I can see if you were doing 315? but 225 is too light to say half reps are easy especially for guys who are sponsored. ps. muscletech is bs. worth supplement brand, they just sucker in all the rookies with their advertising skills, you'd never use muscletech if you went off of their ingredients.

  • @Josh:Hardest range: Bottom, if no rest or bounce on chest. Hardest work is w/upper arm parallel to ground: Bottom stays close to either side of parallel. Next hardest is mid: No chest to rest on or bounce off of, no lockout, but it moves a good distance away from parallel. = amount of total bar-travel in bottom is more work than full, but in mid you're avoiding both the easier top & the harder bottom. Throw in way less total bar travel & you've got way less work done: Cheating.

Going 90 degrees is easier on your rotator cuffs. Your not going to get any better results in your chest by touching it. Your just putting yourself at a greater chance for injury. Research is key my friend.

  • @jblove53 its a comp not training, so everyone shud be made to go the same deapth to full extension to make it fair, cos its much harder to bench press with the bar off ya chest than to 90 degrees

  • I agree...there was no standard. But...doing those without touching and stopping a hair short is actually a little harder than bouncing it.  Try it. It was obviously not a very serious competition or they would have had some sort of rules and regulations.
