It wasn't that easy. You were forced to be a nazi or you would be Killed. Some people did escape but very few did. The rest that tried to escape but did not, were put in prison or shot. If you were a guy and lived in Germany during WW2 and you were told to be a nazi, would you accept or be killed?

the clip where the americans land on the beach and the german tries to surrender and dies shows that not only german soldiers shot prisoners or soldiers that want to surrender. americans did it too. but i would too seeing that i claimb a fucking hill getting shot at with mg fire and motor sheels and the guy who did it tryed to surrender. fuck that i would shoot too. and said opps(like the leaders cared any way) lol.

the gremans took on america canada britan france ussr and many others and the only people that they had on their side was the italians who droped out of the war fast. they took over europe in 6 weeks. it took the allies nearly 4 years to take all of that back. you have to give the germans credit they were powerful and could probably have defeated any other country at the time in a 1 on 1 battle. the only thing wrong with germany at the time was their nazi leader hitler. When D-day happened, the 75% of german forces were dispatchet at East, so real winners were Soviets. In fact, the reds launched "Operation Bagration" at the same time, and the nazis were obligated to take troops from the west to put them in the eastern front. It came in a very good moment cos the allied offensive was near to be stuck. The german troops in the west were not one of their best; better troops were against Red Army because for them it was a life o death struggle.
