it was co worker who suggested me to listen to this song since i love jazz and yest, smooth jazz LOL, i am so addicted to this song. It has a 1970's New York feeling to it
good ol' frank. Even if you're a 14 year old in the modern alt-rock scene like me, you can't help but love him... I just finished up a presentation on him for class. I used this song :)
Check out montana and dinah moehummm !!! This great also if you like listening to tower of power and tell me if that soul funk reaches and alt-rock like u im shure it will ! Have good day now ! bye bye
The audio is the '69 vinyl LP mix, which is IMHO superior to what appeared on the subsequent CDs.
The piano, dominant on the remix, is more subdued here; the bass is stronger; and the winds are more prominent, giving the piece a more orchestral feel. Overall, it's jazzier, funkier and just plain more fun to listen to. Frank had the right idea when he went with his gut the first time.
I am sure this is a different take or has been heavily engineered at the very least. Very different sound to the hot rats cut. 2;06 has bass that i never heard before, 2;36 is somehow 'funkier'. Love those compressed drums too! Lovely
This was a joy to view and hear! Wish it was a teensy bit louder through my pc here. Makes me wonder where my Hot Rats album is. Oh where is my Hot Rats album? :(
this song is awesome!!!

One of my favorite tunes, ever. I remember seeing this video on MTV once, must have been atleast 15 years ago, if not more.

Thanks for sharing, totally agree with your comment, music way ahead of its time. Does MTV2 still broadcast this stuff?
