  • I used to be at tube driver on the district line until someone fell in front of my train and it wasn't the first

  • Here in Australia our train drivers would have to blow the horn going into tunnels.

  • are you a tube driver because i realy want to become a tube driver every day i look at videos like this

  • I feel sorry for them O.O if i saw that pitch black tunnel comming towards me, id be freaked out...doing my job inside there, no ty...

  • Lol yeah, it can get pretty depressing for them

  • What time was this recorded at?

  • Brilliant video!

  • great video, nice to see the northern line when it used to work back in the early 2000's and when the 1995 stock still looked new!

  • I still cant get my head around the fact that the underground has been in service since the 1860's!!!! pretty much every day since then people have been using it, I would love to go back to the 1930's or 40's and see what the whole system was like back then and life in general too! in England

  • Take away the Victoria and Jubilee lines, imagine trains of the period and no vending machines and you are almost there!

  • okay vid

  • how do drivers know when to stop

do yuo get like a beep or signal or something?

  • They learn the route during training and memorise all the braking points by heart. Drivers rely on visual cues (such as curves/signals/bridges) to determine when to apply the brakes to accurately stop by the stopping mark st stations.

  • Traffic lights, calls, and codes are recieved through the rails

  • @jakethejuj56 You brake when you see the whites of the passengers eyes!!....Love from an ex Northern line driver..1988-95

  • i love the noise it makes when the train enters the tunnel...

  • is thies a 1995 stock.

  • Yes, when this was filmed there was only 95 stock running on the Northern Line.

  • there still is

  • I know. I meant as opposed to both 95 and 59 stock in service on the line at the same time.

  • @Tetramesh By the way I don't get the difference between 59 and 62 stock.

One point else: When I was in London, Northern Line was mainly served by 56 stock.

  • amazing
