!

  • Healthy love with guys meaning a condom??? Lol

  • @brianhoorn lol he should have fixed himself before he wrote a broken book.

  • I love how Maddow can cheerfully and disarmingly explain to someone that they are repugnant.

  • "I'm reading it from your book dude" lol. I love her.

  • "... rejection by opposite sex peers." Hmm... That sounds so familiar...

Also, I love it when Rachel refers to him as "dude." I don't know why, but that was the funniest line I've heard all morning.
